We were after one of those green gray tones that everyone seems to be using in family rooms and living rooms right now, and anyone who has tried to nail that range knows it is easy to end up too cold or too sage. Ethan in the paint department steered us to Benjamin Moore and mixed exactly what we were picturing. He asked what room it was going in and how much natural light it got before touching the mixer. That is the part most places skip. Green grays shift hard depending on the light, and getting that question up front is why we did not have to come back for a second batch. Ethan was friendly and patient the whole time, no rushing, no attitude about us taking a minute to decide. Everyone we dealt with in the store was courteous. Asked the male employee to complete the return section of their form, and to provide me with a receipt/documentation of the equipment's return. Employee flat-out refused to do either. Somehow it is OK to document the rental equipment leaving the store, but not its return. I did not expect to be in negotiations with this employee for such a simple request. At one point still without a receipt being provided, the employee stated to please leave the store, never come back to this store again, never buy anything here again. Whatever you need for your DIY projects, pets, or non-destructive home repair projects. But it also has whimsy, and for me that's the biggest selling point. Outside lining the parking spots are planters with adorably painted barnyard animals. Some are art, like the horse with a whole winter scene painted on. Others are cute, like the pig begging you not to go "bacon" their heart. There's also a propane tank in a gated area, so, you know, watch that. Inside are the tools. There's also a popcorn cart, and stuffed chickens decorating the pet section. One even demonstrates how to use the pet cage.... Or they've been naughty. It's unclear how much a stuffed chicken can ruckus. They even have a stuffed bee advertising the bee care section. There's a Little Free Library by the exit, as well as an epic skeleton! As of this writing, he's showing off their spring outdoor supplies. They also are raising money with a round up program for the Bethlehem Land Trust, and thank people for shopping locals.
