Wife had a itch for Dominican food and we decided to stop by El Conuquito which was in the area. We arrived around 7pm and parking was relatively easy as they have their own lot. The tables are outside but covered. As should be expected Latin music is playing all through out the place and at just that right volume level where you have to talk just a little bit louder and using your hands. The restaurant was lively and had a good amount of people. We ordered the Mangu and the Locrio de Cerdo amongst other things. Everything was really good. Food took awhile to come out but heard they had one person in the kitchen. But good company and good music makes the wait better. Overall it was a good place and it definitely gives off local spot vibes. Recommend if you are looking for some good Dominican food and vibes. read more

One of my go-to spots! I've been to this restaurant a few times now, and it never disappoints. The food is exactly what you'd hope for from a Dominican kitchen -flavorful, comforting, and served in generous portions. The staff, especially the ladies, are always so friendly and welcoming. There's a real family vibe here that makes you feel at home right away. The outdoor seating area is a nice touch too !! super relaxed, with people enjoying drinks, chatting, and soaking in the good energy. Service is consistently great, whether dining in or ordering out. This time I got delivery(chicken de pollo -fried chicken rice and beans with a side salad and tostones , and even then, the food arrived warm, fresh, and still just as delicious. If you're craving authentic Dominican food in a laid-back, friendly setting, this place is worth checking out. If I could change just one thing it would be allowing the option to choose your side because the tostones(banana) are the mandatory side for this dish however I like to pair it with rice and beans. I stopped in here with my employees for lunch. There is parking in front of the building as well as along the side street. We were seated pretty promptly, but service was a bit slow overall. It took a while for our orders to be taken as well as for the food to come out. Now the food is delicious. Everyone really loved what they had. I had the Mofongo. This is one of my favorite dishes, and the one prepared here was very good. My employees also stated that their meals were very, very good. It took a long time to get the check. We love the Dominican food from this restaurant. It is has fresh ingredients and is tasty. I'm glad that I can order from them on UberEats. I ordered the pork chops with yuca and it also comes with a small cabbage salad in vinaigrette sauce. Everything was delicious the chops were juicy and the yuca crispy with the red onions was so complimentary. My mom ordered the pork stew with arroz Moro and small cabbage salad. She loved her dish and still had leftovers for the next day. The portions are large enough to share have as leftovers. I came across this place on my way from Miami to FL, and I must say it was a good time. It is outdoor seating only and I noticed a lot of their business was from takeout orders. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but please note it seems that the staff only speak Spanish. Luckily my boyfriend is fluent in Spanish, so he was able to ask for everything I needed. But I'm sure with a little bit of knowledge, you should be able to get by. The food came out relatively fast and it was my first time trying Dominican food. Wow talk about while in the wall jem, you want food with flavors and great tasting this is the place. Service was great only has outdoor seating so would recommend coming in a cool day or night although they do have lots of fans located on the roofs. Ambiance was an old school DR location you might find on the beach if you visit the island. Food came out quick and hit and with tons of flavor. Only reason for the 4 stars was bathroom was a bit undesirable and location along with parking. But other than that everything I ate and drank oh yea make sure you order the authentic shakes wow and wow so delicious. But will for sure be back. read more

I was craving Mofongo so bad!! Did a quick search for a Dominican restaurant nearby and this was the closest place to me, which is crazy that I never even noticed this restaurant since we get food from Pinolandia all the time, which is right across. Anyway, decided to order through Grubhub for pick up. I ordered the mofongo with pork and my husband ordered the biste encebollado. This restaurant had some food truck vibes. It's basically a structure with a window and an open sitting area with fans. As soon as I drove by, I felt like I was in DR, merengue on full blast! As I walked in, I noticed every single table had Presidente. It almost made me want to stay and join them. It was such a fun vibe! I went at night and they were playing very loud music... VERY LOUD . I ordered shrimp mofongo ,goat stew with rice/ beans ,and a passion fruit drink. The Mofongo wasn't what I expected. It was a bit dry even with the shrimp in Alfredo sauce. The goat stew was the star. I've eaten goat before-- Jamaican curry goat -- but this goat stew was really different . It was yummy. It was a tad bit on the salty side though .The rice and beans was ok. They're a little stingy with the beans though. Would I go back? Yeah .. for breakfast. found this gem while looking for a quick appetizer type bite and place an order for pick up. Was told the food will be ready in 20 minutes and it sure was when I got there. I hadn't read the reviews much I just saw a few pictures so I was shocked to come and see they had karaoke on Saturdays. The vibe was very Santo Domingo if you ask me being from there and seeing everyone sit outside with a few beers and food is so chill. I will most def come back on a weekend to enjoy the vibe. We got a large picadera that is suppose to serve 3-4 people but honestly it was so much food! Tostones, Longaniza, salami, pollo, carne frita & cheese. I've never met a Dominican restaurant who gives so much protein in the picadera I was in heaven! Only bad thing was that for all that carne we only had about 10 pieces of cheese *insert sad face here* most def needs more cheese but this was excellent. For $25 totally worth it. read more

I was so excited to eat here, I thought "it's a little hole in the wall, the food is going to be the bomb.com". Sadly, that was not the case. We both ordered the Quattro Golpes, my hubby with the Mangu and me with the Yucca. The food was bland and cold, the eggs were over cooked and the plantains were undercooked. The only thing I liked was the yucca and that's thanks to the pickled red onions (sorry no picture). The seating is open so, tons of flies. I found this place looking for good authentic Dominican food online. I saw the great reviews and thought I'd come give it a try. It looked like a local's spot and hole in the wall restaurant from the reviews and pictures, so I was excited to try it out. My girlfriend an I pulled in and there is parking out front along with on the side of the restaurant. We were a little puzzled at first because it is a little hard to tell which part is the entrance of the establishment. There was Spanish music playing that is audible from the parking lot, so we walked our way towards it! The place is not fancy in the least. The whole feel of this restaurant reminds me of being in someone's backyard with a canopy blocking out the sun. I've never been to the Dominican Republic but I assume this would give off the feel of being there. That's the best way I can explain it! They were at about 80% capacity when I got there and everyone was looking like they were having a great time. Just about everyone had a bucket of Coronas at their table. We were greeted promptly and looked at the specials for the day, along with their regular menu. We decided to go for the Chicken stew with rice and beans, and the chicharron de pollo (fried chicken pieces) with rice and beans as well. The food came out fairly quickly and it looked and smelled divine. It was a generous portion and we couldn't wait to dig in. The chicken stew was phenomenal. The sauce was delicious and flavorful and the chicken was cooked to perfection and tender. The rice and beans were equally as good. My girlfriend's chicharron de pollo was also delicious. Extremely crispy pieces of chicken packed with flavor. Both of our dishes tasted homemade; just like someone's grandmother cooked these meals just for us at their home. The prices were more than fair ($9 & $11 for our meals) and you get a great portion of food. If you are looking for an authentic Dominican meal you must come check this place out. Best chicharron de pollo I've ever tried. They have daily specials at really good prices but unfortunately the service is the worst here. I've never have to call a waitress so many times to ask for just a glass of water, thank god i was not choking on a chicken bone or i wouldn't be writing this review. They take forever to come to your table and then to ask for anything else feels as if you are bothering them. Like I said service is horrible but the food is really good and that chicharron de pollo is delicious and crunchy like it supposed to be but great flavor with a side of crunchy tostones which is something Dominicans do really well. If you have the patience to deal with the worst service in town, then by all means swing by and try their daily specials. Update 6/16/17: The service has improved a lot since my last visit here and no complaints about the food as always, that, they do right. For that reason I'll give it an extra star today read more

There's something about this place. If you ever have traveled around Latin America and spotted some worn-looking beachside restaurants - and get that gut feeling that they would have incredible, tasty food that is just made with love - this is the kind of place - even though there's no beach or tropical oasis. It is an oasis in our land of barren concrete. Here, you'll see usually a woman or two manning the kitchen and taking your orders in typical laid-back attire. They run the entire show. And the kitchen is the tiny building itself, with windows / counters on the sides to take your orders and pay - with the dining area being in the shaded patios that flank them. And a youthful cat added to the mix that makes its home here (this is an open-air dining area, so none of the allergy sufferers like myself should worry). And so I've been here twice. First time, I've had the costillas al horno or the oven roasted ribs ($7.50), with the sides of moros (black bean and rice) and a salad (rabbit food - bland lettuce and tomatoes with avocados - I'd recommend another side than this one). The ribs were not your typical ribs that you find in barbecue joints (after all, this is from the oven) but they were surprisingly tender and tasty. The moros were also well-made. The second time I came here, I had chicharrones de pollo or fried chicken ($9), tostones and salad (again, I have no idea why). The fried chicken has got to be one of the best fried chicken I've had in a long while. Moist, well-breaded and with a tasty flavor. The tostones also were some of the best tostones I've had - they were much smaller in size than what I'm accustomed to seeing, but while they were bite-size, they were not overly cooked, certainly not dried out, not too thick, and it just was perfect to the bite. And salad.... rabbit food, again. And they also do have good juice drinks - the morir soñando (citrusy lime, orange milk shake) and the chinola (passion fruit) juice that just tastes like they do in Latin America. So overall, I've had two amazing meals that were both reasonably priced, and served in large portions. And with the open-air ambience that revokes memories of being in the Caribbean. I've come by twice during the off-hours (nearly 3 PM), and there were still people coming in and out, as this place seems to be loved by the locals. The only thing that makes this place stands out from other beachside shacks in Latin America is that they accept credit cards and also have wi-fi. Talk about cutting-edge, haha. Recommended. Will return, and will try the soups / stews that seem to be popular here as well. read more

This is not a fancy restaurant so don't come expecting luxury. The building is from the 70's. Its an outside patio with very loud music and tons of ceiling fans. So now that we got that out of the way lets talk about the restaurant. I felt like i went to DR when i visited this place. The owner will come and have a beer with you and i even saw her starting some hooka. I tried the mofongo with pork and it was amazing. 10 stars on flavor. Will definitely come back.
