I received a text that my prescription was being filled, then two minutes later canceled. I went to pick up some prescriptions, but 2 of them weren't ready, so I waited for about 15 minutes or so and came back to the cashier to pick them up. That's when I was told their system was down and they couldn't finish processing my order. Since I use public transit for the handicapped and I had a few minutes before pickup time, I asked the lady at the counter how long it would take for the system to come back on line and she said it would take 15-20 minutes. Since I had the time, I told her I'd like to wait. After 20 additional minutes, an announcement came over the store's PA system saying that all transactions were cash-only since the store's entire system had crashed. Realizing that I had ample cash to pay for my order, I approached the check-out counter and informed the cashier that I had sufficient funds to pay cash, but she still refused to fill my order. When I protested that I was using para-transit services, and I would have to make a second trip, somebody called out from behind the counter, "Ahhh, he doesn't have a car", and everybody called out from behind the counter, "Ahhhhh" all in unison! I have never in all my 70 years been shown such extreme contempt and disrespect for the elderly and disabled such as myself. I have already moved all my prescriptions to another pharmacy, and I will never shop at another CVS ever again. I would strongly advise all others to do the same.
