This review is about my First Class experience on Delta Air Lines from Los Angeles to New Orleans and back. Domestic First Class is no comparison to International. No lounge service unless you have a certain credit card, but I don't fly domestic enough to make it worth it. I paid more to experience better service; get on and off the plane first; larger, roomier seats in the front cabin; and meals, snacks, and drinks included. I did obtain good service. The breakfasts did not rock my world however. The quiche was pretty good. The yogurt that was served on both flights was flavorless, and I don't like thick, flavorless food in general. No fault of Delta, but I had to endure the same family to and from New Orleans. The parents were traveling with two small, obstreperous children. It wasn't enjoyable. The entire family was not seated together on either flight, but both boys wanted to be seated with mom, which made for an active flight to say the least. read more

First of all, I want to begin this review by stating that this review is going to be about Delta Airlines Domestic First Class. I know a lot of people have a lot of complaints about Delta Airlines. But, you have to keep everything in perspective with all domestic carriers. They're all pretty much the same. They all try to do a good job. But, sometimes problems arise. Hopefully that won't happen to you. Personally, I've never had any real issues with Delta Airlines First Class. Sure, sometimes the flights are a bit delayed, but they've never been massively delayed or anything like that. That's a good thing. In terms of service, I really recommend that you fly First Class on Delta Airlines. Sure, it's not anything near International First Class. That's a completely different ball game. But, flying domestic first class really gives you a bit of an advantage. First of all, you get to board the plane first. Meaning, you're allowed to get to your seat, put your bag away, and sit back and relax while all the other passengers struggle to find their seat and a place to put their carry-on luggage. In terms of what they offer for food and drink, it's all complementary. Is it great food? No, not really. It's pretty much what can be expected. But, it is a step above economy class, and certainly you don't have to pay for it. This is the same with their drink menu. Anything you want to drink, alcohol included, they provide to you for free. Plus, you do get a considerably larger seat than the ones they offer in economy class. Overall, as with all flights, you just have to be prepared to accept what's going to happen. Certainly, we all want the best experience possible. And, for the most part, Delta Airlines has never let me down. But, you have to be willing to roll with the punches. The best way to do that, I believe, is to fly Delta First Class. It really takes a lot of the edge off the trip, and makes the whole flying experience a whole lot better. read more

I love flying Delta first class! Delta in general as an airline is usually reliable. I haven't had issues with delays I felt could have been controlled or anything like that. The staff is always excellent in first class as was evidenced on my most recent flight. They were happy to get us earbuds, even put our napkin across the tray for the meal, friendly skies! Our pilot kept us well informed of some turbulence and ya girl loves hearing as much info as possible as an anxious flyer. Good movie and TV show selections - Plus live TV streaming! This was amazing on a football day and to watch my Sun morning political shows. I was streaming the entire plane ride! There have been viral horrific first class meals on other airlines lately, but I'm happy to report my breakfast Salmon meal was top tier. Delicious, big portion, great variety of items. Overall if I'm flying Delta, I feel more safe and taken care of than other airlines. read more

We flew with DELTA AIR LINES on our way to Tampa Florida from LAX and back from Orlando to LAX. On the way to Tampa it started RAINING and we were all saying our prayers up in the sky. It was the BUMPIEST ride of my life and it's not Delta's fault. Mother Nature just wanted to remind us that each second of life counts and to appreciate it and live it with no regrets! SAFETY:10/10Thanks so much to the CAPTAIN we made it through what felt like a roller coaster ride in the sky! It's what you see in the movies but, worst because you are actually going through it. This review is about our Delta experience at LAX. For context, I usually fly another airline where I have status and a very familiar check in routine, so this is from the perspective of someone who is used to a different system. We had to walk quite a bit around the airport because the signs were not very clear on where to go, especially with some of the construction and routing. That part was frustrating, although to be fair I have seen similar issues with other airlines at LAX too. Once we got to the Delta area, it was clear they really encourage people to use the kiosks and the self service bag drop unless you have a special issue. The process felt a little cumbersome at first, especially while trying to help my elderly father. The positive side is that a Delta employee came over and really made a difference. He stepped in, helped us through the process, handled the bags, and did a fantastic job. He even walked my dad through where to go to get wheelchair assistance, and the wheelchair team was very kind and helpful. That personal help is what lifted the rating for me. In my head, this experience sits around three and a half stars. The walking in circles and unclear directions keep it from being higher, but the staff who helped us at the counter and with the wheelchair were excellent. For people who do not fly all the time, I think Delta would feel like a solid option. I will call it 3 and a half stars, rounded up to 4 on here. read more

11/17/25-needed to make changes for my return flight in January.. My son booked my flight but had me returning to Sacramento.. My stress level was rising as I wasn't sure how I would get back to Reno- (probably Amtrak- another 5+ hour train ride).. LAX has a good, fast process moving through from an international flight. I had a layover in California for 3 hrs and was able to get through TSA security in under 20 minutes. I walked to the Delta terminal for my connecting flight. Delta is swift and efficient and I prefer to fly with their airline over any others. Having Deltas credit card is a bonus perk since I get two free checked bags for international flights. I did find the LAX airport hot and loud but coming from Japan where everyone is considerate and quiet and not in their annoying telephones is a culture shock to return back to the USA. Travel is such a learning experience to find out how other cultures interact. I find that people are so loud and annoying with cell phones in the United States more than any other country. read more

What a terrible Flight Experience from Detroit to Los Angeles today. I payed for a Comfort Plus Seat. It was a waste of money. Seats in row 18 do not recline. There were no Paper Towels in the first Bathroom that I entered at the beginning of the flight. I informed the Flight Attendent. There weren't any Paper Towels in the second Bathroom either. I asked another Flight Attendent if they were out of Paper Towels? The Flight Attendent said that since it was a "turbulent flight", they were unable to restock the Paper Towels in the Bathroom. However, they were able to serve food & drink several times. When I went to the last Bathroom, there were Paper Towels but the sink was full of dirty water. I informed the Flight Attendent. I spent over 1 hour textng with Delta. It was a complete waste of my time. read more

LAX to MCI's flight attendant truly missed her calling. She should have worked as a prison guard. Entire flight she was so angry her mouth couldn't possibly scowl any further. She'd constantly yell at us and treat us like kindergarteners. She screamed at my wife for asking for a napkin and literally screamed at me when I tried getting up to use the bathroom. I felt like I was on a reality TV show. 5 stars though for the first class seats. I could literally cross my legs and a few cocktails helped handle her mood. Her constant anger didn't impact her cocktail mixing skills. Nice selection of movies too. Food was meh. Had a charcuterie thing that was a glorified lunchable. Traveling alone with an infant is already stressful, and this travel day honestly broke me a little. Due to extremely long lines and understaffing at check in, my baby and I missed our flight. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and trying my best not to completely fall apart in the airport. Chris, the manager, stepped in and completely changed the experience. He was kind, patient, and genuinely compassionate while I was having a very emotional moment. Instead of rushing me through, he took real care in helping us, rebooked us for the next day, and made sure we were okay. What stood out most was that the following day he personally assisted me again to ensure everything went smoothly. That level of attentiveness and empathy meant more than he probably knows. Travel days do not always go as planned, but employees like Chris remind you how powerful kindness and professionalism can be. Delta, please recognize Chris. So we were flying the friendly skies with Delta from the mad house known as LAX to Detroit then into Burlington airport. The first flight out was great and we had a great experience with their crew going to Detroit ant to our destination of Vermont from there. Got on and got off with no problem. However, coming back home to LAX from Detroit was a different experience. The staff was cranky and just rude. A gentleman was trying to put his bag into the top compartment and the stewardess started just absolutely being obnoxious with him repeatedly saying "you need to put your bag away sir" "We can't take off till you put your bag away" over and over again. It was enough to cause you to get anxiety, even though it had nothing to do with you. There was just a different feeling you got from this crew vs the one we originally had on the way to Detroit. Then later on during the flight close to the end of the last serving before we landed. They were coming around serving, the stewardess came up to us and she was nice to my wife, However with me she says rudely "look I don't have all day" not even giving me a chance to say a word edge wise. It was enough for me to politely just refuse to have anything at all. My wife looked at me and asked me did she really just say that to you. I get it, it's a long flight and the public can be difficult to deal with. But you should be able to keep a sense of professionalism when doing so. My girlfriend and I flew Delta from LAX to OGG Maui and back. Round trip first class. The flight from LAX to OGG was on a Boeing 767, the first class seats were very comfortable and spacious and had lay flat features. The service was great and we enjoyed the whole experience from check in, bag drop, screening, boarding, in flight, landing, and baggage claim. Unfortunately after I had booked the tickets our return flight was canceled. Delta offered me the option to change our return flight. I needed to take the red eye back to LAX due to my schedule upon return in order to maximize our time in Maui. The best return flight option was to fly Maui to Seattle, and Seattle to LAX. The flight from OGG to SEA was on an A321neo. The first class seats were much smaller than the Boeing 767 and the seats didn't recline nearly as much. I wasn't able to get comfortable enough to sleep so I spent the red eye flight trying to rest. The connection was on a Boeing 737 that also had smaller and limited reclining seats. So upon our return to LAX neither of us had slept. This is not so much a critique of Delta as much as the smaller narrow body aircraft which flew the OGG to SEA and SEA to LAX segments. I had originally booked the round trip on wide body aircraft with lay flat seats. I fly somewhat frequently and will fly Delta again. Hopefully my next flight will be on wide body aircraft and more comfortable, especially if it's a red eye. read more

Outstanding Service from Immanuel - Delta Flight DL1993 (Dec 3, STI JFK) My wife is currently undergoing cancer treatment and has difficulty walking, so we requested wheelchair assistance upon landing. Unfortunately, when we arrived at JFK, the wheelchair service was not there. Immanuel, a member of the Delta crew, immediately called to request it again -- but even after all the passengers had deplaned and the crew had left, the service still never arrived. Seeing this, Immanuel personally stepped in to help us. He brought the wheelchair himself and guided us through a large portion of the airport. He went above and beyond his duties with kindness, patience, and genuine care. In a moment when we needed support the most, he was there. His professionalism and compassion truly restored our trust in Delta. We will continue flying with Delta because of employees like Immanuel. It was delayed until 12 (not bad, I had reading,) then it was delayed until 5pm, 10pm and finally (I think, I left) 12am. But that was the good part. I rescheduled for the next day and went down to get my bag (which they assured me would be easy.) I waited and hour (easily confirmable,) 2hours (complained) three hours (complained) and four hours (for ONE bag.) At last I asked for a supervisor who I told had an office I couldn't get to. So I asked her to come to me. She did (and was very nice) and got my bag within 30 minuted. $ hours and 30 minutes after I first requested it. AWFUL AIRLINE. Tomorrow I will begin this travesty again (I can't afford not to.) I have to be in NY on Monday for work, I pray that they do me right. read more

We took an overnight flight from LA to Auckland and since it was our anniversary trip, we gifted ourselves Delta's Premium Select seats which are basically their domestic first class cabin repackaged for an international flight - so while it's not a completely lie flat seat, everything else is the same as first class and we had a great experience once on board! Their Premium Select seats have 19 inches of width, 38 inches of legroom pitch, and seven inches of recline (as compared with the regular economy seats that are 18 inches wide, with 31 inches of pitch, and four inches of recline). And for bonus leg room we picked the front row bulkhead seats and it was fantastic! I piled some pillows on top of my backpack after take off and was pretty much able to stretch all the way out and almost lie flat - totally worth it! The elevated experience starts at bag drop - they give you Sky Priority service so you have a dedicated check in/bag drop lane and your bags get specially designated tags so they're the first to come out at bag claim after landing which I loved. Knocking off a star though bc for some very odd reason, Delta doesn't have a bag drop in the Tom Bradley International terminal (TBIT) at LAX - and they don't tell you this in any way before hand - so we had to go on a wild goose chase before our flight and walk all the way from TBIT to terminal 3 only to find we had to drop our bags in terminal 2 and then make our way back to TBIT. It was frustrating chaos and luckily we had plenty of time - but they really need to tell people beforehand at the very least OR get a bag drop at TBIT which makes sense and is better for their customers :/ The gate at TBIT was nothing special and unfortunately Premium Select doesn't come with lounge access. But it does give you early boarding access immediately after the first class passengers. And once on board it's luxury the rest of the way! It's a 2-4-2 configuration of seats and we had the 2 to ourselves on the right which was absolute heaven! They give you a welcome drink in actual glassware (but the hot drinks still come in paper cups) and some really lovely cheese crackers to tide you over until dinner. You get some quality headphones, slippers, a memory foam pillow, soft blanket, and a handmade amenity kit bag with the artist's name inside. It's got an eye mask, socks, toothbrush kit, pen, earplugs, and some really lovely lotion and lip balm from Grown Alchemist! Very impressive! The meals and snacks were also next level - they even lay out a tablecloth on your tray table to serve on -boujeeee lol! For dinner we had the chicken in mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes and spinach. It came with lovely crackers and a salad and tiramisu for dessert - I normally hate airplane food but this was surprisingly really delicious! They also provided a mid-flight snack of a savory pizza twist that we slept through but the flight attendant happily gave us some when we woke up. It was also yummy and just right for a snack. About an hour and a half before arrival we were served breakfast which was even better than the dinner! Hubby got the egg and cheese frittata and I got the yogurt and granola plate - both were delicious and the granola was some of the best I've had! Both came with bowls of fresh fruit and a chocolate. Again - the food was very surprising. And just before landing they gave some more thank you chocolates so we definitely didn't go hungry on this flight lol. Delta had a large selection of movies and TV options available and the touch screens were quite large and very responsive. I enjoyed the interactive map that let you move around and see the surrounding islands etc. I actually slept so much that I didn't even watch anything haha! It wasn't a deep, restful sleep but I was comfortable enough to get a good rest and felt as decent as could be expected when we landed. Delta doesn't have WiFi on these over-ocean flights yet so come prepared with entertainment lol. The service on board was friendly, attentive, and truly exceptional. The Premium Select seats aren't cheap but they aren't too crazy expensive either and totally worth the splurge for special occasions and long haul flights like this one (13+ hours). They were about half the price of traditional lie-flat first class but we felt very pampered and would definitely book again! read more

One of the worst airlines to fly internationally! Our seats didn't recline. It the guy infront of me reclined his seat which was about 4 inches from my face. The food was terrible, the crew didn't pass out all the snacks instead loaded their bags with all the treats and snacks that they should have passed out to us. Landed in Atlanta to catch a connecting flight to Houston to where we had to pick up our own bags and take them to another drop off point then to take a train about 1-2 miles away before reaching our terminal. My 5 star review is because of a stellar flight attendant named Maya, flight DL0554 today from Seattle to Atlanta. She smiled, interacted and made our section feel special. Earth below us, drifting, falling Floating weightless, calling, calling home... Thank you for the early arrival home. The flight back was a bit easier than our outgoing flight. The flight attendants were great with the kids and let me rock my son to sleep by their area. I wish the changing table fit more than a cabbage patch kids doll (this dad always figures out a solution). Thanks to the pilots for allowing my son to sit in the cockpit he really enjoyed it. Asked the check in desk a quick question and the guy just walked away, then told me to come back in 15 minutes. Couldn't upgrade my seats because I booked through Air France, their supposed partner. I like Delta! It's the primary provider for my home airport in Huntsville, AL. Unfortunately, departing from HSV, you cannot go anywhere without a short flight to Atlanta. Every. Single. Time. The goodness is that flight is such a short trip! It's right around a one-hour flight. I used to go TDY all the time with my various jobs and spent a lot of time flying Delta. I never had a bad experience! I enjoyed LAX when I had a brief layover there on the way to Kauai. I went outside at LAX to get some fresh air, and returning through security, the man behind me really had his hands full with at least one child, and all the items you have to put in bins. I was trying to help him push his stuff through the conveyer belt and in the process; after showing my ID to the attendant, I lost my ID! This is on my way to a more than a weeklong trip of work in Barking Sands during which my drive (via rental car) was 1+ hours each way to get to work. Next up: how to get a rental car without a driver's license. Delta/LAX never found my license as I called and called and called. Long story short, it all worked out thanks to the Madison County Courthouse's willingness to FAX a document to the rental car company. All in all, no complaints about Delta. I've had to cancel flights, rebook flights and I've flown Delta internationally (Greece, Italy, Sweden, Germany) and CONUS. The only drawback is the cost, locally. I can't find the statistics; however, due to the military base and numerous DoD and federal agencies in the region, Delta really charges premium ticket prices in HSV. read more

This was by far the worst traveling experience I have ever had. I was traveling with my two kids and as we approached LAX a cancellation notice was sent. Waited over an hour just to talk to someone. I went through five different delta employees and not a single one seemed to care that I was stuck at LAX with two kids for over 12 hours! Zero attempts to find a solution. When I returned to Terminal 3, Yvette immediately stepped in and directed me to Leah. Leah made multiple calls, took ownership of the situation, and didn't stop until she got answers. She was notified that my phone had been found just as the plane was about to board again. Cynthia then ran to retrieve my phone and brought it back to me. What happened to you, Delta? Do you only love me when I'm on an international flight. I'm on first class and I can't even get a blanket. It's not that the Stewardesses are unhelpful. It's just they have no resources. This is the second flight I've been on in a month That I am uncomfortably cold. There are other little nitpicky things. Not sure why people are upset but I took a rescue flight out of LAX because both Southwest and Alaska air don't have times that fit my schedule. I was coming out of a very insane 3 days from Coachella and was trying to get my emotions together after hearing The Marias sing the saddest breakup song I could ever hear. With some careful planning I was able to track down a non stop flight that would bring me to to where I live. I must say it's not so bad if you are traveling very short distances. I was very lucky to actually ride a flight that arrived in my destination early. The flight attendants are very nice and friendly. If you live in the Bay Area and are unable to take a flight early in the day, don't like transfers or are looking for a quick return home, Delta airlines does the work for you. Got me home just in time for a job interview. read more
