I was looking to have the floors in my investment condo buffed and stained post tenant move out. Carlos was easily available via text and phone and after a few exchanges, we were able to agree to a fair price. Prior to the job, Carlos sent me a COI as needed by the building. On the day of, Carlos arrived promptly with another employee along with all the equipment and material. After showing him the problem areas, he assured me that the job would be done to my satisfaction and he certainly kept his word. I returned 4 hours later and although, I could only peep from the door, the floors looked great when I did finally enter the unit 3 days later (allowing plenty of time to let the oil dry). I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Carlos is a young entrepreneurial and hard working small business owner who I will be glad to hire on my next flooring job.

He was very attentive to the time-sensitive character of the work and walked us through all the technical requirements of the job. The price he offered was basically the same a the one we ended up going for. We did not end up working with Julio because he did not have availability this week but we had an excellent experience and his opinion fully coincided with the one of the company we ended up working with (given that their schedule was more compatible with our needs). I really appreciated Julio's profesionalism and I will definitely keep Castillo's Hardwood Floor in mind for future flooring jobs.

At the beginning of my…read morebathroom remodel, I told Julio the whole shower assembly needs to be replaced including shower handle. The shower kit I bought did not include shower handle. Julio did not tell me, he just left the old shower handle in the shower, and put new tiles on top of the shower handle. Who's going to spending $10K on bathroom remodel and leave old shower handle. Julio would not fix this mistake and want to charge me extra for fix his mistake when I have already paid him to replace the shower assembly. This is truly a dishonest business. Julio does not communicate well and gets upset easily. He got upset when I wanted to see the material receipts when I am paying for the material and he got upset when I wrote his business name on the check instead of his own name. Do not use Castillo.

When the installer team came out, they did not replace the boards and told me new boards were unnecessary. I was still charged for the board replacements anyway. I disputed this directly with the company on March 19th, the day of the installation, and did not receive a follow-up. I had to reach back out on March 31st to continue addressing the issue. At that point, they asked for photos, despite my earlier explanation that photos would not prove anything because of the nature of the work. Today, they responded by saying the pictures were "not proof" and agreed to issue a refund, but only after I pushed the issue. At that point, it's no longer just about the money. It's about integrity, poor internal communication, and how a legitimate customer concerns are handled by this business.
