I'm a regular at the Citrus Nail Salon on Nassau Bay, and I usually won't go anywhere else unless I have to. But today, I went in for a fresh set, and they were closed for renovations, so I decided to try their sister store in Webster. Honestly, I wish I hadn't bothered. I walked in, showed them a picture of what I wanted, and explained it. To my knowledge, she understood but she had an attitude the whole time. It felt like she was rushing because she wanted to go home, even though I came in two and a half hours before closing. She was supposed to put dip powder on, but instead, she started applying shellac to my natural nails. I told her I didn't want to see my natural nail underneath, and she got really angry, saying I was wasting her time and changing my mind. I explained that all I wanted was for my nails to look like the picture; I wasn't changing my mind at all. Eventually, the receptionist had to step in because the nail tech was being completely unprofessional. The receptionist was super nice and understanding, and really sticking up for me. In the end, the nail tech refused to do my nails, saying she was done and wanted to go home, claiming they couldn't do what I was asking because they didn't have it. The receptionist corrected her, saying they did have it; I just didn't want it see-through. When the receptionist told her they had what I was asking for, she went and picked a color that was nowhere near what I wanted, almost like she was mocking me. I felt really uncomfortable by the end of it, and honestly, that's not the kind of experience you want when you're spending over $100 on nails, especially when they're trying to do something completely different from what I asked for. Then the tech got rude with the receptionist, telling her to take $10 off my total and that I'd have to come back another day, even though I told her I couldn't because of work. The receptionist didn't charge me, and I left with nothing on my nails. Honestly, the whole experience was just completely frustrating and unacceptable! I will not be going back. I asked for her name, and she refused to give it to me. She even went as far as telling the receptionist to do my nails as she refused it. It was just a really disappointing experience overall, and I can't believe how unprofessional she was. If I could give them lower than a 1 star, I definitely would. The only thing that saved this place was the receptionist. Store - Baybrook strip mall, near la Madeleine. Had a French Pedi and a manicure with a buff and shine. Asked to cut toenails as short as possible - never happened. The Massage was not even close to good. The girl that did my manicure was more interested in customers coming in and rushed the mani. Very rough too. My nails were buffed n polished haphazardly - the massage wasn't good either. My cuticles need to trimmed again. For a 24.00, manicure wasn't worth it. Period. With tips, 84.00. Pedi was just ok. I got my nails done here less than 2 weeks ago and all my nails with out being funny fell off. Also, I went there with an specific picture and idea of what I wanted and the guy that did my nails didn't follow at all what I wanted at the beginning my nails ended up looking animal print and were supposed to be more like a pumpkin as we were on spooky season. I went to this place because I usually go to Citris on League city but they were full already, but I never before had all my nails done and week later most of them falling off and rn I don't even have nails and I'll be a week in Saturday, I wanna add that I work in a computer so it's not that I'm doing anything that could possibly cause them to fall that quickly. read more

Got a pedicure. Went from black polish to neon orange. Everything was fine and decided to ask for a white flower for my big toe. Next thing I know, I have a flower and dots around the border of my toe and both toes weren't even with the dots. Not a big deal but not what I asked for. I have a really hard time speaking up when I don't like something, I'd rather deal with it than possibly making someone feel bad. But it's just the more I looked at it the more I just didn't like it. So I said something and had the same lady take it off and repaint it. She was so painful annoyed by me. She was so quick to repaint and it is very obvious. I had orange paint on my skin and it just ended up being really sloppy. I apologized and she didn't say anything and then I said thank you and walked away. Just made me not want to speak up for myself even more. I understand that it can be frustrating but all I asked for was a flower and think that I should've been asked if I wanted anything else. The front desk lady was super sweet though. Also got home and my heels were just as rough as they were when I went in. It's the little things that make a difference and make me want to come back. Went in to get a pedicure and gel nail set for my wedding this weekend. I wanted a milky white color for a timeless look but wanted to do a little something different for the shape. So I decided on almond shaped extensions. I was a little worried about how they would come out, but Ray did a fantastic job. He found me the shade of white I was looking for and a matching nail polish for my toes. Ray was meticulous and gentle the whole process through. 10/10 work! Very disappointed. I've been coming her for months now, at least 5 times. Always thought they were a little pricey, but I enjoyed it usually. Not this time. Everything was rushed, I got a full set and the tech practically burned me multiple times. Pedicure was rushed, hardly worth it. When I went to pay, I got told my full set was $55. I asked, "I don't mind spending the extra $10 I would just like to know why" the receptionist said "for the shape, it's an extra $5." I said okay, I get that but what about the other $5? She said "for the length" I said look at my nails they're not long. She said "did you get your cuticles trimmed?" I said no. "She said did you get precious nails removed?" I said no. This used to be my favorite nail salon and I used to recommend it to all my friends and family and they started to become regulars there as well like myself, but I will honestly no longer be giving this location my business. The customer service at the receptionists desk has totally gone down hill since I first started coming here. Multiple instances have led to this review, between a receptionist lying to a manager or owner if I had my nails done there when I had to do a full set removal a week after they were done and she charged me for it because she didn't care to ask and multiple times I have tried to call to book an appointment and they place me on hold for 10+ minutes and when I hang up and try to call back the phone is now disconnected. It is not hard to let someone know whether its busy and they can call back when its calmed down or if appointments aren't being accepted at the moment because of the high traffic. Staff who do the manicures and pedicures are amazing, but I definitely recommend working on the customer service skills with the receptionists. read more

Horrible service. I honestly wish I could give this place no stars. I booked an appointment a week in advance for my wedding mani pedi, and I requested a certain nail artist. When I arrived at my appointment, the receptionist sounded surprised that I had an appointment at all and asked me to wait. The receptionist had zero customer service skills and looked like she hated being there and that helping me was a bother. She gave me to a random nail artist and not to the one I requested. The woman starts man-handling my hands and nails and is rushing me through the service and was so rough. Buffing so hard and twisting my hands super quickly. Some time into the mani, I asked if she knew that I also booked a pedi (because she sat me down at a table not at the pedi chair). She said "oh, you want a pedicure??" I literally booked a mani/pedi A WEEK IN ADVANCE. They put me in the pedi chair and I swear the mani lady got even rougher. Her work was sloppy, fast, and just disappointing. I even told her these were my WEDDING NAILS. The pedicure lady starts doing my toes and everything is fine until she takes a sharp metal tool and starts jamming it into my left cuticle area on my big toe over and over again. I know. I can't make this up. This goes on for about 15 seconds and then she notices me in pain and flinching and proceeds to tell me that I have "extra skin there". Anyways, she ended up making me bleed enough to have to spray it with alcohol and dump a clotting powder on it. She then gave me the fastest/least amount of effort "massage"... actually I don't even think I can refer to it as a massage. She just kinda ran her hands up and down my feet super fast. I barely got to soak in the cute foot bath, and by the time she dunked me in it was room temp. I will never make the mistake of coming here again. This place has lost me as a client permanently. These women did amazing on my nails. It was my first time in this salon & I will definitely be coming back to them. I showed Joanna a picture and it came out just like I wanted. They both paid attention to detail which is very important to me when it comes to my nails. Pedi by Julia ($50) & acrylics by Joanna ($70). The staff in the entry/check in were not welcoming and the facility was not doing any social distancing that I could tell. In general the facility did not appear clean and tidy and that's the main reason I will not return. Pros: Emily did a great job on my nails Cons: Not clean, towel laid down seemed dirty and dingy, chairs, trash cans, tables, everything in general just not a clean appearance at the time I visited. The color options were in a basket that was messy, disorganized, and unsanitized. I absolutely love coming here! My go to is the hot stone pedicure. The place is clean, everyone who works there is kind and respectful. I have been going consistently for a couple years now and I have never been disappointed! My most favorite technician.... I'm not going to name because I don't want you guys to book her up LOL but seriously everyone is good and after some consistency you will find which technician does it for you best according to what you need most. I really wanted to like this place but did not do it for me. I made an appt for 1pm and the nail tech didn't start working until 1:17pm (similar to other reviews looks like they overbook). When I was seated I was never offered anything to drink. The lady that was doing my nails did an okay job, she never went back to clean out the nail polish on my skin. Their customer service is not great either, agree with other comments about the front desk. When I was being charged the lady never offered if I wanted a receipt and then when I said thank you, it was dead silence, I was at least expecting a your welding or have a nice day, guess that's too much. This Citris is by far my favorite location in Houston. The staff is always extremely welcoming and accommodating. If you walk in without an appointment, they do let you know if you will be waiting for 'X' amount of time, and for the most part it is always fairly accurate. Try to come in with a reservation, you definitely wait less! But regardless, I would wait because the service is always at 100%. I have only ever had pedicures at this location, and wouldn't trade it for anywhere else. Finding a good pedicure place thats sanitary is a bit difficult, jets in pedicure chairs tend not to be sanitized as often so the fact that this place is jet free is a major PLUS as someone who appreciates hygiene. Again, there are no Jets in the pedicure chairs, which means hardly any exposure to any type of fungus lingering around! They're also extremely sanitary when it comes to all their tools. All tools always comes out of a prepackaged bag and a lot of the other accessories used are disposable and removed right after each use. My toes always come out looking and feeling great! read more

Decided to have a last minute pedicure with the girls! Had to get that red polish for Asian New Years! As always, very relaxing and it was just nice to have some me-time. Clean nail shop (which is great because of all this covid stuff). Clearly saw disinfectant wipes around the store (yay! Here's to cleanliness due to covid). Saw other customers there too but everyone was separated from each other. (Again because of covid) The receptionist was really polite and attentive when we walked in. Nice way to start off the visit. We love Citrus Nail Spa on Nasa 1 in Nassau Bay but wanted to try another branch and decided to go to the one near La Madeleine and LA Crawfish on Bay Area Blvd West. It was my 16 yo daughter's birthday, she wanted very basic white acrylics nails instead of her usual decorative acrylics fanfare, so we thought this should be a piece of cake for everyone. When I told the guy it was my girl's BD to make it nice for her, he yawned and hmpfed, then cut me off in my sentence to ask me what I wanted to drink which felt like he was trying to shut me up. Then he rushed the process skipping the cleaning and primer part leaving grits and crud on my girl's simple white acrylics nails before applying polish on. My girl kept rubbing on her nails when they were done and I knew immediate she was uncomfortable with the bits and bumps still left sealed under her varnish but she wanted me to say nothing to the guy while the guy probably thought she didn't know any difference. He was also sighing loudly with a disinterested look the entire time he was rushing through my girl's nails while there was no customer in sight behind us nor was he in a rush to clock out. On my end, I got a basic pedicure while waiting for my girl's nails to be done which usually takes longer than my pedi. The lady who did my pedi immediately said things in Vietnamese to her co-worker next to her multiple times in response to my replies to her questions. When my girl showed up next to me after her nails were done, this lady made another round of comments in Vietnamese to the same co-worker after sizing and judging my girl over. When I jokingly said to my girl "uh-oh she is talking about you", the lady stopped immediately even though I had no clue what she was saying but her reactions just told me she was making comments about us. As I am usually a friendly and rather ok person, we continued to make polite small talks until the lady completed my pedi. Again, the process was rushed, she did not file my toe nails down to a reasonable smooth edge, there were nicks and jagged edges and cuticles hanging even my far sighted eyes could see. And she immediately put on their disposable slippers on my feet and ushered me to the counter to pay and leave while the nails were just done and still wet. No UV light or wait time given. Needless to say I smudged my wet nails dragging my feet with those fake slippers out the shop, down the walkway and up into my car to drive away. While these are not life ending horrible experiences, they are not reasonable as well because we did not get the service we were promised and are typically and customarily expected and paid for. I most definitely will not go back to that branch and would like them to re-do and clean up the bits on my girl's nails at the very least. read more
