    I Dream of Fall

Best ice cream i've ever had. Got the I Dream for Fall which is a pumpkin cheesecake ice cream. Super creamy. They dont do scoops after Halloween for the winter but we split a small pint.

The ice cream and milk products exceeded all expectations! This was a great find, and we just followed the signs off the highway. Convenient little stop. We will be back.

Saw a sign for ice cream at Shumway Farms on our way towards Jackson. Of course, I had to stop and grab some fresh ice cream. Many other friendly travelers had the same idea. I had a scoop of cookies and cream. Such a tasty treat on a road trip! There are plenty of farm animals around and some hay bales for people to sit on and enjoy ice cream. Can't wait to try some other flavors on my next trip up!

    Sunset over shumway farms!

Great family farm selling the best ice cream in town (I had the watermelon and huckleberry) they have all kinds of products for sale and their own beef/pork products as well. Will be a staple stop off for us when we visit family in town! Beautiful sunset and ice cream date night! Highly recommend. Portions are huge just fyi :) delicious!

I have been to this place several times now and it is amazing. It's on the way to the Grand Tetons and if you aren't careful you may miss their signs advertising their ice cream. The signs lead you right to their farm and the store is back behind their house. There is lots of space to eat outside and I believe they even have a petting zoo at different times of the year. When you go in the store they have lots of different kinds of dairy products, but I come for the ice cream. It's delicious! So much so that I have to stop to get some each time I pass by, even if I only had it a few days prior. My favorite part is that they change flavors often and like to get creative. It's a fun find and hope you will make your way here some day. Please note that they are closed on Sundays.

I loved my coconut almond chocolate flavor. I was pleased that they were happy to scoop my ice cream into my own cup so that the cardboard wouldn't be wasted. Save the earth! My husband did not care for his salted Caramell pretzel flavor. They also sell milk cheese and meat. Great stop only a minute or two off the highway.

What pleasant experiences we've had at Shumway Farms!! We saw banners and signs advertising fresh ice cream as we were driving down Highway 89, and off we went! :) We have gone to their farm twice now, and both times we were immediately greeted by a couple of gregarious young gals. They were just the sweetest, most pleasant employees. Both visits, there were 7-8 of us in our group and the scoopers patiently offered samples of whatever flavors of ice cream we wanted to try. The days we went there was quite the variety of flavors. There were a couple of kinds of chocolate, along with pistachio, vanilla bean, lemon chiffon, piña colada, bubblegum, mint chocolate chip, raspberry cheesecake, cookie dough, a dairy-free sorbet, etc. Fantastic! My favorite was the 'How Now Brown Cow', as seen in one of my photos. :) Shumway Farms's ice creams are of exceptional quality, made of raw organic milk from happy cows! It truly was a delicious experience. They have fridges where they sell their organic dairy products, meats, and ice creams. Since their dairy products are made with raw milk, they're loaded with healthy probiotics. Raw milk is also significantly easier to digest for people with lactose intolerance, vs pasteurized milk. In fact, two people in our group were lactose intolerant, and they gobbled up the ice cream without any future discomfort. We each ordered a kiddie sugar cone and they served us very generous scoops for an amazing price! (see third photo for pricing) Both times we left the farm with very positive experiences. Five stars isn't enough. I'd give them ten stars if I could. If you're traveling like we were, Shumway Farms is just off of either highway (89 & 241) so it provides travelers a nice tasty break, and it's super easy to get back on the road. You'll start seeing their ice cream banners and signs as you're driving south from Afton, or as you're heading north from Smoot. When you pass the "one mile" sign, start slowing down otherwise you might miss the turn! :)

The ice cream is good. They've got some unique flavors and they do fruit smoothies and shakes too. The employees are refreshingly polite. The interior is decorated in cool, dangerous looking sawmill-type stuff. But they're a little off the rails when it comes to sizes and pricing. What they call a child size, everyone else in the world calls a single. Their single....has two scoops. I had to double check but the girl assured me that was the right size. I'd be scared to see what a triple would be at this place. They have to serve it in a small bucket! They've even got a few ice cream themed books for the kiddies to read on the hearth. Stories about the history and manufacture of this festive, frozen finery. So go. Dig into some inappropriately inexpensive ice cream and go learn something! But do it fast before they smarten up and raise the prices. 2013 #143 / 365

The owner / manager on duty is terrible at caring for customers. An older lady wearing glasses and a big cross necklace. My sons ice cream was literally flowing down the side of the bowl when they handed it to us, so I asked them to put the smaller bowl into a larger one so we could carry it. She came from across the counter to make sure we were charged $.25 for the extra bowl. Then, our friends little girl was handed her ice cream which immediately fell off the cone because it wasn't pressed down into the cone. The manager literally watched a 5 year old girl's ice cream fall off the the cone, turned her mom and said "I'll have to charge you for another one". Despite what is some of the best ice cream in town, I would never come back and do business with a company that doesn't even have a sense of decent customer service, much less any form of Wyoming hospitality.
