I am beyond frustrated and honestly alarmed by the level of negligence at Akumin in Pembroke Pines. Last Tuesday, I brought my daughter in for an MRI after she suffered a tibial plateau fracture in her right knee a serious injury that requires prompt evaluation. We made it absolutely clear that this was urgent. By Friday morning, we followed up again and stressed that we needed the report immediately to proceed with a critical orthopedic appointment. We were told the request had been submitted and that it would be handled. That turned out to be empty reassurance. As of now, there is still no report. No urgency, no communication, no accountability. Meanwhile, my daughter is in pain, and we are left worrying about improper healing and long-term damage because of this delay. This is not just "bad service." When a diagnostic center delays results in an urgent case like this, they are actively putting patients at risk. In this case, a child. What makes it worse is the complete lack of follow-through. Once payment is taken, it feels like the responsibility ends there. No one takes ownership, and no one seems to care about the consequences. If your situation is even slightly urgent, do not rely on this place. You may end up paying the price in ways that actually matter your health. read more

Horrible experience, do not go here! I waited weeks for an appointment, received a confirmation text, completed all requested paperwork, and took time off work only to arrive and be told my appointment had been canceled. No one notified me beforehand. As a single mom, I arranged childcare, drove a significant distance, and lost income from missing work, all for nothing. I was told the appointment was canceled because they did not have my doctor's clinical notes, but my doctor's office confirmed they had already sent them. I was also told they had called me to notify me, which was not true and could not be verified in my phone records. What made the situation worse was the lack of empathy and professionalism from the front desk staff. The people making the appointments for all the Akumin facilities leave a lot to be desires. One guy i spoke with was rushing me off the phone. I wasn't even being annoying lol The receptionist didn't have any information regarding me logging in to get my results. All she knew is they are not on My Chart. I looked on their website and I think I figured it out. It just felt awkward. Finally, I was called in. Shakira performed my xrays and she is a sweetheart. She is who brought up their score. Shakira is so professional and kind. She made sure I was comfortable. Hopefully they can find my staff members with Shakira's positive attitude and ideal training. read more

Updating my old review but the stars are the same! I had to get an x-ray done and I was trying to find a spot to do it. Akumin is a reliable spot within the Pembroke Pines area for all x-rays and diagnostic imaging. Since my last visit 2 years ago, this spot is still at the top with customer service. As soon as you walk in, the staff lets you know to sign in and wait to be called. The waiting area has a good amount of seating and I think they make the right amount of appointments so nobody is left standing while waiting. Once I was called, they got all my paperwork sorted and the staff member that was helping me was super friendly and prompt with helping me get all my information sorted. When that was done, I waited for less than five minutes before I was called. The x-ray took five minutes tops and I was out of there! Continuous great experiences at this Akumin! read more

First of all, this review I'm writing is how my husband was treated. He was given a script by his physician to schedule his exam at his leisure because he travels allot. They literally wouldn't stop calling him & me to schedule, as I come to realize all they see is $$$. So on the day of his exam we arrived early to fill out paperwork and the first thing out of Antonio's mouth was "you owe"... I knew there would be a co-pay but there is no professionalism from the moment you walk in at this place. After we took care of that, he didn't have a long wait but when his name was called he was met with the rudest tech, Jorge R. He yelled at us as if we were begging for something for free. No bedside manner stating that he didn't care he was just there to scan my husband and to get him out the door. Literally screaming like a spoiled child and he's a big guy, quite intimidating too. This review is for the Akumin in East Pembroke Pines. Seems like some of the low rated reviews are for the Pembroke Pines office out West. I got there an hour before my appt time which they asked me to do because I had to prep for a CT scan. I was called and registered within 10 minutes of being there. I had to wait for 45 mins before getting the test and exactly 45 minutes later I was called to the back for the test. Joe was the technician who performed the test and I couldn't have asked for a better tech to have done it. He was so personable and totally put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. The girls who worked in registration were all super friendly and helpful. This was such a positive experience, please don't be turned off by some of the other and older reviews. read more

Im claustrophobic & did not want to complete my ct scan, Olivia took the time to calm me down and Emanuel the technician was extremely tolerant & talked me through the procedure, it was because of the two, I was able to complete the test. they are very exceptional members of the team. read more

On March 24, 2026 around 12:30 PM or so I was seen by your staff for radiology, I should start off saying the entire staff were rude not just to me but everyone else that came after, when I say ENTIRE STAFF not one member was polite or stood out to assist, they were rude and not willing to help anyone, especially the Spanish speaking elders , they were treated badly and disrespectful. That's the perfect meaning of patient discrimination, when you had Spanish speaking employees present. The reason for my visit was for a simple chest x-ray. My other concern/complain was that I provided the clerk at window NUMBER-4 both two forms of insurance, primary and secondary and when I went to ask that if she was able to process both forms of insurance methods she stated that if she didn't have processed both she would have informed me, it was said very rudely with an attitude to find out at the end I had to pay the entire amount even if I had two forms of insurance, the money is not the issue because I can submit a claim its just that employee are not paying attention to what there doing. If the employees do not like what they do they should seek employment elsewhere. The employees tend to forget what type of customer service they should provide especially to patients, I have been treated at that location previously and it was not the same, I will not ever visit your location again and I will make sure the word gets out! read more

Went to Akumin this week for a MRI scan. I called last week and tried to make an appointment for ASAP and the man on the reservation line was so kind to help me search for all locations (they have a lot) for the earliest availability. Pembroke Pines location was the winner which is great because it is super close to me, located by the shops off of Pines Blvd. When I went in this morning at 7am the woman at the desk was so unwelcoming and honestly a bit rude. Check in was fast but she was dryly sarcastic. She put two papers on the desk and told me to fill them out. There was no clipboard so I asked her where I should fill them out and she said , sit down, right here , that's why I put the papers infront of the chair. The whole encounter was a bit weird and I didn't appreciate her attitude especially before a nervous MRI. The MRI tech was so awesome and compassionate. She knew I was nervous and explained everything to me. Unfortunately for me the ear muffs they gave me with music had a radio station with literally 10 minutes of commercials. No their fault but just a suggestion - subscribe to pandora or spotify premium :-) read more

This location is the worst!! I've taken people here and it's always worst attitude from the time you step in. I signed-in for a neighbor and I put why she was there a CT that's the reason why she wasn't called they showed me the sign in sheet I asked what did I do? She answered loud with this tone in her voice SOMETHING YOU SHOULD'NT. Nasty #4 lady!!! Never will be going to that place. More definitely needed. The appointment process was easy. The lobby was overcrowded ..... not enough seating. After a certain number of days I checked the patient portal for my report. It wasn't available and the message said to go to the facility for the report. I went to the facility .... no seating again. I was given an incomplete report. One of my cat scans was never even read by the radiologist. The lady at the desk said that she would message him to read it. Once again, it wasn't available on the portal so I went back .... no seating again! The lady at the desk said he read it but didn't sign it and that she would message him to sign it. I have no confidence in the reports that were finally released by 2 different radiologists ..... both reports contained sloppy work. I've been coming to this facility for 8 years but I'll be telling my doctor to send me somewhere else for my oncology cat scans next year read more

What a terrible experience. The girl that I called to schedule the appointment was very nice. But once I got there with my mom the entire staff with the exception of the girl who did the MRI were rude , inefficient and very unprofessional. I will not be returning. Our appointment was for 11:30 but she was not even taken back until 1230.i asked if they could check to see how much longer it would be before my mom would have her MRI. B were rude and replied yes I can and continued to sit in her chair. My elderly mom had an appointment, I dropped her off while I parked the car, the staff told her to sit down and never told her to sign in, when I got there I asked and they told me to sign in for her which I did, after waiting for 20 min they took someone else that just walked in, so I approach them and they asked me if I had signed in, I replied, yes, like you told me. They gave me some paperwork to fill out and I had to wait another 15 min, until they called my mom. Appointment was at 3:30pm we were on time, she was finally called in at 4:05pm. Very disappointed, lack of organization, lots of people waiting but most windows with employees just sitting down in front of the computers and others walking around. This is the most unprofessional and unpleasant medical office I have ever dealt with my whole life. 1. They sat on my Doctor's order to schedule my MRI, I actually had to call them 8 days later and the guy I spoke to told they were just in the process of calling. 2. Once my procedure was declined by my insurance carrier because Akumin didn't provide them a copy of my X-ray , which happened on June 28th. I didn't hear back from Akumin until July 7th at 5:28 pm when my procedure was scheduled for the next day at 9:00 am. 3. I received a call from the regional manager "Reuben" and scheduled me for this morning at 9:00, I took a half-day off from work but once I got here I was told my application wqs scheduled for 8:30 pm. So I left mad and pissed off , called Reuben and he told me he just spoke to the location manager "Lynette" and to go back. Once I got here Lynette informed me the best she can do is 11:30 and Reuben never called her he only send a text which she never replied to. If you or your Doctor's office have a choice ask for any other company to perform your X-ray, CT scan etc... read more

Terrible customer service. You can not get in contact with anyone before your appointment to get a cost estimate of the MRI. It's unfortunate that medical groups like this are allowed to exist. Medical is the only area where they give you a service before a price. When I brought up the fact that as a customer it's frustrating to not be told ahead of time what my bill is estimated to be, the lady made excuses saying it's impossible to give customers this information. Worst experience ever. No service provided. Original appointment was canceled one day prior because their MRI machine broke. The first available they had to reschedule was a WEEK later. I took the week 530 appointment offered. For the past two days the automated machine called to remind me the appointment was 545pm. It was terrible rain and flood warning in effect and traffic was terrible. Arrived at 538 to an empty waiting room in the pouring rain. For both the receptionist and the other worker to not offer a greeting just "what's your name" and next was "oh you were suppose to be here at 5pm, you got to reschedule" excuse me? There's no one other customers! it's got office hours until 9pm, it is pouring and for two days the automated calls said 545." Nope they would not bother helping. I called back that automated number for the person to tell me your appointment was 515? Never was 515 told to me by the automated machine or the person who rescheduled me. My child is still in pain without this mri. For the amount of money they are charging you think the customer would take priority! NEVER will I use AKUMIN again. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. If I had read the reviews before making the appointment I would have not gone. The receptionist was eating breakfast on the front desk. I guess I disturbed her breakfast, she was annoyed I was there. After being berated I left. Being a patient and in discomfort they need to be more understanding. On a bright note. Well I can start by saying the place is clean. When I made the appointment they told me to get there one hour early which I did. I don't understand why they didn't send the paperwork via email instead of doing it in person. When you get there you sign in and wait to get the paperwork.. then they call you over for payment and give you the contrast and tell you to drink it in 15 minutes... what she failed to say is you have to wait an hour from the time you finished drinking it. First time customer. The temperature was comfortable and facility seemed clean. But I was not impressed with the staff. I believe that a place people do business with should make them feel welcome and get to know you on a name basis otherwise it's impersonal and why would your customers want to come back if they don't feel valued? The intake in the front desk would get two and a half Stars to be fair. The mammogram technician was not a pleasant experience. And not because of the procedure which has an inherent level of discomfort depending on who is doing the procedure. Again, a practitioner who is going to get personal and touch you should introduce themselves and treat you with dignity and respect especially for procedures that expose patients. I particularly did not like or understand why the technician asked me to open my gown while I was just standing in the room and she was behind the equipment. So I didn't. There seem to be no purpose to taking off my top until she was ready to do the procedure next to me and the equipment. And apparently I was right but for some reason she asked me twice to open the front of my gown while I was waiting for her to finish behind the equipment. Awkward and uncomfortable. So I didn't do it. I waited for her to come over to me begin the procedure so that I could be exposed as short a time as possible always being aware of my own comfort and vulnerability. Overall I would recommend Poms Imaging over this establishment. And hope to not have to come back here. The procedure was also more painful than it was over at Palms and I don't see why that's necessary. I think it's all a matter of technique. My technician whatever her name was also left the marker Band-Aids over my nipples. Not sure if that's standard procedure but it seemed like it should have come with some Direction as to when to remove them. If I was to dispense one piece of advice it would be treat every customer, patient, woman , man, Child who comes in there with the utmost courtesy, professionalism and with dignity. read more

I was very impressed with the service at Pembroke Pines Akumin Center the Desk Assistant Mrs.Annie was fast and very helpful , most impressed is that she did the extra mile at every patient she saw, she clean with disinfecting wipes the area and the chair. She show me a caring for the well-being of others. I thank her for the extra mile. Not only that I had a mammogram and Mrs. Azam Make the experience easy. Every year as a woman we are subjected to do this kind of exams and is not comfort. For the first time in a long period of years I didn't felt any pain or discomfort. I went in for an X-ray appointment that was set at 2:50 PM. I arrived at 2:42 PM and was on the X-ray table at 3:03 PM. Service time was quick, X-ray took 25 minutes. The tech kept me informed of everything going on during the X-ray, and the staff were clear and precise about documentation. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because there were only 2 hand sanitizer stations during COVID 19 pandemic. Was scared to come in after reading the bad reviews, but the staff made everything clear and fast. read more

What a horrible organization. I have a PPO for insurance and Akumin screwed up and contacted my doctor for a referral which is not required. I then got a call the day before the procedure and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told they would have to call me back - never got a call. I then called the day of my procedure (today) and was told it had not been approved. I asked again to speak with a supervisor and was told one was not available. I asked to leave a message or to give me a number to call about my concerns. That was when Donald hung up on me. If you are looking for good customer service, go somewhere else. I have had many procedures done with them using the same insurance and never had a problem. read more

Went to Akumin in Pines to have 2 ultrasounds, a mammogram, & CT of heart that was scheduled 2 weeks prior, only to be told that I could pay $99 cash fee for the CT since the prior authorization from my insurance was still pending. I told them my insurance covers 100% of imaging and they should go through my insurance and bill me if not covered. They said they couldn't do that and I would have to reschedule the CT. I decided to go through with the US & mammo since it was authorized, but was then told I needed to pay my 20% fee up front. Again I told them that it was 100% covered and even sent a message to my insurance to confirm. I refused to pay up front and did have the scans done, but I am very upset that it feels like they try to scam their patients out of money they should not be getting. Please know you benefits if you decide to go there. I'm glad I did or I would be out over $200 that I would have to try to get refunded. Went in for an ultrasound. Tech finished in a reasonable amount of time. However she draped my gown on her chair before I wore it. Unsanitary. The second thing I noticed is the exam room is half the size of a bedroom The end of the exam table almost touches an overfilled trash can. Instead of stirrups this place has wedge pillows you have to sit your bottom on in order to get a trans vaginal. Is this doable? Yes but come on. I watched closely as this tech touched the gel tube to the probe..another no no. As a tech myself I know better hygiene than this place. Other indications that they don't invest in this place are the many reviews which state the machines constantly break down. They have a bottom of the barrel Philips ultrasound machine. Does it do the job? Yes but it's not the best quality and when you get an exam you want great image quality. At the end she says there's a pack of wipes I can use to wipe off...sure a bag of opened and used wipes that everyone has touched. Sure I'll wipe my vagina with THAT. Go somewhere else or you'll end up catching something. read more
