The restaurant interior is nice, it's very simple with a few cups on one wall and exposed old stone. The wait staff are friendly and quick to offer recommendations. My food came out fast as well.
The first dish I ordered was a starter, the Pork and Celery Dumplings which were allegedly spicy. As is the case with most "spicy" things in Europe, the spiciness was undetectable. The dumplings were rather bland even after putting a generous amount of the sauce they were bathing in on top of them. The chili paste at the restaurant was unfortunately no better, it was not spicy and not flavorful. I would not recommend ordering this dish and I wouldn't order it again.
After that scathing review, you might be confused why I gave this restaurant 5 stars. Fortunately, everything else here was stellar. For my main I got the Chicken Bento with sesame sauce and it was delectable. The sauce was peanuty and savory, very delicious. The sauce was subtle enough not to be overpowering, but strong enough to pack a flavorful punch. The chicken is so good you won't be able to come up for air as you shovel it into your mouth. I wouldn't hesitate to order this again.
I also got the Sakuramochi and Sweet Zong zi for dessert. I have a weak spot for red bean and the Sakuramochi were absolutely delicious. I could've eaten 10 of them (In fact I ordered 2 more as I'm writing this). The Sweet Zong zi, unlike what their name implied, were not very sweet. They were slightly sweet with more a ricey, almost savory flavor. I personally would not order the Sweet Zong zi again. I would however come back here just for the Sakuramochi. I was not a fan of the cherry leaf on it, but it was excusable because the rest of it was so good.
Overall I would highly recommend this AI's Bento. It's unfortunate that I can't give a blank check to the entire menu, but the good outweighs the bad and is deliciousness for me to slap 5 stars on this review. I would take one of my friends here to show them the great food here. read more
