They gave me several options at various price points, with no pressure or hard upsells. The install was scheduled for 8am, and they showed up precisely at 8, ready to rock. Last month, I scheduled a clean & check to make sure things were still good. The tech was ahead of schedule and called to see if it was okay to show up early. (Sure!) He found a small part that he thought should be replaced, which was promptly ordered and installed free of charge, covered by warranty. Their Boiler tech Jason is super professional and I value that from my handyman days in meatpacking when I worked with lots of hvac and refrigeration folks, good techs make the magic happen. I had them install a new York Furnace, Condenser, and Coil. They did a fantastic job! I was pleasantly surprised a system humidifier/dehumidifier was also installed as I had overlooked it. I can pass on my portable room unit. They uninstalled the old rusting equipment from the 80s, which created a huge mess through the basement, stairs, and garage, which they cleaned up and left spotless! They were very knowledgeable and professional, answering all my questions. When I went online to register my warranties, they had already done it for me! So I'll admit I'm a bit bias. Eddie is my son in law. But... ya wanna know how good he is? Here's a perfect story. Because of a conflict, Eddie wasn't able to make another long distance family related service call. Previously, he's driven downstate to my son's house to replace his furnace when my son was laid up with a serious health issue. He's driven to my father's house (90 yrs old) in the Milwaukee area, on a moments notice, to fix his broken HVAC system in the dead of winter. This weekend, he sent his wife (my daughter) to our summer cottage with some tools and a box of parts to fix our old furnace. He walked her through everything over FaceTime and she pulled apart and reassembled the fan and cleared a jam. She found that a bat was stuck in the fan keeping it from turning. While I'm proud of my Daughter, who has limited experience with tools and repairs, it shows that Eddie is a true HVAC expert. He doesn't only threat family this way. Called and talked to Ed. I asked for an estimate for a new furnace and he gave me a quote over the phone. I asked to come a take a look and he did. While discussing our options I asked for an estimate for the whole system as well. Ed gave me a few options and I went ahead with the whole system (furnace, A/C compressor and coil) by York. They included humidifier as well. The cost was lower then other bids I got for the same level of equipment. Plus they included 10 years labor warranty. We scheduled installation in two days. Dylan and his crew came in the morning. I'm a repeat customer in that I've had my water heater both replaced and serviced by them and also had my furnace issues properly diagnosed and repaired by their skilled hands. Their prices were fair and their dedication is top notch. My most recent experience had them come the morning after I called (at 8PM mind you) to ask about issues with my water heater. They tried to diagnose it over the phone, and when it didn't work, fit me into their schedule to come by and check out the issue in person. I noticed it was getting cold in the house so I looked at the thermostat and it read 64 degrees. Our set down temp for nighttime is 65 so I knew something was wrong. Figured out the furnace was going on but not kicking into the blower so no heat was coming out. I called GMS because they did an excellent job on our replacement of plenum a few months prior. I called and Ed answered right away and within 20 minutes Glen was ringing our doorbell. Glen figured out that the Heating & Cooling Company ( I won't mention the company) that had installed our furnace 14 years prior, did not switch the water pump to the correct one when this furnace was installed for a down flow unit!! Glen released the wrong pump and had 1/2 a spaghetti pot of water drain out. Glen then connected the correct pump for water to be released from the unit and the furnace started working!! Glen was finished working within 40 minutes. For coming out at 10:00 pm , their price GMS charges for a call that late was unbelievably cheap!! I WILL ALWAYS USE GMS HEATING & COOLING FROM NOW ON. I will be calling GMS tomorrow to set up my spring maintenance for the AC unit. These guys are amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and so reasonably priced.
