I tried several other places before stumbling on this one, either with a ridiculously insulting insanely high cost just to unlock my door, or no answer at all. When I called AJ, I was able to speak to the guy right away and given a direct answer on how much I would be charged and how long it would take for them to arrive. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and we're very helpful not only in solving my problem but also with tips on how to prevent it in the future. These people are very obviously here to do their job and be at your service, unlike the majority of other companies in this field. If there were 6 stars available, I would give Joey a 6! After having had 3 different locksmiths come out to look at a problem with my brother's house who had a locked security gate that he had broken the key off in. He also wanted to get some keys made for his front door deadbolt. I had other locksmiths come out and for lack of a better term, do a 'bait and switch' act. Oone of them unlocked the gate and when my brother did not have CASH, he locked the door back and left! The other wanted an exorbitant fee for their work. I gave both of them the 'appropriate reviews' on YELP, out of kindness I will withhold their names. Then I called AJ Locksmiths and talked with Joey and what I can say is that Joey was more interested in getting my problem solved and removing a safety hazard than how much he could charge me for the work. He offered to come out on a Sunday morning, look at my problem and then give me an estimate. Then if I decided not to do the work, he said he would say OK and n that would be that. He came out on time to my brothers house, then had me stay on the phone with him while he discussed the work needed. No problems, he gave a very very fair estimate and told me that he was not sure what he could do but would do his best. He unlocked the gate but said the lock and lever were embedded ni the gate where he could not gain access to it but would secure the lock so it could not be locked. Then he removed the deadbolt on the door and cut 2 keys for it and reinstalled the lock and adjusted the door frame. He did all of this for 1/4 of what one of the other locksmiths had asked for and less than the other wanted just to come out and look at it. I realize that there i no such thing as a 'free estimate' as travel and labor charges are not free to the owner. It was just so refreshing to have a person of such integrity as Joey live up to what he said he would do.
