My boyfriend and I travelled with Air Premia from Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to Inchon Seoul South Korea (ICN). It was one of the more affordable options while being a time we liked. A few days before our flight we received a text that our flight was delayed by 4 hours. A bit annoying but at least I hadn't left yet and I can sleep in a little more that morning. It was for maintenance reasons so I understand safety is paramount. The day before our flight, we were texted and emailed our boarding passes. Pro tip for my carry on friends, with Air Premia, you can go straight to the gates if you don't need to check in your bags. This saved us sooooooo much time because we arrived 30 min before they opened the check stand for our flight and there was already a super long line. One thing annoying about my ticket, Air Premia did not put in my KTN for TSA PreCheck so I had to go through the regular TSA as the lines looked short enough I didn't feel like going downstairs to get another ticket. When it was time to board, it was really punctual. I was surprised at how quickly we were boarded. Staff was welcoming and courteous. The leg space on the flight was great. Entertainment was limited. I couldn't figure out the wifi but I had a lot of content downloaded on my phone so no issues staying entertained. There was a USB-A outlet by the screen and then the full outlets underneath the chairs. For our 12 hour flight, there was a meal shortly after take off, and then another meal 3 hours before landing so it gives us time for us to eat and staff time to clean and dispose of our trash. Warning though, these "meal" sizes are small. And unlike other airlines cannot be preselected. For our first meal we had the option of a Salmon and Potatoes or a Beef Bibimbap. My boyfriend picked the salmon and I picked the bibimbap so we got to try both. The meal came with fruits and a red bean pastry. I thought the food was decent for airplane food. But like I mentioned the portions are small. Oh one thing to note, this flight provides water and coffee, but no sodas compared to all the other flights I've been on. That's probably extra. Between the meals, the majority of the folks around us order supplemental snacks like chimac, nacho cheese, and instant noodles for a premium. Good thing we were prepared with our airline research and ate ahead of time and had plenty of snacks to sustain us. The second meal came closer to 2 hours before landing than the disclosed 3 hours before landing. Due to small portion size some of the folks around us were getting hangry. Good thing I had my snacks. When it was time to order we had the option of a chicken rice or a shrimp pasta. I knew there would be plenty of chicken rice in my near future so I opted for the shrimp pasta, and so did my boyfriend and the folks surrounding us, or else I would have snuck a picture. Overall one of the more affordable flights we found during our research. Not bad for no frills economy. Just be mindful that their portions are small for the meals and you may want to and before and/or snacks for your flight. Oh the leg space was pretty decent on this flight too. Staff was courteous. I don't know what's up with all the identical/apparently fake reviews on this page, but I wanted to write a real one since I didn't know a lot about this airline before I took a chance on it a year or so ago. I fly to Korea semi-annually and have now flown Air Premia 3x, twice across the pacific and once from Seoul to Bangkok. Also twice in premium economy and once in regular economy. Overall I really like this airline and I feel like it punches above its weight. The staff is typically very kind and genuine. They seem like really nice people having a good time. If this is a result of good management and fostering a professional but laid back culture, please keep at it, because I much prefer this to dry professionalism (or as is more frequently the case with some airlines: passive aggressive professionalism). For the most part, Air Premia staff at checkin, gate and in the air have felt like real human beings who are friendly. The premium economy seats are not business class, more like domestic business class, but they treat you like you're in business with the amenity kits, walking around the cabins offering drinks on trays and so on. On the flight to Bangkok the FA literally wore white gloves (white glove service). The food is also good, in the context of airline food, which I generally hate. Most of the time I bring my own food, no matter the class, because airline food makes me feel worse than not eating at all, but Air Premia's doesn't make me feel that way. I also order special meals, and their vegan option on my most recent flight from HNL to ICN was a noodle dish with tofu and veggies, which is so much more digestible on a plane than the bloat-encouraging bean dishes with heavy sauces that are so often offered elsewhere. The amenity kits (I can't remember if they're given out in economy, too) are provided in bags that are sized to go through security with liquids, and are meant to be re-used. They're still plastic, and I prefer some of the other airlines (like Hawaiian) that provide kits in cloth and filled with mostly recyclable or compostable materials, but I do appreciate the message. The other cool thing is that the amenity kit comes with a booklet that tells you about every product, including how to use it and a full ingredients list. This is a godsend for someone like me, because even though the list is a thousand miles long, I avoid certain items because of lifestyle (milk for instance) and allergies (chamomile, which is in a lot of skincare products!), so I can glance down the list and determine whether I can use the item. It's a small but really helpful touch. The bathrooms have little sachets that make them smell nice, and the planes are all Boeing 787s, so even when they force dim the cabin, you can still technically see outside, which is a bonus for me, as I get anxious when I can't see outside (I know, I have a whole list of things). The 787 flight experience is also generally smoother and better for your skin (not as dry) and personal energy (pressurized closer to ground level, better air circulation, better lighting design), so it's easier to transition into your destination afterward. There are of course downsides. I swear the wifi is always out. I am never prepared, so I have to find ways to pass the time and it makes the trip feel longer. On most flights I like to work, but everything I do is cloud-based so it's impossible without wifi, and that gets frustrating. A minor note is that if you sit in the front row of a section without underseat storage, you have to store your bags in the overhead for the duration of the flight. On all airlines I've previously flown they only ask you to store them there during takeoff and landing, and explicitly allow items on the ground during the main flight, but Air Premia does not. I'm not sure if it's a Korea thing, but worth noting when picking your seat. I had to get up and down a lot throughout the flight to access my bag as a result. Lastly, the entertainment is very limited. I'm totally fine watching Korean films and tv shows, but on my latest flight there were only like 5 or 6 films -- fortunately they were subtitled in English. The tv show selection, however, (also limited) was exclusively available in Korean. So if you don't speak any Korean, definitely bring backup entertainment! The downsides are few and, relatively speaking, minor, though. Of the three flights I've taken with them, none have been delayed. One had a scheduled change that they let us know about days in advance, so it wasn't a huge deal. Everything else in my experience has been perfectly on time. I had to book round trip ticket from LAX to ICN Korea at the last minute. I found a new korean airline non stop thru priceline. And my nephew already experienced and recommended that this airline has spacious leg room in economy standard and the staff are so friendly, the price is way cheaper. Well, I was a little skeptical from LAX but it started very well. The staff at the counter was so friendly to check in my luggage and seat. I got my seat by the aisle and no one was taken next to me. What a comfort, lucky for me!!! They offered 2 meals, small portion but enough for me, pasta w shrimps was so good, short rib w rice was delicious. I give 5 stars. Only water, coffee, tea were offered w meals, the extra snacks, wine, noodles are charged. Just less than $10. For me, I loved the seat, about 7 to 8 inch leg room is extra compared to Korean Air or Asiana air. I can stretched my entire legs. No knee pains!!! The plane is Boeing 787-9 huge 2 story plane, called dreamliner over 350 passengers plus staff. Reliable plane as well as comfortable. The 2 meals are so good. I ordered extra white wine after 1st meal, paid only about $6 converted 7,000 won. The staff are so friendly. This is another strong point for me to choose Air Premia. The departure time and arrival time are so convenient. Noo too early in the morning or overnight and my family can pick me up easily for another strong point. When I returned from Seoul to LA, the check in counter staff were unfriendly. I have no idea compared to LA staff. Little rude when I told I already checked in on line early yesterday and I only needed 2 luggages to check in. I asked "would you put the warning lable, FRAGILE on my both luggages?" Seemed like they were annoyed. Why??? What is wrong w them??? I think the staff at the counter needed more training for the foreigners as well as Koreans. I spoked in English all the way but the staff answered me in korean. Thank God!! I am trilingual English, korean, and french. The meals were pasta, pork w rice. Not too bad. I ordered the white wine w mini cheese pretzel, paid 10,000 Won. The flight staff were super friendly though. I got lucky to take my seat by the aisle again and 2 seats were empty. I had a spacious seat for me all the way to LA. What a luck!!! So comfy for 11hours. Nobody bothered me all the way. Thank God! In conclusion, I can recommend Air Premia to everyone. The leg room is spacious. The 2 meals are good, extra snacks are cheap, the departure and arrival times are great for pick up. The flight attendants are friendly except LA check in counter staff. They need a real training to greet w smile nicely. Price is really good, cheaper but the service is great. They departed on time and landed early. I don't know why some people complained about delay. Overall I had a great experience for the first time. I will definitely use Air Premia for next trip. Just remind of more training at the check in counter in Seoul. Should be nicer w smile. read more

Air Premia is a good way to travel overseas. It is a low cost carrier but it doesn't give the low quality Spirit/Frontier vibe. The main way you will be able to tell is that they don't serve soft drinks, alcohol or snacks on the flight unless you buy them. They still include meals in the flight and will give water at specified times. The seats are spacious in economy as well with video screens for each seat. They have only limited Korean entertainment so I suggest bringing your own downloaded movies or books. The service was very good and the flight attendants were nice. It is a great way to travel and save several hundred dollars in the process. read more

After we landed in New York, they made us wait 30 mins on the runway because "the gate was occupied" and once we arrived at the gate, another 15 minutes. To do what?? open the gates?? Then they proceeded to make us wait another 40 minutes for our bags, it took them 6 gazillion years to load the bags. Do better!! read more

Flew with Air Premia in September 2024. Flew from LAX to ICN. I came super early just to be safe but the counter wasn't open until 7:30am. So no need to come so early. There was at least 8 workers at the check in counter so line seem to move fast. Our flight was 90% koreans and the flight crews were all Korean. However, they are able to communicate in English as well. The flight crews are very friendly and helpful. They walk down the aisle once in awhile in case you need water or anything. The flight had 2 meal times and 1 snack time. There was always two choices for the meals. The food isn't very good though. The seats had plenty of leg room and the flight was smooth. Entertainment wise, it's only Korean movies and shows. Wifi is available for purchase. ICN to LAX was just as pleasant. Check in was easy and smooth process. Our flight landed an hour earlier than the estimated time. The website to buy tickets was easy to navigate. read more

Juice and water before the plane takes off. Skincare package of samples! Slippers. And these seats are definitely the biggest, like first class (never flown). The recline is AHMAZING! It was not full so we could go back to almost flat! The food was excellent and we got to board first. Avoid Air Premia - Terrible Experience We booked 4 flights with Air Premia: NRT ICN EWR, and the reverse on the way back. The experience was unbelievably frustrating. Issue 1: Luggage Allowance Dispute At EWR, when checking in for the return flight, the staff tried to charge us for an additional 23kg bag. My booking included two 23kg bags per person for the entire trip, and I even had written confirmation from Air Premia customer service. Outbound flights honored this, but on the return, the manager insisted it wasn't valid and told me, "every airline does this." That's absurd--no airline allows two bags on the way out and then refuses them on the way back. Even after showing the original booking, the manager refused to honor it until I escalated to a higher-level manager. Completely unprofessional and appalling service. Issue 2: Damaged Bike When my carbon bike arrived, a critical part was missing. The TSA lock was opened, and the rear derailleur hanger had been removed. However, there was no screw to reattach it--leaving my frame, derailleur, and hanger unsecured. The airline forced me to sign a waiver about possible "damage," but nowhere did it say they could remove or lose parts. Missing parts are not "damage"--it's negligence. Overall Experience This trip was anything but low-cost--tickets weren't cheap, and yet the service was worse than any budget airline I've flown. The baggage dispute, missing bike parts, and rude staff made the entire journey uncomfortable and stressful. You don't "get what you pay for" with Air Premia--you get much less. Our first time booking a flight with Air Premia from LAX to INC turned into a hassle when, less than 12 hours before departure, we received an email notifying us of a 9-hour delay. At first I was nervous about the reviews but it was fine--I think people's experiences vary based on situations but the fundamental basics of the flight were great. For example, leg room for economy was great. I felt it was more than other airlines. The food was healthy and tasted good. The airline stewardesses were friendly and kind. The entertainment was in Korean only however, we knew that by reading reviews before our flight so we just prepared in advance. Honestly, I would never fly Air Premia again. It was a little over $200 cheaper than Korean Air and I wanted to be able to experience something before having an opinion. (LAX - INC) Just pay the extra for a reputable company. They changed the time of the flight 18 hours before the flight. My fault for not reading the email (I assumed it was an email to check in), but it made us go to the airport twice on the day of. Thank GOD it wasn't pushed up, because I would've missed my flight. (CHECK ALL EMAILS, because they will and can switch your schedule on the whim) Also, arrive early, because they are clearly not favored by LAX. They are at ONE END of the airport. Beyond that.... here are the lists of reasons why I, personally, would never travel with Air Premia, especially if you are traveling with a kid. 1. THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE to contact. I emailed them once before the first leg of the flight and again after the first leg and I never got a response. Their American number is NEVER working (not Korea time, LA time). As an international airline company, I feel they should have a number that is reachable from all parts of the world, or AT LEAST respond to the emails, but no, they make it impossible for you to contact them. 2. They do not have access to TSA Pre-check and Global Entry. With a toddler and a million things to carry with your toddler, the fact that TSA Pre-check is not available is really annoying. 3. From Incheon, they did not allow my toddler and I to board after the Premier Economy. I don't want to sound entitled, but honestly, loading on the flight with a toddler, stroller, and many bags, the pure pressure to load and sit on a flight with a full line behind you is very stressful. They could clearly see I had a toddler and we were at the very front before they were calling the sections, but these people load you from the end of the plane (bigger numbers first) and would not let my Toddler and I enter because we were one number less than what they were calling (they called 26 and up, I was 25). By the time we got on the plane, people behind us was annoyed that my toddler was walking slow and I had to put away a lot of our bags away before getting to our seats. 4. They give you attitude every time they pass by with a trash (INC-LAX). I had a toddler with many snacks and new toys to keep her busy and when they passed by, I would reach out to give them some of the trash and they would give me this look of annoyance. By the end of the flight, I didn't even bother giving them the trash because, if they are going to be attitude-y about wanting to clean the space and honestly, help them with the trash, why bother? 5. Soap was out 4 hours before take off and no one bothered to refill it (from LAX to INC) 6. The My Flight schedule and the actual schedule for their services was off by over 1.5 hours. (LAX-INC) 7. Their system does not tell you the current time of the departure and arrival city. They only tell you what time you are arriving and the city, distance traveled, and time left. I flew many airlines and never encountered this. I wanted to see what time it was and it was never available anywhere on the screen, you have to check your phone. 8. Their food portions are really small. The first leg of the trip, all the food was reallllly salty (LAX-INC), like inedible salty. The second leg of the trip, the seasoning was aight, but it was just horrible. 9. You won't get anything but water and coffee unless you pay. And they keep announcing duty free advertisement to try to make you buy things from their magazine and their food/snack cart (I don't think Korean Air has been doing this for years... or if they do it, they do it subtly). It was like riding a plane from the early 2000s, where they only like you for purchasing things on their plane. 10. I bought wifi as soon as I got on the plane and they said it wasn't working and the wifi kept going on and off. Every time I tried to use it, they wanted me to pay again, so I contacted the FA and asked them what am I to do? I still had a lot of data left to use and they told me to contact Air Premia for a refund (did I mention, their customer service is literally non existent?) I just blew money to use internet for like 5 minutes. I wouldn't buy Wi-Fi with them, their system sucks. 11. The only reason why I gave them a 2 star is bc their leg room is decent and the first leg of the trip (LAX-INC), the FAs were super nice and welcoming. Overall, I would never EVER fly Air Premia again and I don't recommend it for anyone. Just pay the slight extra for customer service you deserve and the comfortability for the travel you planned. Honestly, a flight is the beginning and end of the trip, if it's horrible, the trip itself can become a bad memory. Don't let a flight be the ruin of your vacation. read more

They do something I have not seen done before that, the fact other airlines don't do it, drives me crazy. I always pay extra to sit in the first row, aisle seat in economy. Butnapmetines the seats in that row aren't always full and people will come sit in them. On this flight it was $120.00 to sit in my favorite seat. I have been using Air Premia for the past few years, but the delays in departures and arrivals have been severe. Complaints cannot even be made over the phone--only schedule changes are allowed, and even those can only be done via email. I contacted them by email in Korea, but all they said was "sorry," without offering any compensation. I booked my wife's ticket in June 2024, but since then, they have held ticket sales three or four more times. Even worse, they arbitrarily changed our departure date to the next day and the return date to the following day, simply sending a single email apologizing for the change. Now, just a week before departure, I received a message last night saying the flight would be delayed by another three hours. I am furious that I have to take two extra days off for this trip with no alternative solutions provided. I will never fly with this airline again. read more

I accidentally entered the wrong name when booking a ticket for my sister and realized the error at the airport, less than an hour before departure. I fully understand that this was my mistake, but the airline refused to help or even offer a name correction. I had to purchase a second, more expensive ticket on the spot -- and after emailing customer service, I received only a partial refund with 75% of the original ticket cost eaten up by fees. "Checking is not available at this time" All their digital service are completely useless . Check-in can only be done at the airport. You get little choice of seating. Disappointed. It's a budget airline. I DO NOT recommend if your flight time is more than 6 hours. the $300 savings you get (LAX-ICN) is not worth it if you have access to lounges from other mainstream airlines. 1 - The food is horrible. Portions are small. The congee (jook, or more appropriately jjan bab if you've served in the ROK army) is nasty. They made it deliberately salty to save on passing out single serve soy sauce 2 - The staff is inexperienced. I could only see 1 or maybe 2 staff with experience. The rest of them were as if they were just out of high school. 3 - These staff is focused more on selling you Duty Free items (that are about 25% higher price on average compared to KAL or Asiana DFS). I asked for a glass of water and they told me it was not time for that service, and to wait. Meanwhile, they were busy selling duty free items. I had to wait over an hour to get a cup of water. 4 - You have to pay for everything, including OJ and of course alcohol. Good thing we ate at the terminal before boarding. 5 - The website sucks!!!! I do want to point out a couple of positives. The planes are new, so that's pretty nice. Also, although the staff is mostly inexpericed (to save costs), they are very friendly. I would not recommend flying on AirPremia for long haul flights. I'm also afraid that they might start charging for the use of their bathrooms to maximize their profits. read more

They rescheduled my flight which would have made me late for my layover, but were impossible to reach by phone or email. I essentially started panicking in a foreign country, but they then rescheduled the second flight so I didn't miss my layover flight, so it worked out I guess. read more

I flew from lax to Seoul and back in March 2025 and it was my first time going outside the us and I was alone. I personally can't sleep on planes, but I was still very comfortable! There's tons of leg room and they let people go to the back of the plane to move around/stretch whenever we wanted as long as there wasn't turbulence. A lot of the shows/movies were in Korean but there were still a decent amount avaliable in english subtitles. The staff are super friendly too! Announcements will be in korean first and then english. I hate to leave a review prior to my flight even departing, but their customer service (or lack thereof) has prompted me to do so. I have been trying to change my husband's return flight for the last 3 weeks now, and for a company that claims all can be done on the website- their website is not capable to. It seems like whoever structured this website is not aware that there is a KNOWN ERROR when it gets to the payment portion (not to mention the glitches during the change schedule process where it's unable to find my reservation unless I restart the process at least 2x). I called their USA Line and they told me to contact the Korean line after 5pm; when I contact the Korean line, I only get 3 pre-recorded messages and none of the options allow me to speak to an actual agent or rep. I just sent an email to their salessupport@airpremia.com, after one of the USA reps finally gave me this contact. She said it should take about 24hrs to receive a reply. I will update this review once I do. They made a mistake while explaining a booking - kept on saying our flight was on a different day despite the ticket saying otherwise. Air Premia was so amazing! The customer service is top-notch. We had a connecting flight in Seoul and without the flight attendants and supervisors, we would have never made our connecting flight to Bangkok. Their staff went above and beyond for us to make sure we made our connecting flight (which did include the staff members escorting us through the airport to get us where we needed to be quickly). I have never received this level of service before and we are so thankful for the staff at Air Premia. Also, the premium seats on the flights were very spacious and comfortable. Everything about trip was great on this airline. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

Never again. We booked a several flights February 2025 from SFO to ICN, then ICN to BKK and BKK to ICN and finally ICN to SFO at a very reasonable price. While we were in South Korea Air Premia canceled the flight from ICN to BKK just a few days before our flight departed. This sent us scrambling to find new flights. We would have booked a return flight, however Air Premia assured us that the flight from BKK to ICN was still scheduled. Yet again AP canceled our flight from BKK to ICN a few days before our flight date. These cancellations cost us triple the cost of our original bookings. It is extremely difficult to reach Air Premia's customer service and is mostly via email and takes forever to get an answer. On the flight from SFO to ICN one of the two bathroom had the sink closed down, so one could not wash hands unless you used the other restroom. Food was average at best and cannot order special meals. Even though the model they use sounds promising (only premium economy and economy at reasonable prices), AP is not yet a reliable airline as they only have 5 or 6 airplanes and we will not use them in the near future unless they can improve their service. read more

Hey, don't let other reviewers steer you wrong! This is a great way to get to Korea. I was able to book a flight within 5 days from LAX for less than $1400 round trip! The service is great, the plane is new and comfortable, and the food is good. Air Premia caters to Koreans, so all the entertainment options are Korean. If you are not into that, bring your own movies to watch on the flight. Highly recommended! read more

Do not fly with this airline. New airline new aircraft very kine employees but they running and handling business as very amateur. visit there web site you'll find out why I say this. The system is not ready yet. They blame whether for air plain maintenance not ready to fly. My wife has to stay in a hotel on her own expenses for two days to get the final fly. Just flew ICN-EWR route round-trip. EWR-ICN route was uneventful (could have been 5-star rating). However, ICN-EWR was troublesome. IFE, not much choice to begin with, just did not work. About 45 seats were affected despite 2 attempts to reset the entire system. Flight attendant kindly offered a free WIFI coupon, but WIFI was not working either. Food was excellent and seats were comfortable (I got premium economy), but 14 hrs of limited IFE experience was a quite a torture. I realized later that their customer service actually did not exist. Hope they will fix the problem soon. read more

I've seen the bad reviews, and my sentiments are the same, so no need for me to repeat what has been said. I will add that I use a particular card for travel-related expenses only, and shortly after I booked 3 tickets with this airline, my credit card was compromised. I had to go through the hassle of canceling and getting a new card with the issuer. It could have been a coincidence, or there could be something more sinister here. Next time, I'm sticking with a more reputable airline with a better track record of servicing its customers and protecting customers' information. read more
