Massages, facials, spa packages, specialized services. Waxing, etc. When you arrive, after checking in, you're seated inside a special room, with soft music, lights. They offer hot tea or water, then you're welcomed by your therapist. I always leave very relaxed and happy. read more

This is my first massage that's recommended by other yelpers. I usually just get a Groupon coz I'm cheap but I always end up dissatisfied. I read the stellar reviews of this place and I thought I couldn't go wrong with it. I checked their prices and they're one of the more reasonably priced ones in the area. I very badly needed a deep tissue massage and not only that, but just to release tension overall and loosen tight muscles. It's been 10 days today since my brother died and the lack of sleep and overall stress is taking a toll on me. So, I took the plunge and got the 90 min deep tissue session. I booked last night and I'm scheduled at 1 pm the next day. I walked in 10 mins before 1 pm and was ushered to the waiting room. The kind lady gave me a mint-infused water. Shortly after, Pat came and took me to the massage room. I have to say, she probably started on the dot, right at 1 pm. And I really like that. There's rarely any place now that starts on time. More often, they start ushering in clients at the start of the session. So the actual massage is about 10-15 mins later than the start time. When Pat finished, she clocked out at 2:27 pm, which isn't bad at all so I have time to dress up. Yea, I'm really a stickler when it comes to time and this place sure did impress me. On my intake form, I mentioned that I'm not new to massages and I give them consent to "dig deep". And boy, did she dig deep! And I love it! I don't know how many times I drifted in and out of sleep during the entire session. And I'm very impressed at how consistently she maintained the pressure the entire duration of the session. I'm home now and I'm about to pass out. And that's a really good thing! I'll be back for more sessions for sure! read more

Got massages by Rene friday and I find it hard to believe a masseuse doesn't know where the radial and sciatic nerve runs and to avoid it. My time in the military taught me these areas are great to use on bad guys. I'll save my money and let the Rottweiler down the road maul me for an hour instead for free. I've visited Akoya for many different treatments and have always been satisfied. For the value, these are some of the best massages in the area, hands down. The quality of massage is really outstanding, I would put them up against any big spa inside the Loop. As for the facials, I have enjoyed them and think they are professionally done, and again, really outstanding for the Clear Lake and extended area. They have most of the things you would look for and the quality is comparable with the bigger competitors like Milk and Honey. The spa has new equipment, the owner has clearly invested in this place. The services and areas where the services are performed are great. I will however say, they do not have a shower area or locker room, there are no extra amenities, and the waiting area is not particularly relaxing or extra comfortable. This is not a spa you go to to hang out with your friends all day and have a mimosa. And you know what, that's more than fine and you're also not having to pay for all that extra stuff. Again, I can't recommend this place enough. I think Akoya has really gotten it down and invested in great technicians and equipment. It's clean, professional and top notch service. read more

My husband is not one to usually take the time and spend his money on a facial, but he said it was a five star experience. His skin is glowing and he enjoyed the extraction portion of the facial. I had Sabrina who is lovely and very knowledgeable about my skin type since she's worked on me the past few years. My facial this time had a plethora of lovely aromas. From a paprika mask to a seaweed mask and ooh the yummy smelling strawberry lotion neck/hand massage everything was perfect. I came in and decided to invest my money on the acne facial. I definitely was wanting to quit using the face wash I was using called Osmosis and use there's for two weeks to see how my skin was. Suffering a lengthy history of trauma, I am very apprehensive of seeing male therapists. He is very professional and never made me feel uncomfortable. Omg the best experience ever! I can't remember the young ladies names that did my services but they were awesome! When you first walk in you are greeted by a lovely receptionist who takes you to a waiting room and offers you tea and fruit! I was then taken for my massage which was the most relaxing thing. It was quiet and calm and the young lady was gentle and made sure I was ok. I received the Amaterasu Package and the scrub was so nice. The whole atmosphere was amazing. Wow! Akoya blew me away! I scheduled a massage with Mandy on a Friday afternoon. I arrived a few minutes early to walk into a beautiful, clean space. I was instantly greeted and taken to the waiting room and provided with water. Again, I love the atmosphere and how relaxing the vibe is! After a few minutes, Mandy came in and greeted me and we went back. The rooms are stunning and the bed was warmed. Now Mandy- literally amazing. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I filled out a pre-massage survey/form prior to coming for my appointment, and it seemed the masseuse was not provided that information. I've been receiving massages fairly regularly for the past year or so, and I've run the gamut from $50 massages at Massage Envy to $800 couples massages at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Of all the massages I've ever had (which includes approximately 20-25 unique massage therapists) the 90 minute massage I had with Chelsea was absolutely *world class* . I can't speak more highly about the quality of the massage that Chelsea provides! I chose a Swedish massage with firm pressure and it was perfection. It blows my mind that of all the reviews on this website there's only one other review that speaks (highly!) of Chelsea. Make no mistake you are getting a world class massage at an amazingly affordable deal! I had been looking forward to my first facial and had a super rough morning. She recommended the mochi facial (added a manual extraction) which includes a buccal(cheek) massage to help relieve stress and tension in the face. Akoya has brought me out of my Yelp review slumber!! *confetti shoots in air* I had the pleasure of spending a few hours of my birthday in this beautiful spa. I was running a little late due to typical Houston traffic but these ladies were very understanding. I arrived at my appointment and was greeted by name and wished away to the relaxation area. There, I filled out my necessary documents and when I was done my masseuse was standing by waiting. I had a 90 minute customized massage. It was amazing!! How amazing you ask? Couldn't tell ya, I fell asleep. Right after I had my massage, the facial specialist came in and immediately began my facial. Now this facial thing is new to me because I'm very sensitive about my face but my goodness it was soooooo relaxing. I advised her of my sensitive skin and she only organic products. The ambience was amazing! The staff was professional and quiet during my visit. I will return. Oh did I mention the eucalyptus foot bath I had while I waited on my ride home?! Can't say enough great things about Akoya! The new facility is extremely nice, and all the staff have great attitudes and treat you very well! My wife and I get massages here regularly, and all of the Massage Therapists are great. I have been using Mandi Fuller specifically for about a year and she is amazing at her craft. I have never walked out of a session with her without feeling completely rejuvenated and having all the back and muscular pains healed. She will come up with a plan each session to work out the 'ailing' areas, and also make the massage relaxing without hurting you. I would not go anywhere else! read more

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at Akoya. I came in for a prenatal massage and a lash tint. The woman who gave me my prenatal massage was unprofessional and the entire massage felt rushed - as if she was doing me a favor. She also asked me to lay on my belly *my very pregnant belly* for the duration of the massage (which I refused) and then she placed one pillow to my side...which is not typical for a prenatal massage. Then, my lash tint - I had to wait for 30 minutes ( I think they forgot that I was waiting). The tint burned by eyes SO badly. The girl said that it was normal to burn a little but I actually couldn't see out of my eyes for about 5 minutes because they were tearing and burning so badly - I had to demand to wash my eyes out in the bathroom sink because she just kept telling me that it was normal and squirting saline into my eyes - FYI...this is not normal. And, to top it off, I couldn't notice any tint at all on my lashes after it was all said and done. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience and will likely not return. I have had two very very good massages here in the past but this terrible experience would make it very difficult for me to return. read more
