We had a great time visiting for a work event recently. Highly recommend wine tasting at such a wonderful location.

Tastings: Classic Flight is $35 for 5 pours. Several other tasting flights are offered. Return visit to this modern, sleek, and elegant wine tasting room in downtown Santa Monica. We stopped in for a couple glasses of their 2023 Extra Brut Sparkling wine ($19). They offer lite bites like charcuterie boards and pizzas from a restaurant next door (North Italia), but we were headed to dinner and didn't partake on this visit. WINES: The wines are well made, complex, and tasty. I'm not usually a huge fan of sparkling wines, but their '23 Extra Brut is amazing! Per bottle prices are reasonable for the quality of the wines. Parking can be difficult, but we once again used the public parking garage about half a block away. Another good experience and I'm sure we'll be back to try the new vintages of their fine wines. read more

what a fun experience!!! I came here with my coworkers for a wine tasting - Amanda was SO accommodating and easy to coordinate with. Shanne was so elegant and such a fun sommelier! this is the first wine tasting in Santa Monica and they definitely set the bar high. prices are very reasonable, with flights as low as $35 for 5 pours. all of the staff are knowledgeable and are great at guiding you through each wine. I loved the 2022 Sauv Blanc (Happy Canyon) and enjoyed learning about different wines and the wine-making process. the food is also delicious (from North Italia + other snacks). I could not stop snacking on the truffle chips :) I also loved the small details that they have - the cork wall, chocolate to pair with a richer red wine, and especially how they set up the space + tasting mats for us! Fun fact: AJA stands for Allen, Jack, and Amanda--the Greenbaum kids. I had the pleasure of meeting Amanda who explained so much about the their vineyard, the meaning of the labels and all about the wines. they serve light bites like a Farmers market boards and Chef's board from a restaurant next door called North Italia. everything on both boards were fantastic and paired beautifully with our wines. I was in Santa Monica for the weekend and found this wine tasting room on Yelp. It was so nice and the service was amazing! We ordered some snacks & flatbread. We did the Estate flight for our tasting & it was so good. We bought a few bottles & joined the wine club! The decor is so nice too. The owner, Amanda, was there and was so sweet & they're dog friendly! Looking forward to picking up my first shipment there next month. I cannot recommend this place enough! I went here for my birthday with my parents and sister. All of us have attended some great wine tastings in Northern California and the Finger Lakes. We've had a lot of them, at least in the USA. So when I tell you is the best tasting we've ever experienced, I mean it! The service and wine are both out of this world. Our server was so knowledgeable about all the wines: where they were grown, who they were named after, which other wines to compare them to (ie serving a non-oaky Chardonnay that was different from a typical oaky Chardonnay). She was also a kind person who loved talking to us about our lives, and making connections over her background in Toronto. The conversation as amazing, and their kindness was so apparent! They clearly love their customers, and deserve to stay in business for a long time. They have a decent selection of wines, with flights of 5 wines each: a white/pink flight (4 whites + 1 rose); a red flight; and a classic flight, which is a combo of the 2. They also have rare library wines, beer, soda, and some non-alcoholic stuff that looked delicious. We also ordered some popcorn and potato chips, which were tasty and perfectly paired with all the wine. Only downside is how small the premises are. However, for those of us 30 and over, that's a feature not a bug-everyone can have an audible conversation with each other in an intimate and warm setting. If you even think this might be a good place to visit, please go. I'm going to be visiting LA a lot more over the next few years, and I want them to still be here when I get back! read more

Hosted 20 family and friends at the Tasting Room to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Everyone had a fantastic time. Great service from the staff making sure everyone was happy. The 2016 Syrah was a big hit along with the new Malibu Coast Sauvignon Blanc, the Chardonnay and, of course, the Sparkling Brut (which is way too easy to drink). We had an amazing time at AJA Vineyards Tasting room. The staff were very welcoming and had us seated right away with no delays. We were pretty hungry from skipping lunch so the snacks they served were an added bonus in the tasting experience. The tasting room itself was beautifully designed and decorated. We tried multiple wines but my personal favorite was the was one of their whites. The host, Amanda, knew so much about the wines and how to pair them as well as the history behind each one. It really made the experience special to hear the backstories of the wine and how it gets to the glass in front of you. At the end we even got to add our corks to the cork wall in the back leaving our own special addition to the venue. We will be back. Best tasting room in Santa Monica! read more

Had a chance to try the tasting room out before its official opening and it was an incredible experience! I opted for the wine flight which featured 4 of their wines at a reasonable price. The somm behind the bar knew her stuff as she gave us the rundown on each varietal! We even got a little shot to "cleanse our pallet" before the tasting PLUS a piece of dark chocolate with the last red - such a cute touch! The space is comfortable, premium and inviting. I've been a regular since October when it opened and I couldn't be happier to see AJA pop off the way it has. It's truly one of a kind in all of LA but especially Santa Monica. Perfect date spot or first or last stop of the night with friends. Lighting is romantic at night and during the day it's bright and welcoming. Some standouts include: the rose - I never like rose but this is the best! named after the winemaker's mom Syrah 2016 - just the perfect syrah but really all of them are wonderful!! Wonderful, fantastic, delightful, amazing, magical.... there just aren't enough adjectives (or enough stars) to describe our experience with AJA Vineyards! We just had a big event (30+ people) at their beautiful tasting room and I have to share that Amanda, Jenny and their marvelous staff gave us a complete first-class experience. The wines were oh, so delicious; the service was so efficient and gracious; the wine bar itself was airy, bright and lovingly decorated with the visitors' comfort uppermost in mind. For those of you who may not know, AJA produces their wines at their very own local vineyard, and you can taste the love and care that goes into every drop. Whether it's a white, red, rose or sparkling, the feeling each of them brings is like drinking California sunshine. Amanda and Jenny were so kind as to arrange catering for our group from North Italia Restaurant to provide a cornucopia of delightful bites which paired perfectly with their wines. Everyone was raving all the way home about how much fun we had and how delicious everything was. Would I do it again? Abbbbbbsolutely, without even a blink. A group of us met before dinner at Water Grill down the street and had a great time. The place is not so loud so you can have a real conversation. The decor also creates a comfortable vibe.
