So I got this wild idea to start a new hobby in the near future and God know I don't need another hobby to empty my pockets... Brew craft beer... oh here we go again. In this endeavor I had purchased a few Cornelius kegs aka corney kegs that will be holding my homebrewed intoxicating fluids. All good until I find out I need co2 to force carbonate the beer.. which led me to purchasing a empty two 5lb tanks online which led to... You guessed it! Filling the co2 tanks somewhere local. Jumped on yelp and found this place Air Unlimited. Called them up and they said "Yes you can bring in your own tanks and we will fill them as long as the tank has not passed the experation date." Pew...! Because after some research online ... I learned that most places only do exchanges meaning bring your own tank and exchange for one of theirs (an eyesore looking one) or pay a deposit fee for the tank on loan. One place indicated it would be a hundred bucks for a filled 5lb tank on an exchange rate then 35 bucks for each exchange after. I made the drive from Salinas to Pajaro area (20 mins from my house) and pulled into the parking lot... The parking lot was busy as it is shared with a few other businesses.. I managed to find parking and was immediately spotted by one of their employees who knew what I needed and assisted me with the filling my brand new red colored Kegco 5lb co2 tanks. The service was fast and and the gentleman who assisted me was friendly he even help me load them in my 4 door bucket . I was then escorted to the office where another gentleman rang me up. This guy was way cool and he seem the be all about customer service . He even thanked me for coming in. It cost me approximately 17 bucks to have each tank filled. Beats the 100 tank exchange for 1 tank else where. I learned that they fill tanks for beer gas (nitrogen/co2 mix for nitro beers/coffee) along with other industrial gases such as but not limited propane. Great source for helium for balloons! Great gas, excellent price, nice people. Planning a second birthday party for our twins, we set the theme at things they love: balloons, bubbles and cats. We booked the birthday gazebo at the local park and, knowing I wanted lots of balloons for all the kids, I set to find balloon gas. There is currently a shortage of tanked helium, and it can be very hard to find. These guys had pure helium in stock and at a great price. Because I was using giant 20" balloons, I needed a pretty big tank. They were able to hook me up for about half the price "over the hill", and had no extra charge for a new balloon fill nozzle. While we bought our balloons online, they had plenty available (along with all needed balloon supplies). The party was a big hit with everyone, and seeing the giant helium balloons bopping above kids from across the park was awesome. I fill my propane tanks and CO2 tanks here. The prices are good and the service is always quick and friendly. With propane, they only charge you for the volume you receive, unlike flat rate tank exchanges! It's always cheaper... And you know your tank is full. read more

We've been coming here about 4 months to get dry ice to use with Cold Caps while my wife is going through chemotherapy. This is a family-owned business and they are the friendliest, most helpful, reliable group of folks you would ever want to do business with. They offer a discount for chemo patients, but even if they didn't I would still do business with them, because they made everything so easy, and are so nice. If you ever need one of their products, don't even think twice - just go there. Things have been tough enough going through this time in our lives. This is a very professional shop with all the common gasses needed for welding and industrial supply. They also have helium which is in somewhat short supply (call ahead first). Albert the owner understand tank testing, applications, and the shop supplies all of the mainstream consumables needed for proper welding and gas use. They have a large CO2 tank on-site for those beer fridges! Their prices are very competitive, and are flexible for large purchases. Highly recommended. They now have my long-term business after Apex supply in Santa Cruz has changed hands for about the fifth time. read more
