Predatory sales tactics! I have a service contract to have my system cleaned and filters changed. While I was out of town a service person came to conduct the cleaning. My parents were in town visiting and the service person alerted my dad to mold growing in the attic on the HVAC system and sold him a $1600 UV light oxidizer. Immediately after hearing about this I wrote Air Rescue and requested the pictures of the mold that were shown to my dad on the service techs phone. After 2 weeks and multiple emails I have still received no evidence the mold exists. My past 3 emails requesting a manager contact me for a resolution have gone unanswered. The company took advantage of my senior citizen father not being physically capable of climbing into the attic to look at what the service tech showed him and used his trusting nature against him to sell a system that is not needed. I purchased my home 8 years ago and after 1 year the HVAC system died. I dud research on 3 companies of which Air Rescue seemed to be the best. I had seen a few of their service vehicles in the development so I chose Air Rescue. They provided a quote for a new 3 ton system and installed it. The installation was fast and professional. Over the last two years the drain lines would clog consistently despite my monthly preventive maintenance measures of filter changes and vinegar down the drain lines. Many times I could clear it but many times I could not and it required a tech visit costing hundreds of dollars each incident. Many techs would just fix the issue and leave. Only one tech offered a root cause and soultion. It seemed extreme and I admit I dismissed it as some techs are commissioned based. One day about a month ago a senior tech came out unannounced and did a deep dive. He discovered what the first tech stated and more. The duct work was to small for the unit THEY installed causing the drain line issues and the whole unit to work harder and fail. They presented two quotes one with duct work one without. Why in the world would I say no duct work that caused my problems in the first place? I contacted two other companies and both stated the small duct work was the root cause. They provided quotes for duct work and a new system. They even did the 2K government rebate for me and the $750 TECO rebate that Air Rescue never mentioned. This was a 20K lesson learned one I hope nobody has to experience as I did. read more

Buyer be aware! I had utilized Air Rescue for a number of years and they at one time were good. However, over the last 1-2 years, I have found them to be untrained technicians who work under the master license of a technician. I have had them tell me a need a new AC unit, when I did not, and it was validated by another reputable company. I have been told by them I needed a new condensing drain line, when I did not and again validate by another licensed technician from another company. I have had them use the wrong parts in my unit, which actually created issues, a not fix the long-term problem. I had referred this company to others in my family, and unfortunately, they had similar circumstances. If you chose to call them, asked the Technician if they are personally licensed. You may be surprised at the answer, which will most likely be No!! Recommendation, just call another company they are not trustworthy! We called Air Rescue for yearly service on our Air Conditioner. Glen came out and serviced the A/C . He told us there was mold and stuff inside. So he looked at the duct we had in the attic and it had never been replaced. So we replaced it the next day. Upon them replacing it one of the working put either there knee or foot through my ceiling in the kitchen over the sink and I have this giant hole up there. I have been a paying Air Rescue client for over 15 years . I have purchased 2 air conditioning units and we are on the maintenance program. Over the past three years we've had three floods from our air handler into our dining room. Air rescue has repeatedly came out to our house to clean out the air handler pump that they installed. It continues to clog up and the air handler does not shut off so the water floods into our dining room which has destroyed our area rug are very expensive $5,500 China chest and stained our travertine floors.. As well, there is mold along the baseboards. The field tech manager Vince has came out to our home at least a dozen times over the past 8 years . His solution is to replace our seven-year-old air handler and condenser and move the air handler in our attic instead of in a closet outside our garage door entrance. I clean my air handler pump at least twice if not, three times a month. When their technician came out to our house last week, it was filled with slime and that's what overflowed the water in our dining room. My question to them, why is this continue to happen? Again their solution is to buy a new unit and put it up in the attic. So I called the general manager Kenny Newman and his solution was he was going to give me a new unit at cost to install into our attic when that time permits my wife and I to do this. I never received the email that he told me he would be writing on his proposal of installing a new AC unit and condenser in the next month or three months when my wife and I could afford it. In the meantime, he said he was going to have a tech come out and move the air handler pump drain through our concrete garage front wall. I asked him to please have our area rug replaced as it's been steam cleaned three times already and it smelled and it was ruined. He said he would ask his partner to get that approved. In the meantime, I was waiting for his email. Finally got an email the next day after I emailed him asking where his email was. And his response was his partner was ok for paying for the area rug. That cost is around $250. And he said that they're not responsible for any other damages and that I should get a new AC company. I ask everyone that's reading this that is looking for a dependable and reliable AC company. Well after 15+ years with air rescue. I most definitely would not go with them as they have gave my wife and I a false proposal from the owner himself and told us to go to a different AC company. What type of establishment after 15 years relationship would tell you to go to another AC company and they're not responsible for any of the damages That their unit that they installed, and they know there is a problem with the drainage overflowing. That there is too much cost involved and it's not worth having me and my wife as a customer anymore. These pictures don't lie you can most definitely see that there has been flooding and the damages that it's done.. Why buy a maintenance program? Why does an owner suggest a solution of changing out our current a/c unit and replacing it with a new one at cost and putting it in the attic instead of our closet in our garage that goes into our dining room. And then the next day emails me instead of calling me. I'm sorry we can only pay for your area rug and we're not responsible for the damages of your China chest or your travertine floor or the baseboards and they're not going to fix the pump to drain outside of our common garage wall instead of up in the attic that comes out outside garage wall. I bought a mini spilt unit in 2019. Actually 4 units, I asked the salesman over and over I can get buy a maintenance agreement because that's the only way I would buy the unit. Mind you I PD over 8200.00 for the system.He said of course we have a monthly payment plan so your covered ,I said perfect now I feel better. They delivered my outside unit damaged they were supposed to fix it the fins were crushed in, never happened. When installing they knocked a expensive clock off my wall and broke it and said they would give me my first year matience free, the air conditior comes with the first year free. So now the second year rolls around and I call about the maintenance agreement per month. They said their is no maintenance agreement on the mini spilt so the salesman lied straight to my face to get my sale. Knowing my husband just passed away, and I'm a senior citizen and disabled and live on a very limited in come. Believe me I didn't pay for the unit, it was done for health reasons for myself and my daughter who has since passed away, and they knew we were both I'll and my granddaughter had very bad asthma. So never did they come out to fix the outside unit. They did come out finally and clean them the first time for 200.00 but not the outside unit. Only because they lied to me to get a sale, and took advantage of a sick, disabled senior citizen that just lost her husband. And the news station in Tampa brags about how great they are, yeah to certain people but when its a cash deal look out. I should have checked the reviews here for calling them. I called Air Rescue as they were the ones who installed the system under the previous owners. The warranty did not transfer to me even though the unit was only a few years old and would have been covered for the previous owners. The pushy salesman tried to get me to replace my perfectly good working unit on the other side of the house along with the faulty unit. The cost was 20% higher than the company I ended up getting the work done with. "Just sign here and we'll get you on the schedule for tomorrow" turned out to be agreeing to a $500 non-refundable deposit, that was run on a card on file from a previous repair. I called to question the charge and was essentially told to kick rocks and there's nothing I could do about being out $500 even though no goods or services were provided. I was told someone would call me back about the charge "within 24 hours" which turned out to be 24 business hours aka 3 days, but 24 hours sounds better. The company I ended up going with was cheaper and didn't require a deposit. I think Air Rescue knows if they don't get a deposit from you, you will call someone else who will inevitably give you a better price. Shady business practices all around. read more

When you call in they are very rude to you if you ask them for more than an appointment. Such as, speaking to a manager or double checking what you paid for. We had a problem with our AC. At their recommendation we purchased a new one. Then there was problem after problem. It took several trips to fix it. Recently we called to schedule our maintenance plan, we were told that we didn't have one. However we specifically told our rep we wanted one so we assumed we did. The lady was very rude when asked to double check. She scheduled us for a service before we confirmed and when we cancelled because we wanted to make sure we had a plan, the owner accused us of asking for it for free (we didn't) then threatened to legal action against my Google review for slander. Which my review was based on my experience with this company. It's unsettling how the owner came at me for posting my experience with his company especially when you read other reviews and they have had similar experiences. The technicians are so nice and very helpful. I honestly would not have even posted a review if it weren't for the person answering the phone. They have been consistently rude since the beginning. I definitely wouldn't have posted a second review had the owner not threatened me on Google with legal action. I canceled my membership with Air Rescue, because they charged 350 dollars for a kick start when I could have gotten it done for 200. Their sells person told me they go for 600 and lead me to think I was getting a deal. He was also going to charge me 1750.00 to change my coils that was leaking freon. I've had Air Rescue install and service my AC units for over 22 Years. They are the most reliable, customer service-oriented organization I've dealt with. EVERY Tech is trained, patient, knowledgeable employee. On the rare occasion a problem required escalation, the Manager, or owner, totally exceeded anything I could expect, both in terms of fixing the problem, and providing a discount, without my even asking. Truly amazing AC company. They are consistently responsive, and ALWAYS come through with actions (not just words). They also NEVER replace parts/work that isn't REQUIRED. On Monday evening the air conditioner we purchased and installed by Air Rescue stopped operating. The system thermostat indicated fan failure which instructed us to contact dealer for service. This was the third time in 6 weeks the unit stopped working due to fan failure. The first incident was repaired by Air Rescue. A few weeks later, fan failure occurred again. We (my husband and I) contacted another vendor because Air Rescue could not come out in a timely fashion. The vendor resolved the fan problem and we were happy again. The third and last incident with the same fan failure happened Monday night, August 12th, 2024. Being after hours, we spoke with the Air Rescue answering service. We requested someone to immediately come out. Now, I know many others want immediate service, but our situation in my opinion was somewhat dire. My husband was being treated intravenously for a serious infection with meds that required to be kept cool (not refrigerated) The answering service could not offer for someone to immediately come out until 8am the next morning. The next day, 8am arrived and no Air Rescue. Another company came out to our Rescue and identified the problem and fixed it. If Air Rescue had correctly installed this unit from 2 1/2 years ago, the fan failure issue would not likely happen and I wouldn't be writing this negative review. As senior citizens, we feel preyed upon by Air Rescue and wonder who else has been abused by this company. We will be transferring all warranty issues to another company for service. But then, 30 minutes prior to my appointment I get a call stating they need to reschedule due number of calls for repairs. Earliest I can get an appointment for is 6/SIX weeks out. Called Air Rescue upon having a air conditioning problem. A technician Nicholas from Air Rescue arrived to my home the same morning my husband called. He was very prompt and phoned when on the way. He arrived first thing in the morning which we appreciated. He detected the problem and needed to order a part. He fixed it so we had cool air in the meantime. It took only a few days for Nicholas to return with the part. Again, he called when on the way and came first thing in the morning. My husband and I found Nicholas to be very pleasant and answer any questions we had. This is our first time using this company and so far so good. (We have cold air) The previous air conditioning company, Simpson, who our builder used was not good!! Their repairman claimed he did things we found out he didn't!! They actually refunded us some money back when we started questioning them about it! Unfortunately, most people are at their mercy when it comes to these types of repairs. We can only hope and pray we found honest technicians and companies to do the right thing! Time will tell. Just not good and my fault for not pushing at the right time. I had a new unit installed years ago - they had given me a choice of $2k to replace freon (which according to them would be a band aid) or $6k for a new unit. Of course I chose the new unit, less than a year later, my a/c is down - and several weeks before they can get 2 people here together to do a 2 person job (individual tech had showed before then but needed help) - this problem was due to them going cheap and not replacing wires when they did my original installation. During year 3, my a/c dies again - apparently a freon leak (according to them) - what did they do during the initial installation? They wanted $3k to fix that. I've used Air Rescue since 2014 and they have normally been pretty consistent in their response and service. I purchased their silver maintenance plan which includes twice-yearly checks of my two A/C units, and Air Rescue has diligently called to schedule the appointments with no problem. I was not called for the last six month checkup, and when I realized it they told me it's my responsibility to call them. I did so (now 10 months later) and they scheduled it for 4/11/23. I called this morning (4/11) to confirm and they told me I had to reschedule as they had a large number of down unit calls. I can understand that, but the next earliest date available is now 5/3/23. I don't understand why I have to wait another 3 weeks for service that will now be almost a year later. I'm paying monthly for my silver "service" and I don't feel like Air Rescue is giving me my money's worth at this point. read more

When I call to have someone come out and look at it they said someone would be out same day. It's been 2 weeks since that was initially said and everyday I've been rescheduled with some BS reason. On July 25 Air Rescue came out to my house for their Total System Rejuvenation service on my AC unit. The tech said everything checked out well. The following Thursday the system just quit. They came out the next day and that tech said the compressor was shot and would cost about $2500. So I asked for an estimate for a new system both the unit and air handler. He quoted me a price of $8,000 for a Rheem 14 SEER system. I told him that was way too much and he 'called' to see if the price could be lower. He came back with $7700. He also suggested a UV light system to cut back on mold in the air handler at a cost of about $700. He also said they could 'probably' get the new system installed the following day leaving us with out A/C for at least a day or maybe longer. I explained my wife and I had to talk it over and go to the bank and asked if he could come back in an hour. He said he could just wait in the driveway. I did not want that so he 'went to lunch" While he was here, I called a local AC company, AMEN AIR. They came out when the Air Rescue tech was 'at lunch' and quoted me a price of $6000 for an Amana 16 SEER unit with a much better factory warranty than Rescue Air had offered ( Amen Air warranty was 10yr parts/labor + lifetime warranty on compressor). The owner of AMEN AIR came out for the estimate and said it would be at least a week before they could install the new unit. HOWEVER --- he said he could put a temporary AC unit in at NO COST so we wouldn't be without AC. They even re-checked my system prior to stating the unit was shot and noticed the compressor and accumulator was going bad. ....... After I agreed to their deal and left, Amen Air had a crew out about an hour later, took out my old AC unit and installed the " loaner unit" --- at no cost! The Air Rescue tech came back and I told him I am going with another company. He wasn't very happy and criticized Amen Air's product and told me ' when it breaks down, call and we will fix it" I told him it won't be for 10 years because of the better warranty Other reasons I didn't go with Air Rescue other than the price of course was the 'pressure tactic' used by their tech and trying to sell 'add ons' with the system. He was upset because I was calling others to get a better price also. Buying an AC system is expensive investment and anyone would try to get a better price and service. PLUS Air Rescue didn't offer a 'loaner' unit to keep us cool until they could install theirs as the owner of AMEN AIR did. In the long run, I got a better unit with a better SEER rating, a much better warranty and saved almost $2,000. PLUS a loaner AC unit so we could keep cool while waiting for AMEM AiR to install our new unit. read more

Be very aware of this company, which focuses solely on money. Tech came to the house, told me I needed a new unit (which I knew, even though it still ran). Right away gave me quote of $9300, this was NOT an itemized quote. He said I could have it installed that day. Did a credit check, I was declined from that source. Instead of asking me if he could continue to check with other creditors, he had another bank pull my credit. He did not have permission to pull my credit a second time. I was in my office, and I could hear him on speaker phone. I went with a local reputable company who is charging me almost 1/2 the price for the same (I expect) service. The company I went with told me I did not need the ducts replaced as Air Rescue tech told me I did. I should have stopped payment on the check I wrote for the visit, that was really a "Hustle". They installed an air conditioning unit to the house. It has had 4 preventable issues since then. The most recent one is causing the air not to get cold. It has been in the mid-80's for 2 weeks. They said they don't have the part to fix the issue, a thermal expansion valve. But a simple google search shows this part is available from multiple sources. The installation was under warranty. I am very disappointed with this company's service. If you have an older system, that they can continue to charge you to replace/repair or service, it is usually one day service; but always with suggestions to upgrade or replace your current system. So, we did. In June 2022, we purchased a new Rudd system from Air Rescue/10 year warranty with the manufacturer and the "Service" agreement with Air Rescue. In March of this year, our unit started making a loud noise. They sent someone out to replace the fan blades and the motor. This did not correct the problem. It is now May 2023 and after numerous calls to the office , multiple texts with videos; to the supervisor and to a manager with this company, the unit is still making a loud noise (which is outside our master bedroom window) and nothing has been done. I contacted them in March. I contacted them in April and i contacted them in May. I called again this morning, because unfortunately , no one from this company has responded. I hate that this happened. I am a small business owner and feel bad when I have to write bad reviews but I hope that companies can learn from them. I made an appointment last summer to get my air conditioners serviced- just a check up. I am a very busy business owner so I specifically set up a time that I knew that I could definitely e home. The morning of the scheduled visit I got a call saying they had to cancel due to other more important calls that the tech had to make. I was not happy. I blocked off my schedule all morning to be home. I wrote a review and mentioned why I was writing a not so great review. Right after the review was posted a manager called to apologize. I explained why I was so upset and tried to explain how helpful would be if we were told when making the appointment that there was a chance that we may get "bumped" for emergencies so that we would at least be aware that it could happen. She agreed and then comped my service when the tech came out. Fast forward a year- I thought that since they were apologetic with what had happened and the tech was super nice and professional when he came out that I would give the company another try. I made an appointment for 2 weeks out so I could block off my schedule in order to be home. The morning of the service no one ever showed, I was never left a message or was called by anyone. At 12pm when my service time frame was up I called in to be told that they had in my file that I was called that morning to let me know they were cancelling the service call. At that time I looked in my phone record- no call, message or text from the company. I own my own company and always have my phone near me to answer calls and no such call came in. When I told them what happened they insisted that someone called me. I asked to talk to a manager- none were available. I was told that they would return my call asap. The next day rolled around. I received a text automated message asking me to call to talk to a manager. I called in but was told again no manage was available and she would personally tell her manager to calm asap. its after 5pm- no call back. Why do people ave to own and run a business so badly? Wouldn't it be much more lucrative to run a business the right way. I may give someone a second chance- things happen- but never a third. My AC unit was installed end of 2017 and this past weekend it was freezing up so I changed the filter, and I figured it would be an easy fix since it is a newer unit. They came out and said there was a leak, but they couldn't find the leak so they would need to charge me $431 to put dye in. And then they said it would probably end up being $1K for a new coil - and it was also $50/Gallon to add Freon. So I decided LUCKILY to just get some Freon put in, but he couldn't even figure out how to do that. So, he said that since it wasn't frozen any more at least it would be cool enough to get through the night and get more quotes, because I didn't trust this opinion. Long story short - I woke up and my AC was blowing hot air and my house was 99 degrees, and I think I had a mini heat stroke because I was hallucinating. My animals were all not feeling well. If this was an old person, they could have died. I had a different company come out and tell me that the only issue was that there was a wire knocked lose. There was no need for anything else, and the guy from Air Rescue somehow reversed it so that hot air was blowing. Now my AC is working perfectly and this other company fixed the issue for FREE because they felt so bad. The guy who did this needs to go back to school before he really kills someones pets. Florida heat is not something to mess with. Also, Air Rescue was at my house for like 2 hours and this guy fixed it in 20 minutes and it has been perfect. **Update** Since Air Rescue was very professional with resolving this issue I wanted to add a few stars - thank you for that! read more

Air Rescue is terrific. Our air went out the other day. I called and the technician, Grant, arrived at our house within an hour. He had our system back up and running in less than an hour. I highly recommend Air Rescue and liked how quickly Grant was able to diagnose and fix our problem. read more

Air Rescue came out and did what they said they would. Overall, they seem to do a good job and Nathan was very courteous. However, after several years of having them come out for routine inspections, which is required to maintain the warrantee, I have come to dread their arrival. They always have a recommendation to improve this, or upgrade that for some high fee. It's basically a sales job when all I really want is a working AC. It's like letting a vacuum salesman into your house...they're going to be pushing something that you don't want...and probably don't need. read more

2 stars because they tried to make a wrong right. However they messed it up again sending an aggressive, condescending individual who insisted I needed a brand new AC!!!! This person actually came to give me an ESTIMATE on a repair. He told me I wasted his time by not committing to his sales pitch! I was flabbergasted! Next I cancelled the monthly withdrawals I had signed up for. A month later while checking my bank statements-you guessed it-the withdrawals continued! Now there's a person who answers the phone who is extreme polite. He must take a lot of bull from folks! I wish him well. And I wish you well in choosing an AC/Heating company. read more
