This is an anonymous review. I have no idea how this company has so many 5-star reviews, as I had a horrible experience. The tech arrived to my property with a monster sized vacuum, which didn't even turn on. He had to open the vacuum and reconnect several wires before it would turn on. He frustratingly told me that this vacuum would often malfunction, as it was a very old model that his company refused to upgrade due to cost. He said the newer models are much smaller, more efficient and easier to operate. The tech was very unprofessional and inappropriate throughout the cleaning. He showed me pictures of porno magazines that he'd found lying on the floor of a property he'd cleaned. He also enthusiastically told me about a 14-inch purple dildo that he'd found hidden in the ductwork of a 14-year-old girl's room that he'd cleaned. The tech also told me stories about how filthy some of the previous properties were that he'd been sent to clean, and how he couldn't believe that they were even habitable. Ever since the cleaning, I've been experiencing new allergic type symptoms that I did not have before the cleaning. My most pronounced symptom is continuous sneezing whenever my HVAC system turns on. This is disconcerting, as I have a history of mold allergy, and become quite sick when exposed to mold spores and the toxins they release (mycotoxins). I contacted a professional mold inspector whom I trust and have worked with previously. He said home contamination can occur during cleaning of air ducts secondary to the use of filthy cleaning equipment (vacuum scrubbers and outside of vacuum itself), or from a breach of the air tight seal in the vacuum secondary to a leak, which allows mold spores/toxins to be dispersed all over the duct work. He said my symptoms are pretty classic for mold contamination of my air ducts, and recommended I clean them out thoroughly using a dry fogging method, which will end up costing me over $1,000. What a nightmare of an experience. STAY AWAY from this cheap and unprofessional company! read more

I had Boris as my technician and he was great! He called to say he could come earlier if I wanted (which worked great for my family) and he arrived promptly. He took his shoes off when he entered my home, he was super understanding of my toddler being cranky, and he even walked me through all of my options and what the bill would total as. He was very professional and didn't try to force or pressure me to buy additional services; he simply laid out the pros of the additional services his company offered and what they each cost. Also, after cleaning each of the returns and my furnace, he would come and show me a before and after video. Overall: Boris was thorough, meticulous, friendly, polite, and professional. I purchased this as a groupon and I feel like Groupon fails to explain that the groupon doesn't cover the cleaning fee... But it does make it cheaper than if you were to purchase the service outright. The five stars are for Boris the technician, the pricing is on the high end even with the groupon (north of $300). Very satisfied with the entire experience. Waited a few weeks to rate in order to see if having the ducts cleaned had an effect on dust in the house. The house is 17 years old and this had never been done as evidenced by construction debris in the ducts. I am convinced the procedure did significantly reduce dust buildup. Back to the company - when I called to get an estimate and make an appointment, the office person was very professional and there was no selling add ons. The crew showed up slightly ahead of schedule which I appreciated as the job was roughly four hours to complete. Boris was the lead and thoroughly explained the work to be done. They got right down to business and worked hard the entire time. When each trunk line was complete, Boris would show me a photo for my satisfaction. Gary was the specialist that came out to clean our air ducts. He was on time and very professional the entire time, explaining the process to us as he went and answering any questions we had. The before and after videos made it evident how badly our ducts needed cleaning and Gary even let me watch while he cleaned the vents from the top as well. They were filthy. I just had my ducts cleaned today. Process was very easy from start to finish. Called for a quote, they need your address and square footage to give you a price. The technician was scheduled about a week and a half out. They called to confirm the day prior to the appointment and the tech called 20 minuted prior to arriving. Anton spent about 5 hours cleaning my ducts. I have been in my 45 year old house 4 years and I suspect the ducts might have never been cleaned. When Anton started pulling returns I was floored at how gross they were. He took his time, cleaned everything, and was professional to deal with. The first warning sign about a company should be when you call them and they tell you that a "technician" will call you back. No answers, initially, at all. It is a "call-service". Every time you call this company, they tell you that you will have to wait for a call back (this is for Anything, such as a quote, a time-frame, etc.). And they do not give you a time as to when someone will call you back. If you miss this phone call from them, then you will have to re-call them so that they can tell you to wait for another phone call from them. Terrible (bordering on non-existent) customer service. I purchased a Groupon to have the vents cleaned at the home my husband and I just purchased. The Groupon included cleaning and sanitizing 12 regular and 1 return vents. Our house has 14 regular and 3 return vents. The cost to clean each extra vent was very reasonable. The provider arrived on time for the service and went through the HVAC system with me. Our house was built in 1982 and the main supply ducts had never been cleaned. Ever. Boris was able to create access panels and clean all 4 main supply ducts while at the house. He showed me before and after video and the difference was night and day. The inside of the ducts were disgusting. Basically an 8-inch layer of dirt. He also cleaned the dryer vent while at the house. He showed me the inside of the vent before cleaning. You couldn't see from one end to the other because of the dirt compacted inside the tube. I'm surprised the house didn't burn down before it went on the market. Basically, I purchased a deal for vent cleaning, and ended up having my entire HVAC system cleaned. This took around 2 hours. Boris was very professional and explained everything well. The extra services I agreed to were definitely needed, and very reasonably priced. Somewhat related, when we purchased the home, it smelled. The previous owners had 2 large dogs and the carpets were filled with urine stains. The dogs had been doing their business inside without proper cleanup (not just a few spots. Most of the carpet was ruined) and it took a lot of vinegar, baking soda, and rug doctor rentals to get the smell out of the carpets. After using a steel brush to saturate the carpets with vinegar down to the padding and subfloor, letting it dry, making it snow with baking soda, vacuuming, and making 6-7 passes in each room with the rug doctor, we were not bombarded with urine smells every time we walked in the house. But the smell still lingered. After having the HVAC system professionally cleaned, the smell is finally gone. So. Great service, no more fear of the house burning down, better air, lower energy bills, and no more dog urine smell. Basically a win all around. I will definitely be using this company in the future. read more

the company called me twice to verify the appointment,. Boris was on time. The original quote was $375. Boris had to do some extra work which I anticipated by cleanng the furnance and trunck lines. The big thing was cutting into the trunck lines. The company that did the service previously never mentioned this aspect of the job, thus they never completed that part of the job. In the end Ispent $515 and could not be happier. Boris did a thorought job and was very pleasant to deal with. Negatives: technician moved all the furniture to access the ducts, but never moved any of it back. Likewise, took down a baby gate for the stairway and didn't re-install. Quality of work is top notch! Highly recommend the use of AirDuct Specialist yearly or every other year to service and maintain your furnace and A/C duct system. We purchased a Groupon and when evaluated number of returns and vents, they wanted to add $340 on top of Groupon cost. Our house is only 1700 sf. Total bait and switch. All they ended up doing was to spray some disinfectant in the furnace for the Groupon price, which I don't know if they even really did that, nor whether it had any affect. In the past, I had once bought a Living Social coupon for air duct cleaning from a company that turned out to be a scam, but this time I got a AAA coupon for Air Duct Specialists and they were the real deal. I had to pay extra for additional vents/returns and main duct cleaning which wasn't included with the coupon, but I knew this ahead of time so it was no surprise.
