Carlos of CV Wood Flooring was one of a few flooring contractors that responded to a bid request on another home services site. As a result of my great experience, I am happy to not only write this review but also start a Yelp page for this budding entrepreneur. I was looking to have the floors in my investment condo buffed and stained post tenant move out. Carlos was easily available via text and phone and after a few exchanges, we were able to agree to a fair price. Prior to the job, Carlos sent me a COI as needed by the building. On the day of, Carlos arrived promptly with another employee along with all the equipment and material. After showing him the problem areas, he assured me that the job would be done to my satisfaction and he certainly kept his word. I returned 4 hours later and although, I could only peep from the door, the floors looked great when I did finally enter the unit 3 days later (allowing plenty of time to let the oil dry). His pricing was competitive and he was attentive to my questions and concerns. I especially appreciated the draping the men did that limited the mess this type of work usually creates. If you're reading this review its because you're searching for a quality wood flooring/refinishing contractor, you don't need to search any further, CV Wood Flooring is the real deal, totally awesome. I've been in the construction industry for over 40 years, I know quality and professionalism, and CV Wood Flooring checks all the correct boxes. I'm also a perfectionist, and I will accept nothing less. I consider Carlos a young professional, who is passionate about his business, and is building his business reputation by providing top-notch work and service. I had Carlos, and his crew, refinish all the hardwood flooring in our house, including the stair cases and hand rails, in June 2020. The project took over a week, 3 days of which were spent hand scraping and sanding all the handrails, stair treads and trim work. They cleaned up their work everyday, and did everything possible to keep the house clean and dust free. We also had to go out of town for several days on business, and we felt very comfortable leaving Carlos with full access to our house as needed. Before we even started the project, Carlos sanded in two small areas and put down 12 different floor color stains, with even one coat of sealer. This allowed us to see different stain colors in different areas, with different lighting. As I previously mentioned I'm a picky perfectionist. The flooring and stairs turned out perfect and we're thrilled with the results. There were several very small spots of polyurethane puddling, which will happen in a project of this size, but Carlos promptly took care of them. He also took care of a small area under a replaced kitchen appliance just this past week, that become exposed when the new appliance was installed. He did this additional service work 7 months after the original work, at a "no charge" to me. Trust me, there are lots and lots of bad contractors doing every type of work, but CV Wood Flooring and Carlos are one of the few good ones out there. If your hardwood flooring is deserving of a great contractor to take good care of them, then CV Wood Flooring should be your first, and only choice. read more

CV Flooring did a fantastic job sanding, staining and finishing our vintage wood living room floors. My initial request was to match the living room to the rest of the finished wood floors on the first floor. I knew it could be done as we had had a different contractor do just that when we renovated our kitchen and found the original wood floors under layers of floor coverings. Carlos was excellent at communication, and was prompt in his arrival every day. He and his men were very professional and his price quoted was within our budget. The stain color turned out a bit darker than the rest of the floors but as it turned out I liked the color and although it didn't match the other floors, it blended. He did two coats of oil poly which in my floors case was not enough. The grain was raised for some reason. When I told him about the problem he came in the next few days and buffed and finished the floor a third time for no charge. Turned out that was the solution as they are now smooth and satiny and just beautiful. Very rich color too. We are very happy with the results. I would use him again for sure if we ever get to the upstairs bedrooms! read more
