Came here because of the good reviews. My husband ordered the chaufa and I ordered the seafood soup. For $23 I thought it would be a larger bowl and it would come with rice - but instead it came in a very small bowl and no rice. I didn't think it had enough seafood for the price - no crab, clams, or scallops. Unless I'm craving chaufa I probably would not be back. I didn't think the food was that good. The restaurant is a bit run down but it was nice to have free parking behind the restaurant. Gratuity and an additional 3% credit card fee were added. Side of rice was an additional $5. I haven't in this spot in a long time, and came back for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant is very small inside, they have old school songs playing, the kitchen was very busy the food took a long time to arrive because everything comes out freshly made but we were so hungry! Once the food was out then it made the 30min worth it, there was a lil misunderstanding with the arroz tapado because I asked what was in it, they said meat carrots and peas but it actually has olives, and the flavor is very strong, it wasn't bad but if someone doesn't like it it's something to keep in mind. Last Wednesday, 11/27 went to lunch with a friend of mine. We had been there a while ago and remembered that the food was delicious. This time we were disappointed. The place looks very run down, there was a weird smell when you first walked in, and the food was ok, not as good as before. We ordered the chicken chufa and the tallarines de pollo. As stated before, it was just ok. I will not be going back but the place had a lot of traffic and it looks like these are recurring clients. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. I will not rate this place or ever eat here. . I placed an order to go on Friday when I I got home my ceviche was not edible. The water was dark brown the ceviche was not made fresh. My entire order was cold. I refused to eat the ceviche and when I called to complain and advised that I would be stopping by so they can see what was sold to me, the young lady/host stated she called the owners and stated they do not refund or at least change the food. We ate a ceviche it was tasty not the best but decent the sweet potato was amazing it tasted like cinammon!! The anticuchos were deeeelicious. Located on Dixie highway by the Hallandale beach fashion district, it sits on a quiet corner. I had a seafood mixto with delicious mix of spices that I can still taste way after I finished. I didn't want the rice so the waitress accommodated with a nice salad.I also ordered a tamale that was delish as well. Tamale was made differently than in a Mexican place. Small place but a Jewel . I found this place obviously on Yelp. Came in with my family to enjoy a nice lunch. Places like this are the ones that need that community support. The waitresses looks like was owner and the cook family related too. Food was cooked perfectly and fresh. I had the lomo saltado very well balance flavors; meat cooked perfectly. My son had pollo saltado with tallarín. My son testified that it was delicious since he didn't leave anything on his plate. My daughter had the chicken salad she was satisfied with it however she commented that the chicken was not seasoned properly.
