Exceeded my expectations! Knowing this was an older roadside motel I wasn't expecting much but it definitely exceeded expectations. It was very clean-the attention to detail in cleanliness was better than some chain hotels I had stayed in recently and was definitely better than one of the other local 3 story hotels I stayed in during a previous visit. Yes you are going to hear people walking above you or neighboring units when they run water but I expected that. Parking is tight but there is definitely room to back out without backing into the street. read more

My friend and I stayed here for the night so we could drive out to Cape Flattery and Hoh Rainforest by morning. The lobby smelt heavily of cigarette residue and our room wasn't ready at check in despite us spending 2 hours walking around/eating dinner. That was alarming. It appeared that they sold our double beds to someone else. The motel is family owned and operated, so hearing the kids of the owner was to be expected. The exterior of the motel is outdated as well as the lobby. I was a bit skeptical about staying here considering the motels alongside I45 Houston is all get out sketchy with rapid prostitution. However, when my friend and I walked into Room 129, it was renovated modern. My friend said, he booked a night for the raving reviews on bed softness and comfortability. The room had two beds, but one was a rolling bed. I got the big double bed, it indeed was a very plush mattress with pillows. I didn't see any stains or bugs (well, I hadn't seen a bug since I've been in the Pacific Northwest). The restroom was questionable since there was rust in the bathtub, but the water ran hot. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap are tiny; so be sure to bring your own. Parking is tight; we arrived by 9:00 PM and there was barely enough slots. Only one. The motel is close to restaurants and the view of the sea. I'd stay here again if I was in the area. read more

When we pulled up to this motel we were immediately concerned because it looked very run down. Thankfully, the room itself was renovated and way more modern looking than the outside or lobby is. We had a king room on the first floor for one night. There was no outlet on one side of the king bed which is very annoying if you like to charge your phone on your nightstand when you sleep. Also, the mattress was HORRIBLE. IT was one of those foam type ones that basically felt like you were sleeping on hard sand at the beach. The free WiFi worked well, on the plus side. But the faucet in the bathtub was broken so water ran from both the shower head and the spout below, at the same time. You can hear all of the street noise outside the window, and it's a busy thoroughfare. There was an air conditioning unit, but we didn't use it. There was parking right out front of our door, and the motel sits on an intersection with a one-way street. There's a pass-through area so you don't have to drive all the way around the block if you want to change sides of the motel. We were here for just an overnight so it wasn't the end of the world, but I don't think we would stay here again, if we were to be in the area. It's a great location if you're looking to go to Olympic National Park. read more

Great service from the ladies at the front desk. This was a last minute booking to chase the northern lights. This is an older building and as the sign says, it's a Motel not a fancy Hotel with all the bells & whistles. The room & property was very, very clean. Inside the room had modern touches. New tv, & lighting, fresh paint job. A super comfortable bed & pillows. I wish more places would upgrade to laminate flooring like Aircrest. No strange smells or stains to contend with. Good water pressure and height for the shower head. And a great view from the common area balcony for some Aurora shots. read more

This motel was just recently updated. We were pleasantly surprised to see a clean hardwood floor and a clean room in general. I knew we would be checking in late so I called ahead and the person who answered the phone left a message for the night shift. When we arrived around 11:00, I thought we would have to ring a bell or call a phone number, but the front desk person was waiting for us! I read that this motel was family owned. It definitely has a family vibe, and the front desk person was gracious about having to wait up for us. The motel is on a busy road and it does have a small parking lot. If you're a light sleeper I would suggest ear plugs. I use a CPAP machine and there was a perfect side table for it with a plug nearby. We couldn't get the tv to work and I could see dust under the heater vent but the bathroom was clean. The toiletries are small (tiny chip of soap, ketchup-sized packets of shampoo), so bring your own. The hair dryer worked well. This motel is very close to the ferry terminal (we had an early ferry and appreciated being able to sleep in) and close to the National park. Also, I can't say enough about the mattress. It's memory foam and for the first time in a long time, I didn't wake up with a sore back! read more

I booked a room a week before my trip. It's affordable ($130 w/ taxes) and clean. Since it's a budget stay, I didn't expect much. The walls are kind of thin - I could hear talking outside. Our family had to give this place a review. I was shocked that it's only a 3 at the moment. It's next to a main small town road, and the door did have some air that let the noise come thru but it wasn't horrible enough to keep us awake. The bed can slide if you lean against it so don't come for the hanky panky, but like I said it was a family trip and my daughter was in the room too everything was super clean!!! The picture displayed was beautiful. The coffee maker was simple to use and they offered Dunkin' Donuts pod coffee which I was in heaven over! The beds and pillows were comfortable. I'm a cheapskate so I chose the cheapest around-when we pulled up I legit got scared and regretted my decision...but they came thru and pulled it off. Reminded me of a whole in the wall Mexican restaurant in Texas. Looks a little shady on the outside but amazing service. Husband had hot water the whole shower, and there were 3 bottles of shampoo left and it was enough for a long haired woman to use one bottle for (not sure of the earlier reviews that addressed this, coffee, and rugs). For the first time ever I didn't hear kids running back and forth or loud people in general at night or in am. They also recommended the restaurant across the street for breakfast and it was AMAZINGGGGG! We'd definitely stay here again! read more

Yay! A great new hotel choice in Port Angeles ! Rooms are clean, all redone, nice comforter, new bathroom, and the best is there is no carpet! The bed was comfy memory foam, the receptionist was kind and it was quiet. I did not use the tv or the refrigerator. Gone are the days of either over paying or staying in a rundown scary place. Yay! There are some nice touches to this motel. The mattresses are memory foam and so comfortable. Blankets and flooring look updated. However, the door doesn't meet the floor and soundproofing really doesn't exist. And then you factor in the price which bizarrely got more expensive mid-week? It is an affordable place to stay. It is clean and neat. Some things that bothered us were the AC (cannot be readjusted which way the air flowed) and the way they have the bathroom divided by the sink, which made the bathroom really small to move around. It would be nice to add an extra light on top of the study table. The room was quite dim. Only 2 night lights and one room light. The sink light was helping, but not much. read more

Ah, the Aircrest. I have vivid memories of this unique Port Angeles institution yet unfortunately, none of them are all that good. I ended up here as a nod to economy like so many visitors who find themselves in this working port city for just a few hours and rebel against paying unrealistically high rates for budget accommodations in brand name lodgings. The price was right: about $60 for a room. Unfortunately, as I've realized over the years, you really do get what you pay for and then maybe even a bit less. The Aircrest is right on East Front Street - the main one-way drag coming into town. It's a three lane motor way where drivers tend to go way too fast as they approach the commercial center of town. My 'suite of rooms' was just two doors down from the front of the Aircrest thus I heard just about everything whizzing by and crashing outside. Time has not been kind to The Aircrest which, if nothing else, is a relic of the 60's that has seen too few renovations over the past forty plus years. Don't come here thinking you're going to discover some kitchy northwest motor court of yesteryear because you'd be sorely disappointed. What you will find is working wifi, a clean bed, indoor/outdoor type carpeting in the room, a small bathroom [with soap and shampoo] and a television that worked sort of ok. But the neighborhood, the noise, the anxiety of my car sitting outside all left me cool despite the budget pricing. Did I get through the night? Yes. Did anything untoward happen to my car? No. Would I stay again? Very likely no. It's just too rough - kind of like camping indoors. And I hate camping! read more

This place was so great! My boyfriend and I were visiting the Olympic Peninsula, and on our way around we stopped in Port Angeles for the night. We usually just stop anywhere for the night. We were sooo pleasantly surprised by this motel! The inside was very modern and updated, so we could tell they upkeep the place. It was extremely clean, the set up was nice. We had to use the a/c at night and it worked so well, it cooled us off quick. They had a few pods for coffee and a microwave and a small fridge. The beds were clean, and comfy pillows. Lots of blankets for whatever your jam is. The front desk agent was super sweet and friendly when we had arrived. All together a plus. Also very close to convenient stores, and food places for dinner, and bars! It was such a great experience. read more

This should be an A-OK three-star budget motel, but it isn't. No coffee maker, no refrigerator, no security lock on the door, no blackout curtains on an east-facing window (5am bright sunshine), no continental breakfast, weak wifi internet, not completely cleaned bathroom, somewhat dirty sheets, wall outlets which did not work, etc... And Bullwinkle is not a picky guy. For $50-60/night he expects only a clean room with basic hotel functions (see above, and we could even leave out the breakfast/refridge) but clean and functional is necessary for A-OK three stars. Quite simply, the 'bang for the buck' is lacking and in a budget motel that's what it's all about. That said, the walls are thick enough to mute out most sounds nearby... This is a budget motel, that also has weekly rentals. The rooms are very small. Flat television on the wall. Fridge and micro. All are non smoking. There is a free computer, and printer in the lobby. Some of the residents are questionable. But the walls are thick. Location is excellent. Near the center of town, and waterfront trail. read more

No flip over security lock on the door. The parking area is scary. The room looks over a rusty metal building. The plugs are very inadequate if you have multiple devices to plug in. The location is noisy due to proximity to traffic and thin walls. I could not understand the first staff person I talked to so I called back saying my connection was poor and another staff and was quoted a price 20.00 higher. I would look around for any other place. At 115 for a queen prebooked this was a very poor and would have been even at 75. This is worth abut 55. read more

The listing online also said there would be continental breakfast which was why we ended up booking with them but there was was only coffee. The owner was nice enough to hold the room for us last minute, and she was super friendly when we got in tired and ready to crash. The room was very clean and not cramped (the photos made the rooms look small but our room was great), and the AC worked well and the price was reasonable too. What a pleasant surprize. This little motel seems outdated from the exterior, but provides all one needs to stay over and get a good nights sleep. Our king bed was firm and comfy the place clean and bathroom spotless with white towels. We stayed in #116 which we were offered So we could unload easily and it was in the corner so it was quiet even though the street is busy. We ran the AC box on FAN ONLY continuous buttom thru the night so we had fresh air but no road noise. Room is a bit stuffy when you arrive but the AC box provides fresh air. Small fridge and microwave too. Very affordable for a trip thru the Olympic Area or to catch the Victoria bound Ferry. Staff very friendly and available. Couldn't figure out how to get the TV volume to work, so we watched the Olympics soundless, but it was too late to bother theh staff, Would stay here again for sure. SUSAN & TED read more

The Aircrest is a '60's style two-story motel which has been reasonably maintained and somwhat updated. It offers acceptably clean and comfortable rooms to budget travelers who are visiting nearby Olympic National Park. The motel is located near the eastern end of downtown between the two streets that form highway 101. It is one block east of the entrance road to the park. In spite of a no-smoking policy, the rooms do smell a bit of residual smoke (possibly from weekly guests who usually smoke outside), but this odor is not so noticeable after the first few minutes. Hallways are outdoors, so curtains must remain closed. The bathrooms have tub/shower combos, with a sink and dressing area adjacent. Climate control is by below-window units that worked well. The cable TV is flat screen with several dozen channels. The phone was the only part of my room that needed better cleaning. There is no surcharge for toll-free calls, wi-fi is free (I did not try it), and there is a free internet computer in the lobby for guests. There is also a modest but welcome cold breakfast in the lobby each morning. At less than fifty dollars per night , my queen bed room was a bargain for Port Angeles in high season. If you are traveling on a budget and are not a style maven, I recommend this value-priced option in a town where most motels cost about twice as much. read more

I wish I could give this place less than one star, as this was probably the worst experience I ever had staying at a motel. The owner/manager was flat out rude to me and got into two arguments with me during the stay. The first concerned me reserving the room through priceline.com, and he wanted to argue about the reservation, making it very clear that he was not pleased with that booking system; I really had no argument to make and simply wanted to just pay for my room, but his attitude was a huge red flag. The second argument concerned an age lock on the TV in our room. The age lock on our TV only allowed us to watch television shows with a rating of TV14 and below, so I called the the owner/manager to ask him if this could be unlocked, as the TV prompted for a PIN when I wanted to watch basically anything that comes on TV/cable after 6:00pm. He immediately said there was nothing he could do about, indicating this was a problem he already knew about. I asked him how he was unable to do anything about it since it was his cable operating system. He then asked me, "what are you trying to watch?" To make a long story short, the conversation degraded quickly into a full argument; if I had not already paid directly to this inappropriate man, I would have just left this motel for good. Finally, the room was dirty (e.g. the microwave had not been cleaned in who knows how long), the comforter on the bed had holes in it, and there was no security lock on the door. read more
