I called and received a quote to re-key a double cylinder Baldwin door $39 fee + $25 rekey. The tech showed up an hour late (did call to reschedule) and gave me a quote of $165 including 1 Baldwin key $19.50 and a couple extra keys. $52 PER side of the double keyed cylinder. I told him that was completely different than my quote over the phone and I was not interested - I'll find someone else. He negotiated it down to $98. No Baldwin key and I feel like it was scammy. I really thought that I was going to be able to change the lock myself. I had the door knob off and had changed many a deadbolt. About a half hour into this I realized that was not going to be the case. In my opinion it was a reasonable cost and the gentleman who changed it, knew what he was doing. When I saw him have to air jack the door and jimmy the lock, I knew I was out of my league. I think he was in and out in under 20 minutes. RIP OFF CON MEN He was 3 hours late. After reviewing work he quoted 350 to replace a broken front door lock and rekey deadbolt and garage door. They know they have you. After completion (which looked terrible) told me it was hundreds of dollars more stating he did not include this fee or that fee in quote. I should not have paid the $550 (which was a compromise of his ask), but he has my house key! 3 months later keys do not work. Can't say enough bad things about this crappy business. You know it's a scam when invoice doesn't contain any info on business. Generic yellow receipt, no phone, no address, no name. Got info from my credit card bill. I was in a hurry and got taken. When I called I was told it would be 25 to 30 minutes. And a technician call me and said it would be at least 45. And then he showed up an hour later. She told me would be a $30 service call with a minimum $30 fee. Told me the $max would be $75 to $80. And it was $100. Do yourself a favor. Save yourself aggrevation and pick another one. read more
