I went to the counter and asked if I could get help scheduling an appointment as it kept giving me errors online, the lady was very rude and wasn't helpful just insisted I had to use the website or the kiosk (which was the same thing with the same error) I tried to explain that I have been trying for a week now in hopes that the error would be fixed, she didn't care she just kept cutting me off directing me to the kiosk. Okay whatever, go the next day during their walk in hours which is 3-4pm lol. We got there at 1:50 just incase to find 10 people infront of us. The worker came and said she was only going to be able to get about 10 people, we decided to take the risk and wait. After 40 minutes the line hadn't moved AT ALL. The lady went to lunch, came back, and instead of helping the passport line she was helping the front registers which already had three other employees checking customers out. She was just doing other tasks and putting off doing any of the passport walk ins. We waited about another 10 minutes to see if she would come back and start working on passport but she didn't; we left. They don't want to work, and they're rude.

Wonderful historical gem left unspoiled for centuries!!!…read more Built priory to 1870 by William Burgess (one of many pioneers who settled in this area). It is one of the oldest homes in the Pikes Peak region. In those years, ox-drawn wagons travelled the Colorado City/Denver stage road a short distance from the cabin. Dirty Woman's ranch and Pretty Woman's ranch were famous stops along this route. The 1st narrow gauge (Denver/Rio Grande Railroad train) was passing about 2 miles from the cabin as well. William Burgess came to the Pikes Peak Region in 1861 with his mother and filed a homestead claim for 160 acres in Douglas Valley. 2 years earlier Colorado City had just been founded, 10 miles to the south. Bill cleared this land, and built a very rustic cabin without nails (the construction is made of simple notched logs with wooden pegs and mud calking). It is a simple and small one room cabin, it has a small loft upstairs and a stone fireplace on one side of the room. They had no running water and off course no electricity. This was as basic as you can get from today's standards, but very common of the dwellings of the time. William Burgess survived, as he could, attempting to garden at high altitude. He also worked as a lumberjack and cut logs used in the developing railroad system. He tried also to run an apple orchard, he had odd jobs cutting ice for local businesses, mining and whatever he could find to scrape by a living. Life and work was made harder by hot summers and snowbound winters in the Rockies. He eventually married Adeline, in 1880, and raised 5 kids in the single-room cabin. As the story was passed down, Adeline tried to make the best out of the situation, but being a pioneer woman in such isolated place was too much for her. She eventually left Bill. She took their three girls with her and left Bill with the two boys, his cabin and his dreams. Well Jeffrey don't know s***because we got here and the supervisor with the long black hair said "Jeffrey doesn't know ANYTHING about passports"--- great then maybe don't let him answer THE PHONE!!!

Went to this location on 8/14/23 to assist my daughter in obtaining her very first adult passport…read more The USPS employee we dealt with, SEAN, was INCREDIBLY RUDE. My daughter had many questions as this was her first time getting an adult passport. SEAN was curt, dismissive, condescending AND belligerent. We asked why he was being so rude, then he became ruder. Yelling at us at the top of his lungs in front of 15 other customers AND his supervisor MARGARET (who was standing just a few feet AWAY!) Margaret she said she would 'talk to him' about his behavior 'later'. TALK to him about his behavior?? TALK? I have never been treated so poorly at the USPS in my entire life (and I have been going there for over 40 years!) SEAN has NO business being employed at the USPS or anywhere! THE ONLY explanation for SEAN's behavior in FRONT of his SUPERVISOR is that he is confident he will NEVER be fired. Everyone in the waiting area was STUNNED into silence at the way he was yelling at me and my daughter (HE MADE HER CRY!) SHAME ON YOU USPS.

This fire department is AMAZING! Two times I have had to call them in an emergency…read more.. A few years ago my now late Great-Grandmother fell in the middle of the night. In her fall, she hit her head, so we called 911 to get help to make sure she was OK. Even though I live within a mile of the Fire Station, I was really impressed with their response time. It only took them about 10 or so minutes to get here. When they arrived, they were extremely nice and professional, and immediately "went to work". The whole crew assessed the situation and advised us to take her to the hospital. My family was new to the area, so we didn't know about the area hospitals. We asked which hospital was the best in the area, and they told us about the different area hospitals and they were extremely knowledgeable about the different ones... The second occasion, it was fairly late into the night, and one of my family members was showing signs and symptoms of having a heart attack. Although it was so late, they arrived extremely fast. When they got here, they helped said family member, and the paramedic explained what he thought might be happening, and advised us what we should do. They were incredibly helpful and professional, and took their time to make sure that everything was done correctly. They were super nice and told us that it was their priority to make sure my family member was OK... They told us that even if we had to call them again, even if they were sleeping, that they would come out ASAP to make sure he was OK... THANK YOU SO MUCH to ALL of the Wescott Firemen/women, EMS, and Paramedic(s)!

MSM does a fantastic job with all of the above, and staff are always so accommodating and helpful. The cards are unique, and the types of other items from signs for Mom all the way through to inspirational books is wonderfully interesting. It's our go to place for mail services as well as notarization, and the occasional card needed for various occasions. It's always a mixed bag to leave a good review for a place like this, since it becomes more and more crowded each ensuing time ;)!
