Absolutely terrible experience. I spent almost an hour scheduling my appointments and was even asked for my weight, yet they still scheduled my MRI on a machine I didn't fit in. I had to reschedule for the Palm Harbor location a week later. When I arrived, the front desk insisted I had the wrong date and time--until I showed them their own confirmation text and they suddenly realized they had double-booked the machine. No apology. After the test they said the CD with my images would take 3-5 minutes. I waited over 15 minutes only to be told the employee went to lunch and probably forgot. Three days later my sister tried to pick it up (her name was already left there) and the staff refused to listen--even though the CD was literally sitting at the desk with her name on it. Completely disorganized and terrible customer service. I can only hope the technicians performing the scans are more competent than the front desk staff. The irony is that they have a memo on the front desk window reminding patients to be respectful because it's a healthcare facility--maybe the staff should read it too. read more

This place is okay to get the tests done but almost impossible to get your results. They have put me through great stress with poor Dr readings and the wait times to get results is awful. Don't go there ! read more

The receptionist was friendly. The office is big. It needs to be updated. It's very old and musty. The place needs a deep cleaning. The MRI tech was super sweet and explained everything in depth and asked a lot of questions. She was awesome. read more

I had no idea they were an MRI place. For some reason I always thought they were a toutoring kind of thing. but they are indeed an MRI kind of thing. I paid out of pocket because i didnt want to go through my insurance as i didn't have time for the paperwork. They were able to accomodate me and took my appoiintment quickly and efficiently. Needed 2 CT Scans w/o Contrast of Lumbar and Saccrum and X-rays of Hands, Wrists and Knees. Nothing to complicated and should be a call that would approximately 20-25 minutes at the most! Being 66 years old I've had a lot of practice making my own appointments and have spoken to "a lot" of different agents in various parts of the world. Everyone once in a while you'll get an agent that just doesn't know they're a$$ from a whole in the ground. Well that the experience I had with an agent by the name of Renee who works for Akumin Imaging. I often ask myself, why do companies, or Supervisors, or managers (whatever you want to call them) allow employees to take calls when they have absolutely no clue what she was doing?!?! Granted, it's not all her fault as that company didn't allow enough time for training and reviewing. Now because they didn't appropriately train her and allow her time on her own to digest her new job and all the many new things she had to learn, her call with me was disastrous and left me so frustrated! I plan to tell everyone I come in contact with, my Yelp family, and Management at Akumin Imaging just what an awful experience I had! To some up this call (and note, I AM a very patient person) and have had 38 years of call center experience so believe me when I say I do have some knowledge of how and how not to control the call and provide excellent customer service. So back to this call and agent. The call was exactly 59 minutes, was asked to hold at least 12-15 times. On hold request number 16, I finally said nope, I'm sorry but I'm not going to hold and I am going to end this call. 59 minutes I'll never get back. 59 minutes of wasted time and didn't even set up at least 1 of the 8 different images (CT's and X-rays) and of course they lost out on my business, any future transactions, and everyone I'm going to tell. Bye Bye Akumin. DO NOT USE THERE SERVICES especially after reading the Yelp reviews in the Palm Harbor, FL office. I should have done that first! I would have never called them and lastly, thank you YELP for your professional web site and this channel to communicate this very important information! read more

The executive side of this outfit is just as bad as the walk in imaging facility. Actually worse. They never bothered to follow up with me after I took the time to write a letter to the CEO in plantation Florida. Horrible. read more

While sitting the the lobby waiting for my appointment when a tech came out and spoke to a patient in front of like 5 other patients about her medications. HIPPA totally violated there. Would not recommend. read more

I had a 6:30pm appointment on a Tuesday. I arrived at 6:15pm and there were no cars in the parking lot or could I see any lights on in the building. I read the hours on the door which read 8:00am to 5pm. I looked around and saw nothing. I drove all the way home. When I got in the door, my phone rang and it was a tech who said they were there and they have been waiting. The tech said I could reschedule. What she should have said is we are here would you like to come back. Who owns this company? Do they know what's going on? read more

Couldn't find the vein of my wife for a CT Scan. Few days later at Colonoscopy another place they find her vein in seconds. They also let her drink something before that was full of sugar. In another location they don't load you with sugar. read more

I called for an appointment for a Breast MRI. The earliest was at Palm Harbor although my preferred location was Clearwater. I unfortunately scheduled for Palm Harbor. This was a mistake from the start. The receptionist displayed a nasty attitude which worsened as I tried to register for my appointment. Nothing I had was right. My order was out-of-date - used to be good for a year, now only good for 6 months. My latest MRI was in film form from Mexico - that was a problem since they only read disks. I couldn't find my written report on the MRI. I had had a Breast MRI at Akumin the year before - she said that wasn't recent enough. She said I needed a mammogram. I told her I don't get mammograms (the radiation is known to cause cancer in some patients). Instead I get MRIs. She proceeded to contact my doctor to update the order and (I thought) for my Mexican MRI report. I sat in the waiting room for 10 mins before I asked for an update. "What update?" she says. I walked to the desk and told her we're having a problem with communication. "No, we're not," she says, "I told you we don't read films. I thought you were waiting to have a mammogram." I left with no MRI being done. Thank you so much, Akumin, for a terrible, time-consuming trip and wasted effort to simply take care of my health on my doctor's orders. I used Akumin for my 2021 MRI because they didn't require a mammogram. Now it seems they do although, in making the appointment, I wasn't told that. I don't appreciate being forced into a mammogram in order to have an MRI which is why I used Akumin in the first place. I won't go there again and I wouldn't send anyone else there either. read more

Personnel at this facility are disengaged in the patients! Will go back to the Boot Ranch location in the future!! Some day young people will be the elderly and feel what it's like to be treated like an inconvenience! read more

Beware! I should have checked the reviews of this business before I made an appointment. Although I have a zero co-pay with this "preferred provider", at the check in process they required a credit card to hold as they process the insurance. They ended up billing me and the insurance company. A month later their accounting office told us we were set up to be refunded when insurance cleared. Here we are months later and no refund and no return calls. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. read more

My name is Sherry Cacavas and I have had a horrific experience with Akumin. I had a mammogram from Advent Health which came back abnormal. They sent my information to Akumin and I received an appointment for a diagnostic follow-up for an ultrasound and mammogram on my left breast. When I went to my appointment, they couldn't find my records from Advent Health. Akumin rescheduled my appointment for 3 weeks out. I reached back out to see if Advent Health had sent my records to Akumin and they assured me they had sent them to Akumin two weeks prior to my appointment with Akumin. Since then, I have reached out to Akumin 3 different times to see if they have my information every time, they say they will check and give me a callback. They have yet to verify if they have my information to perform the ultrasound and mammogram on the next scheduled appointment. This is very upsetting to me because earlier in the year I had kidney cancer and had to have my kidney removed. This has caused me extra stress and anxiety. Someone, please help me! read more
