You can book your reservations online however we decided to pay up at the desk due to the weather. Didn't know if it was going to rain but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

The location was easy to find on Round Bottom Road, big grass/field parking lot and well - set up registration area. Getting signed in and life jacket was a breeze. The shuttle to the put-in outside of Miamiville for our "Fletcher" paddle was a quick ride, and our canoe, kayaks and paddles were waiting for us. A staff member was on hand at the river for those needing a push in, but otherwise it was easy to handle on our own. And we were off! There were little rapids on the way for some fun, a few "beaches" for taking a break. It was a Tuesday and we saw people paddling the whole way, but did not feel crowded at all. Saw lots fish, a few turtles and a turkey vulture. We did stop at Little Miami Brewing in Milford for a break which was fun. Return to the car was easy and again staff on hand to take your equipment. Great time and we'll definitely do it again!

The river was maintained with nice spots to pull off for a rest. --1 star: the bathrooms at the front building were the dirtiest bathrooms I have ever experienced. Only 1 working toilet in the women's ( arrived at 9am) . --2 stars: unloading area at the end was not maintained. ( the staff member said what they had washed away in the spring) no where to pull your canoe to get off . Steep muddy hill to climb up. Someone in our group got hurt trying to get out when unloading . Young children were struggling to get up the steep hill.

We visited Morgan's yesterday for the second time this summer. It's a great meeting spot for friends that live in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Our first visit was on a Thursday and the second was on a Sunday. There was a big difference in the amount of people when going during the week versus the weekend. I would highly suggest a weekday visit if you would prefer less people. After a brief safety talk, you grab a life vest, paddle, and boat and you are off! We did kayaking on both of our visits, but saw a lot of people out on canoes and rafts. It is about a 7 mile trip and both times it took us about 3 hours doing a relaxing trip down the river with minimal paddling and a lot of floating. We packed a picnic lunch and pulled our kayaks out on a shady spot and ate lunch. This is not a technically different kayaking route. There are a few sections that are rocky, have some tiny rapids, or tree roots that you need to navigate, but all in all, it is a beginner level trip perfect for the novice and fun for all. The equipment is good, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The price is also good for a budget activity ~$30 per person! Let's talk about COVID-19 precautions: Morgan's takes this seriously! They are by reservation only and have designated checkin times. For our weekend checkin when it was busy, a man greeted us when walked up and directed us to an empty table to fill out our group's waiver. Once done, we took to a table with one staff member to checkin. All of this was outside. During the week, this was done in the building, but we were the only group. There are social distance markers on the ground, limit to 3 people per the changing room/restroom, social distance on the bus to bring you back, and all staff wore masks. usually have a great experience. but we did have a friend that got too drunk and missed the public…read moreaccess point. we decided to have him get off with us at green acres and just pay a fee. we were immediately confronted with hostility. very angry workers 1) yelling very rudely at us. 2) told us to go down and get off at the ohio river. 3) tried to push him back into the river (mind you he lost his paddle also). 4) when we were trying to explain the situation, they got more rude and aggressive and began taunting us. By this point we were frustrated and aggravated also. We just wanted to get out, pay the fee and go home. One of the workers challenged us to a fight and continued taunting trying to start a physical confrontation there, to which our friend told him if he was really that serious about wanting to go down that path that he could meet him off the premises and go about handling this disagreement how the worker felt fit. apparently this guy was a manager there as well. Severely disappointed in the lack of professionalism in the crew. Had they not been so aggressive from the start, let us explain the situation and discuss paying a fee to use their private access it could have gone so much smoother. I hope in the future they get some training on how to better handle people missing the public access point and with no other options to just be more reasonable and understanding to letting people just pay the price to access and get off the river.

We went on the 3-5hr(equates to ~5miles) which takes you by van from South Lebanon to Morrow. Perfect day and current for this adventure. We would for sure use these folks the next time we are wanting to go paddle down the little Miami River. We saw numerous cranes and an Eagle flying down the River. Highly recommend.

The Friday evening Burgers and Brews tour was a perfect blend of fun and safety, thanks to the competent guide, Norman, who shared his extensive knowledge of the wildlife and history of the Little Miami river. Thanks to Loveland paddle sports, our daughter's 21st Birthday became a fun and memorable day. We knew that we could not bring alcohol on the kayak trip due to Ohio law and the companies guidelines. Loveland Paddle sports seems to be a very Safety oriented and family friendly business so we respected that. But we were fine with that and celebrated with her afterwards during the brew and burger part of the trip with her first legal drink and a birthday song from the entire crew and fellow kayakers. We highly recommend Norman and his team for a seamless and enjoyable kayaking experience. They have the friendliest customer service team. We will be back!!!

The difference is that other local rental shops are staffed by workers who genuinely seems to enjoy the outdoors and being on the water. In comparison, Mariemont Livery workers seem to be minimum wage workers who are bored, need a summer job and are killing time. In fact, it seemed like we were an inconvenience. When we asked about any differences between handling a canoe and a kayak on the river, our associate said he had no idea, as he'd never been on the river, nor used a kayak!!! Personally, I would recommend renting elsewhere.
