2/28 & 3/14/26 - I have been using this shuttle service back when Toyota vans and the Prius were being used and the driver back then told me about the thousands of miles racked up and how dependable the vehicles were. Today, drivers use their own vehicles but the service is still dependable. Cecelia and Ron are quick to respond and communicate. I can call or text and get a response right away from one of them or the driver. Ty was the driver this time for both days and communication excellent. My "go to" every time I need a shuttle. Booked the shuttle from Wahiawa to the airport as I was moving off Island. Because my flight was at 8 a.m. and I was shipping a cat, I wanted to get there early and couldn't trust but I would be able to catch a Uber or Lyft on time. The shuttle through and pick me up at 5:30am and helped me with all my luggage and got me to the airport. My husband and I were recently LEFT STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT due to our poor decision to trust this company. We used them for transportation to the airport for a last minute trip to the mainland for a family funeral. The driver was courteous and on time, and we had a fantastic experience. We made another reservation for pick up at the airport only because our first experience was so positive. Our reservation was made without any mention of a problem. When we called for our pick up once we landed, we were informed that we were a "no show" for our transportation to the airport and would be charged for that over the phone before our van would be dispatched. After multiple phone calls to the driver who picked us up and Airport Island Shuttle, we still were left without a ride. In addition to being left stranded, the gentleman (and I use this term VERY loosely) who answered the phone became extremely rude and mocking to me. When I politely asked for a supervisor because I was done being verbally abused by him, he proceeded to tell me he was the owner. I felt like I was having a conversation with a three year old! He taunted me saying " What are you going to do? Put me out of business? Go ahead. I don't care." after I mentioned that we had planned to repeatedly use this shuttle service as I fly back and forth from the mainland monthly and hate inconveniencing my friends here on the island. Needless to say, I will not be using this service any longer. I'd recommend utilizing a cab company (the fare was equal to what we would have paid for a shared shuttle to Mililani using United Cab Service) or a different shuttle service. PROS: Extremely reliable Reasonably priced CONS: The one star deduction was made to the original five star review due to the following reasons during our September 2013 encounter. The vehicle's air conditioning unit desperately needed servicing on the day of our departure. It was probably as equally humid in the car as it was outside that day. In Hawaii, air conditioning is considered to be a valued necessity by most. Luckily, on our return leg, the driver made it a point to recharge the coolant which made things slightly more comfortable, however the vehicle was definitely showing it's age after all the years dedicated to transporting folks like us around. The signs of wear and tear on the vehicle does have a way of making us a bit nervous though since flights can be unforgiving of roadside emergencies! Unfortunately, another unpleasantry would have to be the apparent agitated state of the driver who is otherwise usually quite friendly. Okay, we're all human so it's understandable he may have been experiencing a bad day. Just a note to all you future shuttle customers, please please please be kind to your driver? BOTTOM LINE: Airport Island Shuttle still remains our go-to shuttle service because of their professionalism, (usual) friendliness, their above average dependability.....plus Cecilia is exceptionally helpful, especially when our home bound flight got cancelled TWICE. Yes, this nightmarish scenario actually happened back in September 2011! Airport Island Shuttle was most hospitable and reassuring, and happily welcomed us when we finally arrived at Honolulu International with a huge sigh of relief. I was super nervous about getting to the airport on time and I had never taken a shuttle. I was assured on the phone that all would be okay and the lady really knew her way around the area. I was picked up on time. Actually, he was there before hand and called me to offer bringing down my bags. He was a good but efficient driver and made really friendly conversation the whole time. I was dropped off right at the Delta arrival gates and he helped me with my bags again. It was also one of the CHEAPEST and a helluva lot better than a cab or parking my car at HNL. I would dock half a star because our driver let it slip that the hotel we were about to stay at was a) an overpriced hotel with just a pool b) potentially haunted but, it was more comical than annoying. These people are the ONLY airport shuttle we use on Oahu. Absolutely the BEST

First thing I wish to say is that Cecilia (A-I Shuttle business manager) is a very courteous and accommodating individual. This review has nothing to do with her. With that said, I used to use this shuttle service until I got tired of having to endure one of A-I Shuttle's drivers, who typically works in the morning. This driver would have a near-fit whenever I tried to sit in the back seat of the shuttle van; and was always VERY insistent that I sit in the front passenger seat. Furthermore and consequently, this driver always made the ride to the airport and back home a very tense and uncomfortable ride. My personal (silent) reaction to this was always: "I am paying you! What gives you the right to tell me that I can not sit in the rear seat?" The last time I called Cecilia to make a shuttle reservation, I let her know that I wanted to avoid this specific driver. When I explained to her why I did not want to be in the same vehicle with this driver, Cecilia listened, apologized for this driver's behavior, and promised to have a talk with him. I do not know what the final outcome of Cecilia's talk with that particular driver. Only once I did have a different driver, and he was great! Unfortunately, Cecilia could not get a different driver for me, stating that the driver I wanted to avoid was their "morning driver". I then declined to go further with the reservation and simply chose another shuttle company that I am really happy with. Again, Cecilia, you are great! And the other driver I had once was great! However, your morning driver is rude and comes across to me as an unstable individual. He is the only reason why I no longer utilize Airport-Island Shuttles. And if he felt empowered to be rude to me, then I can assure you that he was doing it to other customers. read more

I had a wonderful experience! Needed a ride to the Honolulu airport very early in the morning from the north shore. I wasn't sure if anyone would come up that north for the airport but they did! The van came a bit earlier than the promised time, there was no one else in the shuttle, just me. Price was cheaper than I thought would cost and the driver was very friendly. Used this Leeward shuttle service to pick us up in Kapolei to Airport and return to Kapolei on June 15 and June 28, respectively. Reservations were made easily via telephone (first time, I like to speak to someone and ask questions) and I received 10% discount as first time user. Ends up being about $21 per person one-way which is far cheaper than a taxi. The ride arrived 15 minutes early on the Kapolei pick-up date and they were at the airport baggage claim area shuttle stop within 8 minutes when I called upon our return to Oahu. The drivers were courteous and friendly. The transportation was via clean, air-conditioned white mini-vans with the Airport Island Shuttle logo on the sides so they're easy to spot. I'd recommend them for long trips when you want to avoid expensive parking fees...and the convenience of heading straight home after a LONG flight. read more

I have to say that on my trip to the airport it was super short notice (about an hour and a half) and they were extremely professional and on time. This establishment is amazing to say the least. BEFORE you call any other shuttle service, Call Island Shuttle first. I promise you won't find a better deal with great employees. Their Driver is friendly, informative and a safe driver. The van we rode in was clean and very roomy with all the luggage. He grabbed all our luggage and didn't even need help to carry the heavy ones. Once we got to the terminal he unloaded all luggage and grabbed the porters to help. If your main objective is to get from point to point, use them. If you want a safe ride in a clean van, go somewhere else. The van: smelly, dirty, about the same age as my teenager. Wheelcovers falling off tell you they drive recklessly. The decals on the car were all half falling off. Door handles broken off. Trunk held down by a bungee cord. AC wasn't working right either. The driver: This is Hawaii, not New York. Foul language, Drove like a maniac. If you have a deathwish, be sure to ride with them. Have seen their vans in the shopping center parked carelessly in the neighborhood. Thought it was weird their address is in a residential neighborhood -- it's their house! Check out how they park -- halfway in the handicapped stalls, angled away from the curb, etc. Lousy service and safety issues. Looks like short tempered from other reviews below.
