This shop is bad. Their items are overpriced, one item I looked at was $150 more than you can buy for online. They told me their policy is they force customers to wear a mask but employees do not have to wear masks and don't. What even is that? They said they make rules for others but they don't have to follow those rules. Another time I was here they said they had 20% off items and I said how much is this and they took it to their manager and they said they'd charge me more than the 20% off price. After saying you just told me it's 20% off and that's more finally they said they'd do the 20% off price then. Then they said they'd sell me the case for it separate for $80 more (ripoff) even though the case comes with the item. This store is a joke. read more

I came in a few times looking for records They do have and carry a few records I've been in a few time but every time I go in seems like they have a person with no Experience pricing records. You can pick up a vintage record and look at the disc and the disc is thrashed where it's not even playable ( I wouldn't recommend playing it) but regardless They seem to have an idea to price I don't know what source they used to price records But they're idea of pricing records is a "Super Joke" Beat up thrashed records and they are asking Over $4.99 a records? I'm just laughing at these people's and since they're asking so much for these records they just have them laying on the floor thrown around , without a care for them . They should have the common courtesy to arrange them and organize they're stuff. The employees doing nothing collecting hours looking all cool they should do some real work , they should have them do some house keeping around the store or something not just standing around waiting to do something. Pawn shops can be creepy, scary & just not coo but this place was clean, well lit, employees spoke English and Spanish speakers were also available. FYI... I been coming here for many years now. When I'm short of money I come here to get a quick loan for my gold jewelry. They don't do credit checks, they only check your ID. It's quick and easy, the only bad thing about here is that they choose the loan amount, I asked for more money for my loan and been denied, even though I been coming here for years. This place is god-damned scary. I walked in, looking for a cheap guitar to practice on, and when I did, I noticed I was getting looks that made me feel like I was walking into a prison, and I was some sort of fresh meat. There's a long line of people looking like they were there to pawn some stuff, and they look at you hard. Then there are are those scummy looking patrons that look at you like you're a cheeseburger and they're starving (girls, you know the look, up, then down, then up again, lingering on the breasts...ewww) the whole experience took me about 1 minute. I went in, did a lap, and left because it felt like I was going to be someone's lunch. I will say that it did look organized. I didn't feel like looking around at anything else they might have had....I just wanted to GTFO. We stopped in here this past weekend to take a look at some rings, as we are on a budget we figured a pawn shop would be a good start. Being righ on holt you dont expect much. They have a private lot right behind the store to park in. We walked in and I was quite taken back at how clean and organized the store was. Everything from music, jewelry, tools, electronics....etc. I took off right to the tools. They had a good collection of stuff with what seemed to be pretty good prices. I will say I looked at the bicycles and the prices where sky high for what they where. We looked at the jewelry and the young lady helping us was very nice and took her time showing us different pieces. The prices seemed to be pretty reasonable and the quality of the pieces looked nice. While we did not purchase anything on this trip I am sure we will be back to look and maybe buy in the future. read more

I have been here for the past year between school loans and paying bills. I have been pawning here and there and they are the ones willing to pay the most (unlike the nearby pawnshops around Pomona) for my gold jewelry. When you park in the little private gated lot, you would think that this is a bit sketchy with its bars and such, but that is just a precaution to protect their customers and their store. If you walk inside, everything is well organized and when you need a loan, they use ID and your thumbprint and they give you a receipt if you're pawning something. Please be advised to keep your receipt in a safe spot because that is your only ticket to receive your item back. They don't cut corners because they want to make sure they are protecting the property the best they can. If you've never pawned before (like the first time I went in), they will really willing to help and make the process easy for you. Everyone hits hard times in their lives and they are just ordinary people as well. I haven't bought anything in here yet, but I saw some really decent items such as a few guitars (which I am saving up for) and other things you wouldn't find anywhere else. I've gone in to this pawn shop on several occasions and each time was a horrible experience. Their customer service is terrible and they really aren't interested in helping their customers. I went in one time trying to see how much I could pawn one of my gold bracelets for and the girl helping claimed that the chain just broke in her hands. Getting a loan for my precious music equipment. I've been here a couple of times, and I've always enjoyed the service they provide. Pawn shops are always going to give you 50% of the total value of what you're loaning, so I wasn't expecting anything more then what I was seeking as a loan. This STORE IS HUGE, and the customer service is good as well. I truly do recommend this place for looking for used Music Equipment or Hardware Tools. They are very clean and helpful... and I was impressed with the reassuance they provided to me. Also, there is limited parking on the side of the building and on the street. I took in a $700.00 dollar digital camera to sell and an older white guy that worked behind the counter looked at it and asked if it turns on because the battery was dead,so I asked should I go buy a battery so he can evaluate my camera,and he agreed.I spent over an hour driving and finally found one at radio shack and costs me $21.00.I then return to AJ'S but now there is a young hispanic chick behind the counter.I show her the camera and say the guy suggested I get a new battery so he can value my camera,she seemed surprised that someone working there would make me go all that trouble,as if she knew my camera was worh pennies.She then goes looking for him in the back room and then returns five minutes later saying its worth 10 bucks.Her reason is that he said its not a modern camera by looking at it. She actually was more intellegent than the older man and 100% more likely to have saved me the trouble of buying a new battery knowing it was worth nothing.This guy must be one of many relatives of the company that work there and could care less in customer service,so she said I was better off keeping the camera.Duh!!! So then I had to drive all the way back to radio shack and get my 21 bucks back. So in conclusion try to deal with the young kids working there and stay away from the older white workers because they seem to serious and unfriendly equaling bad customer service which I realized this by waiting in line.
