When he saw me trying to solve the coffee dilemma, Starbucks vs Dunkin' Donuts he suggested Dunkin'. He explained that for a couple years he was a Starbucks manger but he thought the Dunkin' Donuts coffee was better. I gently accused him of being a turncoat but took his suggestion. He owns the place, you hope he'd know what's best inside it! I walking out and noticed the attached Post Office. As a dude from the suburbs this sends the cutesy-tootsy meter into the red zone. Then I hear the cashier say, "Hey Irv, got your medicine in yesterday. Hang on, let me get that for ya." That's why guys like me love businesses like this!!

Couple of things Right when we walked in we were hit with a funky smell and a lack of baskets/carts.... When I say a lack of I mean none... there were none. Now from the post so far it would seem like this isn't worth 4 stars but! The shelves looked immaculate, fully stocked with a great selection, awesome flow and really clean. A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. The idea with this shop is that every flavor can be tweaked, added to, improved with macerating the item on herbs and spices, or aging it somehow. This shop has applied this principle to liquor, salts, oils, vinegar, and other cooking ingredients. They have a good selection of liquor, but none of it is the typical brands that you see in your local liquor store. Instead, they've done things like aged the whiskey on Madagascar cinnamon to make their own version of Fireball, or added vanilla to the bourbon. They hand bottle all of their spirits, and have them in beautiful displays. They have cooking oils, which smell divine. You can get spices here, but they're mostly spice blends, and not the original ingredients. You can get your own saffron back home- they have their own regional blends. The clerks are quick to help, answer all the questions, and even pour samples! You can tell that they're really into what they do here. They seem to genuinely enjoy playing with liquor and oils and vinegar all day! I would too! The prices are higher than if you just went to The Liquor Barn back home, but this is hand crafted, highest quality infusions and tinctures, and you can tell each bottle is painstakingly made individually. The bottles are hand-lettered, and simply beautiful alone. If you're just looking for a flask of rye whiskey to down outside the Million Dollar Cowboy Saloon, this isn't the place to go. If you're looking for hand crafted, lovingly made herbal concoctions- this is it.
