Found this place by accident and it had great reviews so we tried it. I had the breaded fish plate and it was fabulous! Wish I Lu ed closer!

I went on a Friday around 1pm and no customers were there. I ordered the food to go and the cashier was nice. Food came out about 10min later. It tried it when I got home. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked well. The rice tasted good. Overall it was good but not great, I would return if I was nearby but I probably wouldn't go out of my way for this.

If you're craving authentic Dominican food in Miami, Ali E is the spot. This hidden gem serves up bold flavors, generous portions, and that real homemade sazón that hits every time. From juicy pollo guisado to perfectly seasoned mangú with salami, queso frito, and eggs, every bite tastes like it came straight from the island. The vibes are chill, the service is friendly, and the prices are solid for the quality. Whether you're Dominican or just a fan of Caribbean food done right, Ali E will have you coming back for seconds.

Oh my goodness I came back for more of their mangú but since there was ...none left, I tried their pork mofongo and it was SO EXCELLENT!!!!! I had two tiny cups of garlic sauce and it made the mofongo very moist and delicious! It came with chicharrón mmmmm I hadn't had a really good plate of ...mofongo in years, and this was exactly the taste that I was hoping for. I actually felt like I was in Puerto Rico again listening to their hot Juan Luis Guerra music playing inside. Now I want to come back for their vianda sancocho which sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! This place is ABSOLUTELY HOT!!!!!!! ¡EN LA MADRE!

Flew in from California for a cruise staying at a hotel nearby. This place was the perfect closing to our trip. We wanted to try authentic Dominican food and we were met with deliciousness! This place deserves more attention. We came on lunch on a Tuesday and it was empty inside. The meats were cooked to perfection and the flavors were great. First timers left with a lasting impression. Great ambiance, quick service.

Service was amazing, Luce was our server and she didn't speak english as well and my spanish is barely understandable so we made it work. The portions were HUGE, but I took off a star just because she was serving alone and there were others. And cause it was our first time eating here and had no idea what to eat these with. The ambiance was relaxing and casual.

Aki has had me in a chock-hold for the past 2 weeks since I went for the first time. I'm a little ashamed of how many times I've come. The iced coffee and the flavor in food has made me a repeat customer. It tastes like real home cooked food my abuelita (grandma) would've made back in the day. Their rice and beans are so yummy and filling. Their options in proteins are perfection. Whole fried fishes, shellfish, beef and chicken in every way you can think of. Their pork chicharones are perfection. Now don't expect to get fancy. But that doesn't matter. Good service and quality, flavorful, food for the win always!!!

The restaurant had advertised World Cup specials on social media, including beer buckets for $19 and shots for $5. However, when we received the bill, we were charged $45 for each beer bucket and $15 per shot. At no point when we walked in, sat down, or ordered were we told that the advertised prices would not apply or that different event pricing was being charged. When we questioned it, we were told that another restaurant across the street was charging a $50 cover for the game, but that has nothing to do with the prices this restaurant advertised to its own customers. If prices are going to change for a specific game or event, that should be clearly disclosed before people order, not after they receive the bill. They offered a $20 credit, but that did not come close to addressing the issue. I am not upset about paying for what we ordered. I am upset that the pricing was not transparent and did not match what was being advertised. Be careful and confirm all prices before ordering here, especially during special events or games. My friends and I will never step foot in here again. Greedy asf.

IG: @shallonztable El Tiesto Cafe in Fort Lauderdale is one of those hidden gems you might pass by if you're not paying attention and that would be a mistake. Th From the outside, it's unassuming. Step inside and you're met with neon accents, an industrial-style space, and a thoughtful blend of Dominican and Japanese décor through the art work that reflects exactly what the menu delivers: balance, culture, and intention. The menu offers a solid mix of appetizers, sandwiches, sushi, and entrées all weaving Dominican comfort with Japanese-inspired elements. The music sets the tone perfectly: upbeat, vibey, and not overpowering, so you can actually enjoy conversation. It's family friendly as there was a mix of various groups and ages enjoying the establishment. Dining is available both indoors and outdoors, with an upstairs lounge that opens later in the evening for DJ sessions on weekends making this a great dinner-to-night-out spot. It's conveniently located just before the train tracks, with paid street parking and nearby lots available. Service stood out immediately. When we arrived, managers were hands-on and present, explaining that things pick up later in the night. I noticed Rollo in particular consistently welcoming guests, walking them through the menu, seating them, and pointing out essentials like restroom locations. That kind of consistency matters. The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel easy. What We Ordered & Loved: Mini Mofongos - Beef & Chicken ($15) Served in green plantain cups, these mini mofongos were savory, garlicky, and comforting. Both meats were juicy and well-seasoned. Picadera de Campo Sampler ($38) A Dominican-style platter with sausage, chicken wings, fried cheese, salami, fried green plantain, and yuca fries. This sampler brought full Dominican vibes to the table. I'm not usually a wings person, but these were naked, well-seasoned, and surprisingly good. That Yuca came topped with chimichurri sauce, that was a rich harmonious blend herbs and garlic coming through and man it was delicious along with everything on the platter. And fried cheese? Always a yes. Great portion, great presentation, perfect for sharing. La Chapi Roll ($18) Chicken tempura, bacon, cream cheese, ripe plantain, chicharrón, eel sauce, sweet chili, bell peppers, and mashed avocado. Now let me be clear -- I am not a sushi lover. But this? One of my favorite dishes of the night. The crunch, the sweetness from the chili sauce, the richness of the tempura, every bite delivered balance of everything. This roll is a must-order, especially if sushi usually isn't your thing. Tiesto Chofan ($20) Dominican-style fried rice we had the mix of chicken and shrimp, it was layered, perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and packed with flavor, they didn't hold back on the protein. This is one of those dishes I'd recommend to everyone, comforting, bold, and satisfying and balanced with the ripe plantains. La Cosquillita ($26) 24-hour Dominican-seasoned baby back ribs glazed in a homemade Japanese BBQ sauce, served with sushi rice and tostones. You can smell the ginger in the sauce before the first bite, and it creates a cohesive, balanced flavor that pairs beautifully with the fresh sushi rice and plantains. It's a balance of ginger in the bbq sauce that makes the dish interesting, the meat was tender and flavour forward. Tiesto Tres Leches ($8) Flavor-wise, it's very vanilla forward, but I personally wished the cake was more soaked. It was light, still enjoyable just not my favorite dish of the night. The flavor of the milk was amazing, spiced and flavourful and would make it even better if soaked a bit more. Extras Worth Noting 20% Service charge is automatically included. Street paid parking is available. They offer nightly specials . I do like they had a Saturday specials, and unlike most places, Saturday 2x1 drink special on mojitos, margaritas, sangria from 3pm-5pm which makes this an easy early-evening stop. Overall, El Tiesto Cafe delivers on atmosphere, service, and flavor. It's a place where cultures meet, food tells a story, and the vibe carries you from dinner into the night. Unfortunately, the service has been a huge disappointment the last two times I've visited. As you can see from my photo, the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so there really wasn't a reason for the delays. We sat at our table waiting for someone to take our order while our waitress continued helping other tables and never came to ours. It wasn't until I asked for our server that she finally came over to take our order. After that, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally arrived, most of it was only semi-warm. The only dish that came out fresh and hot was the steak tostones, which were delicious. Everything else, including the other entrées and sides, was lukewarm and honestly disappointing. What makes this even more frustrating is that this wasn't my first experience like this. I had previously visited with a friend and received the same poor service and semi-cold food. I decided to give Yarumba another chance by coming back with my daughter, hoping the first visit had just been an off day. Sadly, nothing had changed. It seems like the staff spends more time talking amongst themselves than checking on customers or making sure food is coming out promptly. Good food and a fun atmosphere can only make up for so much when the service consistently falls short. At this point, I don't see myself coming back for dinner. If I do return, it would only be to sit at the bar for drinks. I truly hope management addresses these issues because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

They're open quite late, so it was nice to have the option on UberEats for delivery past midnight! **Yarao-- fries topped with a layer of melted cheese and chicken, smothered in another layer of mayo and ketchup. Pretty sweet and tasty, enjoyed this one :) ** Fritura Mixta / Mixed fried plate-- big platter of fried pork belly, cheese, chicken, beef, sausage, sausage links, and plantains. Meats were mostly dry and needed to be dipped in sauce. I liked the fried cheese, which were hearty and squishy like poutine curds and the sausage links, while friends liked the plantains (which were also tasty the next day!). Nice to try the variety, but wouldn't order again since we didn't finish most of it. ** Mofongo-- came with fried pork belly and sausages plus lettuce swimming in mayo. Friends told me the mofongo usually has a meat filling in the middle, but this version was an entire mound of the same plantain mixture and texture. It was dry and hard to cut even with a plastic knife, and it was actually hard for me to swallow too but would probably benefit by dipping in sauce or ketchup. ** Burrito-- description on the menu was not very.. descriptive, but it was filled with steak, lettuce, tomatoes, and the mayo/ketchup sauce. This was an overall juicy and flavorful item, but the steak was stark contrast and pretty dry, making it hard to tear or bite off pieces. This burrito was my favorite of the meal! ** Pizza Empanada-- There was lot of fried shell to get through on the sides before reaching the middle filled with cheese and pizza sauce. Pretty tasty, quite oily~ ** Chicken tacos-- came with little cups of hot sauce and salsa + lime halves, but the shredded meat was super dry and literally hard to swallow. We didn't make it past one bite. Overall, happy to try them and filled us up for a late meal when options were limited but I'm sure there are better places for Dominican food out there.
