You get what you pay for. Don't expect anything fancy. It's a motel. If that doesn't bother you then it's all good. But if you come here with higher expectations then yeah, this won't be your cuppa tea. We wanted to go to the Olympic National Park, and saw that most peeps stay around the Port Angeles area if not camping inside the park. Therefore, we were looking for somewhere cheap, as we really just needed a place to crash. We found Riviera Inn through Expedia at a price tag that would have us save our pennies for what's more important like dining out and activities during our time in the Olympics. Therefore, for us, it was an A-OK place. Riviera Inn is located near the main downtown area of Port Angeles, so it was walking distance to businesses and the waterfront. It has free parking, rooms with a king bed, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, heater, cable and free wifi. When we arrived to Port Angeles, we arrived a couple hours before the 3pm check-in, but the staff let us check-in earlier, which was super nice. Staff was very friendly here. (Note that they are not doing room service during COVID-19; however, if you need anything, just contact the front desk.) The bed was actually pretty comfortable. I liked the location of this place the best, as we walked everywhere around town and was an easy drive to the national park and highway. But some cons were that it had a musky smell to it, so we kept the window in the bathroom open to air it out. That didn't help much though, as we could smell the musk on our clothes in our luggage when we got home. Another con is that the walls are thin. Unless the TV is turned on, we could hear the neighbors watching their TV. But honestly, this wasn't a bad place to stay in Port Angeles if you're looking for an affordable place to sleep around the national park. Most everyone that was here the holiday weekend we visited was visiting the park. No huge complaints with this place. read more

There is a reason this place has a low rating. We had a reservation and prepaid through Booking.com for two nights in a two queen bed room. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told they only had a single queen bed room which we took as we had no other choice at that point. We were still charged for the two queen bed room which was $45+tax extra a night, but we were in the single bed room. The hotel refused to refund the difference, and they refused to agree to the refund with Booking.com as well. The place is a dump, centrally located but rooms were very dirty, outlets and lights not working, and their hotel staff are simply criminal in their business practices. Travelers beware. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

It's an older motel that's showing its age, but the room we were given was really clean. I love when rooms have laminate flooring instead of carpet. This one had the former, which in my mind makes it easier to clean the floors. Our room had two queen beds, along with a desk, a small tv, microwave, and an oversized mini-fridge. The location is pretty good. Close enough to the entrance to Olympic NP and only three blocks down the street from the waterfront area. read more

We made last minute reservations here since it was the cheapest room in Port Angeles. The road leading up to it is a bit run down, and the building appears similar on the outside, but they were painting it and fixing it up when we woke up in the morning, so maybe it will look cleaner soon. The room we got was next to the utility closet. It has a fridge and microwave which was a score! It was clean and quiet and we got a great night sleep. read more

We had a great stay at the Rivera Inn in Port Angeles. A room was comfortable and clean and the showers were found tastic. The location is cellar and located right by the waterfront and the ferry to Victoria. It's also located near all the cool shops and restaurants in town. The owner David and his staff were always cheerful and incredibly friendly and very accommodating. To all our needs, the price was excellent and the parking is secure overall. The best motel in Port Angles. Period, including the Red Lion at four bills a night. The difference, strong hands on management. Caring about his workers, not using them, and it shows in the guests experience. My room would be better if it had a tub instead of just a shower. But not being treated like a tourist to be robbed is beyond words happiness. Don't mug David for his time, he is busy thawing out freezers, and hands on trying the staff. WOW read more

Decent price but... Free internet, only cuz it's non existent! I couldn't get any work done, it's worse than dial up. The rooms have been "remodeled" if that's what you call it. You can hear everything going on in the rooms above and around you but hey, we're all friends right? I think the renovation contractor is as an elementary woodworking class. Honestly if you're looking for a place to sleep it's just ok. Time of stay: July 30th-31st, 2024 (A popular time for people to visit the national state park.) Employee at the front desk was polite and got us the room quickly. As we entered the room we noticed that there was a portable A/C unit, which allowed lots of noise to come into the room. Later that night, I decided to dismount the portable A/C Unit so I can shut the window for less noise, and a safer environment as it's normally just a screen to the outside walkway. In the morning I used the coffee maker, and believe me that coffee is extremely bland and dry; I don't know the brand. In the morning we left the hotel, but there wasn't any parking left overnight for other people to park in, so you'll have to park on the street as overflow parking. Beds weren't the most comfortable, so were the pillows. Room had Wi-fi, but it was terrible (Best speed being .44 MPBS.) We forgot a bag but house keeping was kind enough to let us come by to pick it back up, something I wasn't expecting them to do in a cheap motel. 3/5 Stars, may stay again if I'm the area. read more

Dirty dirty dirty! I give one star cause my sheets and my bathroom was some what clean! But there was also a spider in my shower sooo yea! For the price 140.00 bucks this was so not worth it! Dirty everything! I get that it is a motel so tacky decorated room I expect. But there is no excuse for ac not to work and the cleaner to just not wipe Down anything ever in the room. 3 sibs spent the night here having made a reservation about an hour before arriving in Port Angeles for an impromptu couple of days away from Seattle. As others have said, the room was clean and inviting with a coffee maker and fridge, plus wifi and cable t.v. The folks running the place were friendly, helpful and offered eating suggestions when asked. The hotel is on a very busy street but we closed the window and turned on a fan for "white noise" and slept well. Would return here when coming to Port Angles. read more

It's a no-class motel. There was not a phone in our room and the towels had black eye makeup on them. That said, it was cheap and we were able to get a room after ten PM. For an inexpensive motel, the place isn't all bad but it also looks a lot like the sort of hotel where Castle and Beckett find and solve murder cases. For an unplanned stay in Port Angeles, I was glad to at least find an open room since all the other hotels were full. And though the hotel itself was a sketchy, the people at the desk were kind and the internet was free. read more

NO AC. I didn't think I would see a motel without one but here we are. Overall the room was okay. Sure, you get what you pay for, but no AC for $145 a night? This would be a $60/night motel anywhere else, and even they would have AC. I can imagine it doesn't get too hot most of the year here, but with the new heat wave it was absolutely baking in the rooms. The rest of the room was as expected for a run down motel. This is an OK place to stay overnight if you are taking the Black Ball Ferry or going up to Hurricane ridge - simple clean and Very friendly. Due to a bad leg - the stairs were an issue but they changed our room to first floor with no problems. . They do not seem to have handicap parking. Don't. Just don't. On July 21, 2021, we booked this place because everything else we called was full. We had just driven around the peninsula, tried to go to Hoh Rainforest, but the road was backed up with construction projects, and standing traffic 7 miles out. Needless to say we were exhausted, and just needed a clean bed, so we could sleep. The only room was at the end at the top with 3 queen beds. Yes, it was next to the 101, so while in the office, I asked if the room was noisy. The young woman working there said, "it's just like this room we are in", which was pretty quiet. And when I asked if there was much traffic at night, she said, "No, it's pretty quiet at night." I hate to say she LIED... maybe she never works at night. But it was a noisy as HELL!!! Constant traffic noise, and noisy rumbling vibrations from trucks, probably logging trucks... I don't know... but needless to say, I got NO sleep. NONE. I wanted to drive to a park, and sleep in our rented van, but my son didn't want to do that. Now, this wasn't even what I'd say cheap, the room was $180, and 199.44 with tax. I drive to my Moms house in Lakewood the next day after breakfast, and I was so sick with exhaustion, all I could do was sleep, so it ruined my whole next day of my trip. read more

Riviera Inn is claiming that me and my husband left our room, room 115, a complete mess and filthy. That is absolutely not true. Me and my husband stayed there about a week and we absolutely made sure the trash was all picked up and made the bed. Were looking for people who have had an issue with this place as well. If you want to remain anonymous that is fine. Riviera Inn has also told other motels/hotels this statement as well which now is not allowing us at any motels/hotels which is completely unfair. It's a two star hotel for the three star price. I would describe it as motel 6-esk but it's $90 a night for a small room with a queen bed. It's clean with bright colors but the lighting is dim and the walls are thin. Management is nice and there's breakfast in the morning from 630am-9am. It a close to downtown and right on E front Street which is nice. Port Angeles is gorgeous! There are some grungier looking hotels around here--good to look at reviews and do a drive-by. read more

The good: It was clean, didn't smell funky, and was stocked with a fair amount of towels and an extra pillow. The person at the front desk was nice both when we arrived and when we left, which is always a plus for me considering I'm a female usually checking in to a one-bed room with my wife and things can get a bit weird, especially out on the peninsula. The heater both in the bedroom and in the bathroom worked and got the room fairly warm over the course of an hour or two. Free wi-fi worked well and got us connected. The bad: Not really something the hotel itself can control, but the walls are thin. As in, we were on our bed watching TV and could hear the conversation going on behind us and understand every word. And yes, at 1:00 in the morning, you also hear...other things, sometimes even from four rooms down. Sound travels in this place. The locks on the doors don't seem too secure, and it makes me a bit nervous to have a waist-high window sitting right next to the door to the room. Not a bad place, overall. Not great, but keep in mind you get what you pay for. Definitely a place to crash and head out in the morning. read more

We went to the crab festival and we made our reservations in April so our friend called the hotel to check on our rooms they found their reservation but could not find ours so after talking to the front desk we got a room it was $154.00 so we had no choice but to take it, it was a nice room very spacious, the down fall was in the morning my husband went to take a shower it was hot for about 2 minutes then went cold so i went and showered in our friends room, which they had no problem. Very clean. Not secure. Loud trucks. A/C in window makes it impossible to secure room because the window won't close and the A/C is small and lifts right out. Bed OK, definitely only for one night. Pillows were hard, uncomfortable; each queen bed had four of them. Really nice clean bathroom with plenty of towels. Manager appears unfamiliar with ADA rules, which was a heartbreaking and humiliating hassle. First said he had only one room available, though three were available online, then wanted us to move to a different room. Hm. Also said online price was higher than it was. It's not Hilton, Holiday Inn, Ramada, etc.; hence, I should not scrutinize like those hotels that are marketed because of their brand name. For the price I paid, it's actually very cheap for the accommodation that I received. The room was clean and the bed sheets, towels smell fresh. It's lacking an A/C, which didn't bother me because I was more concern on keeping the room warm. The bathroom was small and it only has a stand up shower. Short version: Found signs of bedbugs, contacted manager, were told we only had 5 minutes to get a refund SO THEY COULD BOOK SOMEONE ELSE INTO THE ROOM WITH BEDBUGS. Long version I've had bedbugs before, so I check the mattress every time I come into a new hotel room. There are very distinctive stains left by bloody bedbug poop. I found those stains on the box spring (room 103, if you wondering). I told the manager, and we were given an ultimatum: if you want a refund you have to get your stuff out of the room in 5 minutes, so we can put someone else in the room. No time to try and find another place to stay (which was stressful in high season, but you have a lot of options in town). Further, the manager said that it was impossible for there to be bedbugs this far north - that's absolutely false, BTW. Especially with travelers coming in-and-out during the summer. read more

Our room was fine. Internet was pretty fast, room was clean, though they need A LOT more lighting in the rooms. The heater worked very well and at a point even got a bit too warm (not really an issue in winter). There was a slightly strange smell in the room...not a bad one, just a strange one. I booked through some kind of local site that listed motels and bed & breakfasts in Port Angeles and Sequim. We arrived before 6 PM, printed reservation in hand, and were told we had no reservation and they were sold out. It was the height of the tourist season so everyone else was also full. Luckily the four of us were able to stay with a very gracious friend. Disaster averted, but only barely. Stay away! You might not be so lucky. read more

I don't except a lot out of a roadside hotel, but when I pay $100 a night, I do expect hot water. After a LONG day of driving from Seattle and playing at the beach, we get to the room which has had the heat off (which I understand), it's around 45 degrees in there. I strip my 3 y/o & 5 y/o boys down - they were cold, wet, sandy and tired - and throw them in the bath. I fill up the water about 3 inches when my 5 y/o says - "It's cold!" As I fumble to figure out what I did to make it change to cold - flush the toilet?- it continues to fill up with COLD water. I shut it off and call the front desk. They causally explain that the people up stairs must have used hot water and I will need to wait 1/2 hour before I have hot water again. WHAT?!? I pull my now shivering, blue lipped boys out of the tub, wrap them up and try to get them warm in the room that might now be warmed up to 55. VERY disappointed. Will not stay here again. read more

In addition, the room was dirty -- splatters on the bathroom wall, sticky gunk on the switch plates, mildew on the shower curtain. I had to clean the coffee pot before using it. Light bulbs burned out in the bathroom. Non-functioning power outlet by the desk. Seriously, spend a little more money and stay in a decent place. The room and bathroom were clean, the furniture was dated but the linens, paint and carpet seemed new. The staff was friendly, the wifi was free and actually worked. Definitely not a fancy place but room 114 was very large, with a fireplace and wrap around balcony. Room was clean and well stocked with supplies. Staff was super friendly. We only stayed one night and didn't really need much but it was nice to get up and be able to have a light breakfast before we left. As close as it is to the main road I expected to be kept awake by traffic noise but that did not happen, so sound control was really good. Well, the bed was very comfortable and the internet was free. Those are the two positive things I have to say. It was a bit noisy, being right off of 101. There was also a very funky smell in the room, which was pretty unpleasant. The shower was extremely small and difficult to move around in - and I am not a large person. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast was forgettable at best. this isn't a luxury hotel by any means but i'd recommend based on great location, clean rooms and well landscaped property. i appreciate the nifty ramp up to the second level and the windows are covered in a reflective secure film. it's walking distance to everything downtown. very short drive up to hurricane ridge or crescent lake spruce railroad hike. the walls are pretty thin so pray for quiet neighbors:) read more
