I will copy the review I wrote about ABC, which lead me to hiring Hero Air in the first place to give you the full picture: Update: ABC did show up at 8pm the following night and proceeded to quote me $1,363 to replace some components and $475 to deep clean the condenser coil. I was paying for their VIP service and that is the quote I got. I said no way since I trust them zero. Got Hero Air, who get amazing reviews on Yelp to come out and were there within 2 hours. Turns out I needed a new thermostat, which all in for diagnosing, running out to get the thermostat, and installing for $407. He also recommended a deep cleaning and charged me $150, so for $557 instead of $1,833 which wouldn't have even fixed the problem I am up and running 4 hours after requesting an appointment. So when I said above they hope idiots will let them get away with charging triple, I was not exaggerating. ABC deserves to go out of business. It seems like with their AI reservation system and "fluid" scheduling they probably go bought out by private equity and it seems like they are running themselves into the ground. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING!

But when they came, the technician claimed it would be another $180 to clean the unit and that we needed to clean the unit before he could finish the inspection, which is totally a scam as we have used another company who did all of it for one flat $99 fee but wasn't available since we are selling our home and wanted to get it done sooner than later. And then he tried to upsell again by saying our Freon was low. But we declined since we had to pay $80 just for him to visually inspect our unit without being able to complete the inspection. So now we have to do the entire thing again with another hvac servicer, one that is actually honest and not upsell a routine maintenance into an almost $300 charge! We even spoke with the owner/manager who said nothing could be done. So they won't even work with you, and you have to pay $80 just to get them to leave without really doing anything of any value. So save yourself the money and the headache and look elsewhere! In response to the business manager: I gave AI screen shots of our interactions and people can read their take on our situation. The fact that you deleted the part where I took a screen shot of you telling us to go ahead and allow the technician to do the work and that we would discuss price later is proof of your dishonesty (see photos). I never said it was for 3 furnaces. I said that we had 3 hvac units and one furnace was being repaired for a minor gas leak, which was fixed. And that we don't have a/c bc we need a functioning furnace. And who services furnaces in the summer? And the fact remains that we were told one price, and that you guys could not complete the maintenance per that quoted price. If that was the case, he should have left and not charge us anything. Instead we had to pay $80 for nothing essentially since the maintenance could not be completed. It also doesn't change the fact that you guys charge an egregious fee for cleaning, which is why we declined the service. He said he had to open up the unit and even maybe clean it with chemicals. This is absolutely unheard of. Our normal HVAC service providers are honest people and have been maintaining our units for many years and they have never told us we had to open up our unit to clean it (which is risky for routine maintenance). You guys have proven that you do not behave honestly, and instead, are a lower/reasonable cost on the phone and up charge for unnecessary work when on site when most people feel they are already stuck with you. Who in their right mind would agree to have someone do the work and then decide on the cost (as you admitted to below)? That is just another way to get us stuck with the work with no idea of what the total actual cost would be. No professional contractor operates like that, and no one should agree to work before knowing the cost. And we are not the only customers who felt scammed and over priced if you read other unhappy customers. I should have read the reviews more closely as you also service appliances which skews your reviews for smaller less complex jobs, making it harder to ascertain your credibility and affordability for just HVAC. But my review stands as is, and nothing is being misrepresented. Maybe this review will help you take another look at your business practices, and if you cannot complete the job you were sent for, you shouldn't charge for it. You should also do a better job getting clarification on the work. I assumed you knew it was for a/c annual maintenance. The fact that we had our furnace repaired shouldn't impact that and you guys should know better than that. Otherwise, how can you call yourself an hvac service provider if you don't even know that you need to service air conditioners in the summer and furnaces for the winter? So your excuse about the wrong work being performed is entirely on you as the service provider, not on me and not on my husband. And I never said I wanted 3 furnaces to be maintained so go back and listen to the call as that was never said. And my husband never agreed about the wrong work being scheduled, further reducing your credibility. They can quote whatever they like, but it doesn't excuse that they pressured us to do work before even telling us the price (see photo), they are over priced, incompetent if they think they need to open up an a/c unit to clean it (which is risky) plus no one maintains their furnaces in the summer. Given that we had to repair a gas leak in our furnace, I just wanted to see if it was working okay because the a/c won't work if the furnace won't work. So there are no inaccuracies in my review, but there are glaring issues with this company and how they operate. People can read all of this should they choose to and make up their own minds. IMHO this business is someone you want to avoid.

They reviewed the scope of work to demo and install this second floor attic project There was a lot of work to do and the install took the entire day. Julio and Gio stayed until everything was perfect. I have a Trane S9V2 60,000 BTU High Efficiency Furnace that replaced an oversized BTU furnace that would overheat in the winter and stop working. The Air Conditioner was replaced by the Bosch Inverter Ducted Split 2.0 Heat Pump. Both are high efficiency technology meant to save energy costs and perform quieter, faster, smarter. The employee tried to resolve the issue, but the owner did not care. We asked for insurance and he would not give it. We contacted the BBB to help with the issue and Ugly Ductling did not respond to them. In order for the place to be in living condition again we had to hire a professional cleaning service. That cost an additional 5k. This company does not care about customers at all. It's a quick in and out job to them. I highly recommend never using them.

They actually saved me from a potential fire because my dryer wasn't not hooked and there was paper near the igniter! They cleaned all of my vents as well as my dryer in under 30 minutes. It was filthy because I haven't had it cleaned in a while. Although I wish I would have asked to see the dust in the machine just to measure how much dust had accumulated over 3 years. I feel good that I am breathing cleaner air and do not notice dust everywhere like before. I do think the pricing of the duct cleaning is a bit expensive for an apartment unit and the amount of time it took to clear out dust. However, I thought they did a stellar job and would schedule with them again.

TLDR: Scott, Eamon and Annette were all perfectly friendly and professional. Based on thoroughness and integrity, I recommend Al Air to anyone in Al Air's service area. We're new homeowners and during routine maintenance we were pressured to buy a new furnace or face CO poisoning. We had three different companies out in the past week for quotes and Al Air was the only company that took the time to explain how our furnace actually works and about our current warranties. Al Air was only company to tell us that *if* our heat exchanger was cracked, that does not mean we need a whole new furnace. Al Air was the only company to tell us *if* our heat exchanger was cracked, that part is still under warranty for another ~10 years. Al air was the only company to tell us our heat exchanger is actually not cracked, not leaking CO, and no further work is currently necessary. The technician Aemon explained each part of the inspection while he was performing the service; he even changed my air filter without asking or charging extra. Their prices are fair and their work is honest. Thank you Al Air for taking my call, adding us to schedule in a timely manner, and treating our home as if it was yours. Here is my situation with the company Al Aer Inc. About 1 year ago I had a problem with the heat. I called my manager and I sent Al to fix the heating problem. He came and promised us the heat was going to work, but the next day the heat was not working and we had to wait for another week for him to get back into my apartment. He was angry and had a temper because the heat was still broken. After promising us the heat was going to be repaired, he kept coming back and forth but nothing was fixed. But after 1-2 days we had the some problems, so he got back for the 3rd time and after 3rd time he changed the thermostat after we was freezing with a lot of cold in our apartment. So now here the surprise comes. He bill the company 3 time of a total of $397 which basically he fixed this problem the 3rd time he come to our apartment. I called his office numerous times try to spoke with all. After 1 week he called me very disrespectful and hung up on me. So I will not recommend this guy he is not professional and he got a atitudinea problem.i regret I called him and try to work out with him but I waste my time and energy. read more

I had my broken central air conditioning and furnace and humidifier replaced by Al Air this week. Larry and Mike at Al Air worked extremely hard and were the most professional honest technicians from beginning to clean-up. Their work was EXCELLENT - they are totally knowledgeable professional men. They answered every question, worked diligently, professionally and explained the operation of the new systems. I own a older building and every now and then I need repair and maintenance on my heaters. Every time I have Al air they are very responsive they come when they tell you they're going to call them and they're very upfront about what the problem is and what the cost would be. I actually had the owner come out for one job and he was very professional and didn't even charge me because the job was so simple. Days later I found out my neighbors also use them and she said she's been using them for years. So this company has a very good reputation on the northwest side and I would highly recommend them for any job associated with heaters. read more

I can't recommend Al Air highly enough. They replaced my condo closet HVAC Unit when the A/C failed in 2018 or so. It required coordination with masonry work, due to the size of the only available replacement Unit was a different size from the original unit which was discontinued. Al himself did the customized work to hook my Humidifier up to it. It had been incorrectly installed by another company to my previous unit, and had been basically non-functional. read more

The person I spoke to from King was rude as they continued to interrupt me and it felt like they were trying to get me off the phone. They also said that service in the past doesn't ensure service in the future and that they wouldn't be able to guarantee anyone could come look at the system for at least another 3 days and even then we would be charged the "emergency" rate. Fast service is one of their main claims on their website, as well as reliability. King installed this unit less than a year ago and it's already not working. So that's not what I would call reliable. I ended up not going King and called another HVAC company. They had someone out here in 2 hours and didn't charge an "emergency" fee.

Great job at keeping your word, fellows. Class act family run business. They knocked some money off but the unit is still not working properly. Tons of service calls and still not working. My Guy not only sought out a cheaper option for the part, they were able to come out the next day to repair the part, which is great since we're in the middle of a brutal cold streak. Jose and Damian came the next day to do the repair and tune-up and were again prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. Highly recommend My Guy HVAC!

After six months of use they came back and didn't argue about having to do the alteration, Even though it took a couple of days to fix it and correct it. Thats the kind of service that should be applauded. They also did a great job on some repairs on my steam Boiler. An Old technology project and new one. Also their prices are very competitive and Kellie is great with customer service. She helped with some federal rebates for energy efficient upgrades.
