Update: The team followed up with us after the service and adjusted the price based on the work done. We appreciated the customer service and response. The scope of work was poorly assessed from the start. A FaceTime call was used to provide the initial quote-- an approach I would not recommend for this type of work. Once on-site, it became clear that not all of the quoted services were necessary, yet Sir Grout refused to adjust the price, insisting we were bound to the original agreement regardless. Most reputable companies would reassess the work order upon arrival and charge fairly for what was actually completed. We ended up paying for work we did not need. The grout color for me did not match what I wanted when I bought this place. I had two options. Option number one is to rip it out and redo it which I'm not opposed to. I've done it many times. Without a doubt, the worst company I have ever dealt with I am handicapped and they came out to do my two bathrooms. They did the grout up to the top of the tile, but not the top of the tile. I've contacted the owner every month for six months and have had been forced to left a message. I have emailed six times as well. No one has ever called me. Sir Grout did not complete our project to our satisfaction. While the crew did a nice job with the cleaning, sealing, and caulking of our granite counters, as well as the grout on our kitchen, bathroom, and shower floors, the work on the bathroom vanity was incomplete. They removed some blemishes, but not all of them, and I do not believe a seal or finish was ever applied to the surface. Our dissatisfaction was compounded when we discovered that the crew had tripped a circuit breaker in the bathroom and failed to inform us. This suggests they stopped working when their outlet lost power, leaving the job unfinished. Highly recommended. All of the grout in my shower started crumbling after only a couple years (I don't think the contractor ever sealed it). I wish I had a "before" picture. We bought a new condo. Very nice place but had recently converted from rentals and the bathrooms - while nicely finished - where showing their age. The marble floors, in particular, were stained and dingy looking. Stains in the marble. Dull surface. Grimey looking grout. Sir Grout just did the first one and honestly, it couldn't look any better if we'd ripped apart the bathroom and installed brand new flooring. I would recommend if you are having tile and grout cleaned. I was very happy with how that part of the job was completed. However I would not recommend if you need tile replaced. We had six tiles left of our discontinued pattern that we wanted used on six of the worst chipped tiles. Unfortunately the technician that was doing the work ended up chipping tiles adjacent to the first one he was supposed to replace and used all our spare tiles on the ones he chipped. He did put a temporary patch on the chipped tiles we wanted replaced, but that is already coming off with the first washing. Although we refused to pay for the tile replacement, we are left now with the expense and labor to repair those tiles. When they finished the job, our bathrooms looked brand new. Man, where do I even start. I guess some background may help. We recently moved into our first home. It's a nice home, but at 20 years old it definitely has needed it's fair share of TLC. We opted to redo half our master bathroom, hoping to refurbish/ refinish the existing marble tile on the shower and bathtub. Once the renovation was done, I could really tell what poor shape the remainder of the bathroom was in and was pretty bummed out. Grout was cracking, there was quite a bit of mold under some of the caulking, and overall just did not look great against the brand new half. I had Sir Grout in mind from the gentleman who did our home inspection. I mentioned the plans for the half-remodel/ half-refurbish and re-grout, and he mentioned he had just used them and was thrilled with the work. I'm SO glad he recommended them. I initially did a virtual consultation with Ann. She was extremely accommodating to my chaotic schedule and even took my call after hours after I accidentally blew past our original appointment time since we were moving earlier that day. I sincerely appreciated it. Today Mario came out to do the work. I will say I was worried--first time home owner, panicked about everything, dealing with all sorts of (good and bad) serviced in and out of the home--you just really don't know what to expect. I had feverishly reviewed all the Yelp reviews ahead of today and of course the few negative outliers were enough to make me second guess the decision. I'm really glad though that I went through with it in the end--Mario was amazing! Apart from just being genuinely nice (he brought in a heavy package I didn't notice FedEx had dropped off when I was working--many would have just walked past it), he also really showed he cared about my home. He put shoe covers on every time he walked inside (something that I've found many services will not do), he was careful not to ding any walls (I had mentioned they were fairly freshly painted), and he cleaned up everything to a T (and I'm quite a picky customer). The shower and tub went so well that I asked if he could take a look at some other areas of the house and let me know if it's something they could manage. I was in luck that he was able to stick around a little longer and get these extra areas too, including the foyer and guest bathroom. Saves me having to schedule another appointment and all seriously look ah-mazing. I'll admit they're not the cheapest, but my 20 year old shower and tub look basically brand new, my foyer sparkles, and the guest bathroom got a much needed mini-facelift. All around worth every penny I paid, and it was all done in a single day. I'll try to remember to post an update in a few months on how things are holding up. Before leaving Mario explained maintenance instructions and answered another million questions from me. I'm seriously so impressed that I only wish every company I hire resulted in as pleasant of an experience and had workers as great as Mario! Called on a Friday, had an in person quote Monday morning and the work was completed the next day by 2p.m on a primary bathroom and another full bath w/shower. Jose & Tim did the work. Very happy with my service! I recently bought a condo in a high-rise that was built in 1972. The tile in the bathroom (floor and tub surround) was original and looked extremely dirty and dingy. Josh came out and 3.5 hours later, it looks like a new bathroom! Highly disappointed, especially given all the rave reviews and the fact that I was working directly with the owner, Dan Lundstedt. Long & frustrating story, short: - Scheduled appointment, then got rescheduled by them - The rescheduled appointment date was miscommunicated (but I still accommodated) - 5 text messages & 14 calls (I went through and counted each in my phone) - no response from Dan or Sir Grout on my estimate - Total time wasted: 1 month (6/28 - 7/29) I worked directly with Dan, spoke to him on the phone and then I was 'ghosted'. Sent several very kind text messages and left voicemails. Called the office and had them try to help as well. I literally tried to give them every opportunity to respond and absolutely nothing. There's no excuse at this time, besides just taking ownership that you dropped the ball, entirely. I'll bet there will be a response to this post, but could not spend the time to respond to any of the many texts or phone calls I left. Not sure why you wouldn't want the work, it's easily over $1,000 worth of work that needs to be done. I spent time to take a full 4k video using a gimbal and uploading it for their review... it was all just wasted time. Anyhow, I would NOT recommend this company, given the lack of communication, especially since it was the owner. Seems this is a common theme after speaking to others. I ended up going with Grout Experts - it was a snap to schedule the estimate via the website. Within a couple of days they showed up 10 minutes early, were super thorough, courteous and knowledgeable. I already have the work scheduled in a couple of weeks! ---------- To clarify, I didn't miss the window or 'forget' as you mentioned. I had to reschedule my original appointment because you all stated that one of your employees may not be back on time from vacation. So I had to move around my work schedule and babysitting to accommodate your staff at the last minute. The window you mention was not communicated with a date and that caused the confusion, as you also admitted when I spoke to you. I have the texts. I also took your call. You also stated that you would look at the video I took over the weekend, but despite me sending it on Saturday, there was no response the entire weekend. It's in poor taste to push this on me (stating I missed the appointment, etc.) and inaccurately try to describe the situation. I, too, have a young daughter and had to accommodate a sitter and reschedule because you all had to reschedule on me then did not communicate the rescheduled appointment effectively. Of the 14 calls and 5 texts there was not a single response, but as soon as I left a review on Yelp, you responded within an hour... All this is fact and I have the texts, posts, call logs to show. Just own up fully to the issue and move on. No need to try and make excuses and try to displace blame passively on me in your story. read more
