Have used Air Specialties for years for general maintenance as well as emergency services. We use their maintenance program and have always been happy with the service we received. The biggest reason I'd recommend is the after hours/emergency service. I have had 2 instances where our HVAC went out (older unit) and the 24 hour service tech was so kind, went through basic troubleshooting with me and then came out that evening (both times over the weekend, once a holiday weekend) to help get the AC back up and running. I had a new unit placed in Sept 2022. Was under the impression that I had a warranty. As it turns out, the warranty does not really cover you. I started hearing a buzzing noise coming from the unit, so I called to have someone come out and take a look. Here is what I was told "We charge 99 dollars to come out and diagnose plus parts". So just beware while they are very nice, they are going to charge you every time they come out regardless of warranty. I should have stayed with Carolina Heating an Air, they actually stood behind their warranty. The first 10 years they never charged me a dime to come out and fix any issue. read more

The technicians that replaced my entire system were extremely professional, proficient, and polite. They spent hours making sure the system was properly installed and working correctly. Saturday at 8am HVAC down because of an attempt by us to install a Nest. Spoke to technician immediately and he promised to arrive within 1 hour. Not only did he arrive on time but he was tech savvy and installed the Nest! (which I thought I would have to return). Awesome, Awesome Service and a nice guy!!! OVERCHARGED! Took advantage of a landlord calling from out of state. They said they'd call prior to doing work, but went ahead and did it anyway, with me having to call a day later to find out what was wrong and how much it cost. I guess the topic for me with this review is how much money do you need to make off of other peoples misfortunes. I have been with Air Specialties for over 15 years and they put my last HVAC unit in 2005. Being that I was in the military and constantly deployed overseas I relied on them to keep the house cool or heated for my family. However, since my retirement I have regained some of these responsibilities and have been disappointed several times to the point I have switched companies, who are now putting a whole new unit in to include the duct system. I no longer have trust in this company and here are some of my reasons why; I have serviced my unit twice a year faithfully for the last 15 years only to learn, at least with one visit, that the service personnel came out but didn't service the unit. However, the company made it right and sent another person out to complete the job. Recently, the capacitor went out, a part that cost anywhere from $15.00 to 26.00 online and was charged $236.00, when asked why, I was told it was stocking cost as well as labor but was charged that as well. Recently the coils, in the air handler, went out, which is 15 years old and they quoted me 3000.00 for the job and 1100 for the coolant a 800.00 part and... After, consulting and researching this problem it was advised that a unit this old and with this amount of overall, the entire unit should be replaced. I have had several suppliers and companies come out and only one of them performed IAW: the law and codes. As stated, Air Specialities put in my first unit replacement but never discussed Manuel J calculations or Manuel D Calculations. My advise to anyone, is research your costly investment no matter how small, a part with 2 screws and 2 plug on wires that cost 24.00 dollars and charged 300.00 dollars should make anyone go "hum." I am currently and recently retired from the military and helping out 2 families through these difficult times and it is hard for me to fathom. I understand that everyone has to make money but at what cost?.... I wish this business the best; however, after 15 years I can no longer do business with people of this type of caliber. My advice is to research your options and companies you do business with, as not all have your best interest in mind. read more

Very pleased with the service I received from Air Specialties. The HVAC in our rental property went out in the middle of an especially hot week in July. After providing an estimate, Air Specialties told me they could get the unit I wanted in stock and installed later that week. I really wanted it sooner and I called around to find another contractor, all of whom came in well over Air Specialties' estimate...for the same exact unit! Not only did they provide the best price, but the owner, Kyle, spent time speaking to me over the phone about the options available to me and providing his honest and professional opinion (even when he thought I was ordering the unit from another company!). We got an appointment for the next day and they got my 30 year old system working but we opted to get it replaced.
