The owner of Air Squad is Not customer friendly. I spoke with him one time on the phone and he was being uncaring, I actually told him that he wasn't being very nice. They had a recording of it and when I was told that, they agreed. And every time when one of their Hispanic technicians (don't remember name) comes out, all he wants to do is sell me something. No, I'm not being racist. They only offer M-F 8-5 service. Wish I had realized that before I started using them. What AC company doesn't offer 24/7 service, especially in Texas?! They also auto renewed my account with no advance notice. The only way I caught it was when I was reviewing my CC statement. Not everyone actually reviews their statements, so beware. So the house we just bought had a new AC installed in 2021 and it stopped cooling for some reason. I had all the documentation and warranty info so I called air squad and not only was i connected to someone right away but they offered to come out that same day/evening. I ended up figuring out what the problem was and was able to cancel but the responsiveness I thought was awesome. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because even with a warranty it was going to be a 99 dollar service fee charged. Feel like if you purchase extended support and you have issues within that window, it should be covered. read more

My system needed replacement so I had several quotes within minutes and the work commenced first thing Monday morning. They even recommended a drywall repair company since a ceiling was destroyed by water and that work was completed by Thursday- can't even tell there was ever a problem. The capacitor itself being replaced.. Air Squad wanted $400 and up. JB Watson charges $125! I am overwhelmed at how much Air Squad wanted to HOSE US. Watch out! They charge $79 for coming the check out the AC and give rediculous price. If you don't fix it, they still have $79. For example, charging freon for $700 while others only $240! Lying about pumping 10 lbs freon cost $1000 while my AC system only needs about 5 lbs. Recommended replace the complete AC system for $7700 for just basic system of 14 seers, while others only $5800 for the same brand and seers. Well, I am not an idiot. The owner of this company has NO INTEGRITY. I'm an out of state landlord and easy prey. House #1 had refrigerant leak in 2013. Tech said I needed a whole new system. Tech said they only carry Lennox (most expensive brand.) $7683 for the whole new system. This included a furnace. Why do you need a new furnace when you have a refrigerant leak? I was not informed that I was buying a furnace. I would never have authorized the purchase of a furnace. House #2 had refrigerant leak in 2014. Tech said refrigerant theft is very common and put a lock on unit. Problem solved. Today, 8/17/2015, I'm talking to tech about unit repair in House #2 and asked him why, in the case of a refrigerant leak, I would need a new furnace. He said I wouldn't. I asked tech what brand of units they sell, he said American Standard. I told him I thought they only sell Lennox, he said they sell very few Lennox systems. I called owner to talk about this and he was immediately defensive with me. An owner who wants to solve a problem does not get on the phone defensively. These people prey on ignorance.
