It took multiple "tinkerings" to resolve the problem. What I really appreciated was that as soon as I called, Marvin adjusted his next day's schedule and came out to my home and worked several hours, not leaving until he had thoroughly tested and verified that the problem was resolved. We purchased an entirely new hvac system from them on a recommendation from my parents who had a great experience. The ac has not worked properly since the day we got it. Way worse than the unit from 1999 we replaced. After tons of back and forth calls and texts between us and multiple achedulers, service managers, the sales guy, etc., we thought we were getting somewhere when we were told that it would be replaced, as it states they would on their website, but then we started getting the run around again. Great job at keeping your word, fellows. Class act family run business. They knocked some money off but the unit is still not working properly. Tons of service calls and still not working. Their own service guys are even telling us we should have it replaced as they don't know how to fix it. Maybe I'll change this review if Robbie himself gets a hold of me and replaces this piece of garbage, as I'm getting nowhere with the people I have spoken with about 100 times. I've also sent an email to an address I found through a google search. If i dont hear back within a day or so, My next step is filing a formal complaint with the BBB. read more

I've had repeated issues with my new Bryant air conditioner (3 years in a row, the coolant had a leak and had to be replenished) and now my new Bryant furnace has stopped working a week after "annual maintenance" to keep it under warranty (the furnace was working fine before this.) Customer service is always very professional but continuous problems with the a/c and now furnace leaves me feeling cold and I cannot recommend. read more

I hired All Temp to inspect the furnace in my condo. The young technician, Noe, arrived on time. He made a very good first impression. Before entering, he put on booties over his shoes do he didn't track in dirt, even though the weather was dry that day. He performed a thorough inspection , explained everything he was doing, and answered my questions. When he changed the filter, the cover was difficult to put back on (this was a problem long before he was here). He took out tools and fixed it! All in all, I was very pleased with Noe's work. Update: After seeing my negative review, after All Temp chose to drop me as a client, they apologetically called me back asking what they could do to make it right. Among our options discussed were discounts, warranty extensions, and prompt installation. All they offered was an install date. Something they already failed to keep their word on multiple times. When it finally warmed up this year, I tried to turn on the AC--only to find our 17-year-old R22 unit was dead. Time for a replacement. After researching online and getting a recommendation from a friend, I reached out to three companies for quotes. I wanted a new system using the latest refrigerant (R-454B) and preferably a heat pump for better energy efficiency. One small independent company offered a low price, but I had concerns about warranty support. Another well-known company was professional but quoted a system over 35% more expensive than what I ended up paying--with nearly identical equipment. John at All Temp stood out from the start. He kept me informed throughout the process and gave honest updates, especially when equipment availability delayed things slightly. Importantly, All Temp didn't try to push inventory they had on hand--instead, they sourced exactly what I needed. I ended up with a Bryant Evolution system and matching heat pump, and I couldn't be happier. The system is excellent, and All Temp also resolved some ductwork noise issues during installation. Recently I had a blower replaced for my AC/heating system. It is a little over a year old. Surprise to find out that the blower motor is still under warranty. I just have to pay for the labor. The whole process is pretty straightforward and transparent. The technician, Edwin, showed up on time and got the blower replaced in less than two hours. Edwin was courteous, and knowledgeable with the system, Very happy with the work. Glad to have the system fixed in time to enjoy for the summer. read more

A minor update: They called me a couple months ago saying I had an outstanding bill for the humidifier they never installed in the first place. I was flabbergasted and told them that the tech brought the wrong humidifier and I turned him away. I had All Temp out for a consultation last week to look at the possibility of purchasing a new AC unit and furnace and to say it was underwhelming and lacked professionalism would be an understatement! The Sales consultant was at my home for less than 30 minutes, only briefly looked at my system, and then said he would send a quote within 24hrs. When he arrived I noticed he only had a folder in his hands, nothing else. I assumed the folder had presentation materials but I could only assume because I never saw it. He did have a tape measure with him but he only pulled it out once or twice to haphazardly measure my system ( I silently laughed to myself when he tried to act like he was actually performing measurements). He then texted me the next day saying he spoke to his project manager about my setup (which is admittedly unique) and was ready to quote me. I asked how could his PM provide any guidance based off very limited to zero analysis of my home?? ( To compare, other companies that visited stayed for 60-90 minutes, had laser measures, performed load calculations, surveyed/analyzed my entire house, had an iPad to present options, reviewed possible savings opportunities, provided a detailed quote the same day, etc..) I told him to send the quote anyway but after several days, nothing. I then texted him for an update and he said he was still researching the proper coil sizes. I only asked him for an update to see what he would say and to give them one more chance to leave a better impression but after no contact and then a lazy response about "trying to find the right coil size" I told him to disregard. After reading my Yelp review, Mike Clark reached out to me and scheduled an inspection of my boiler and agreed that the original pump installed was defective. Mike then had a technician come out and install a new Heat Pump at no charge to me. He even sent another technician out to bleed the air out of my boiler system when I notified him that I heard air in the system. Everything seems fine now. All Temp is GREAT! I have been a happy customer of ALL TEMP for the past 10+ years. I spent several thousand of $'s over the years to update my HVAC equipment. I am so happy to have found A-T. To say that A-T employees are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, reliable isn't enough...They truly stand behind their commitment. I am not an expert on all things HVAC, and with A-T available to me, I don't need to be. But I am, however, a very conscientious consumer. Over the years I have had to replace my furnace and my AC unit outside, all done by ALL TEMP. Simply because they were outdated. I am very happy with my purchases. I am also fully aware that living in Chicagoland I have choices. My choice has been ALL TEMP for the past 10 plus years, continues to be ALL TEMP, and will remain ALL TEMP. Many of my friends feel the same. Whenever asked for an HVAC recommendation by friends, neighbors, or random individuals, I say this: sure, do your research and get quotes but let A-T be your primary focus. For not only will they set you up with what you need, they will do so very adequately, professionally, and on time when promised, they will also likely be the best price as well. And if they are not initially, they will definitely work with you on the price that meets your budget and makes you feel good about your HVAC investment. In Chicagoland one of the largest, if not the largest HVAC player, is a company that is advertised everywhere under the sun. What I really would like to say about them here would be likely blocked by all sorts of filters. It was not the best use of my time and you will likely feel the same. This company, though they may be professionals and though they may know what they're doing, they are all about profits, at any expense, while s***ng people dry, having done so for decades. Let me give you an example: a friend of mine a few years ago needed to have a new AC unit installed, which happened to be on top of his building on the 3rd floor. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a regular AC unit for a condo, with easy access to the roof. Something that could easily be handled by two technicians. He contacted that company, and was told the following: we need to hire an industrial crane in order to install your AC unit on top of your roof. We have no other way around it..... As if this was a building downtown that needed an AC unit the size of a truck. This is not a joke. This is what he was told by two people at said company. I think the quote was in the range of a small SUV. He thanked them for that and he went with ALL TEMP, which happily took that unit up on the roof (2 guys literally carried it up, without any injuries or complaints), and he never looked back, for a price that is essentially one sixths of what the other company quoted him. I feel bad for people who say the following when they call that other company or one like it: I will go with your recommendation for you are the professional in this, not me. To all of you who have any and all HVAC needs please give ALL TEMP a try for you will never look back. This superior customer service and commitment is practiced by ALL TEMP service technicians, installers, their Sales team, their telephone customer service, and that includes their owner(s) as well. Earlier today, a technician by the name of Randy, performed a winter check on my furace, and as expected, everything was great. Randy provided superior service and delivered that with kindness, professionalism, humor, and efficiency. I asked him two questions: "Do you like what you do." He immediately responded with "Very much. This is a career for me, not a gig, and I see myself doing this for a long time." Then I asked: "Do you like the company that you work for." His quick and decisive response was "Very much so. I am very happy being employed by ALL TEMP and so are my colleagues." No one wants to spend thousands of dollars on HVAC repairs or new equipment, but if you must, look no further than ALL TEMP for you will never be steered in the wrong direction. I have been a customer of All Temp for quite a few years now and have always had great service at what I feel is a fair price. I first started using them when my furnace died and I needed a replacement. I was under the assumption that when you replace the furnace you should always replace the compressor. All Temp refused to sell me and install a compressor. They tested the compressor, showed me the results and told me that I had years left on my old unit. They just as easily have sold me a new unit and made more money. Personally, I was impressed with the honesty of this contractor! Basically, they had my best interest at heart. Please read the whole review - I had these guys come and check my HVAC. The tech they sent was nice, but did not do a good job. I called and left message for the service manager, Dale Roberts. He called me back, I explained what had happened, he agreed it wasn't done right, and we worked out a refund. This is what a good company does. Sometimes work isn't done right, that's life, but if that happens, and the company makes it right, that's really respectable. I called to get a furnace checkup - checkup appeared to go well but when furnace started up a few days later the outdoor unit (condenser) started up - this only should have started if AC was needed. I then brought out All Temp again and they sold me a new thermostat - presumably to fix the issue with the condenser starting up. A few hours later, furnace had to be shut down because it would not shut off - temp in house was up to 78 degrees. Be careful with these folks - I still have a few days to deny all charges but watch out! read more

I called for emergency service because my hvac heating system did not work and the temperature dropped below 50 degree. I called emergency service, asked for the fees and agreed to it. I was told a tech would be dispatched. The tech gave me a heads up call that he's coming, because I was not around, I provided instruction to ring my neighbor doorbell so they can help the tech get into the unit. The tech agreed that is fine. Then I heard no update, luckily my neighbor kept me updated. They saw the van by the front of the building but didn't see anyone coming out of the van. So I called the tech and he was telling me he waited for 20 minutes and no one rang the bell with his high tone of voice as if it was my fault. When in fact, he didn't even step out of the van and he left after 5 minutes just idling in his van. How did I know that? It's captured by our building cameras. If they just be honest about it, and told me they could not fulfill the emergency request, I could have gone with someone else and avoided damages. Very unprofessional and dishonest. read more

Updating my review, as I think the response from Robbie M. is a little disingenuous. Mike Clark telephoned both my wife and then me on Thursday December 19th after reading my negative Yelp review. Mike asked if there was a way "he could make things right." I declined, saying that the company had lost my trust. I don't think Robbie needs to post here in Yelp since the company has spoken with me at length already. I spent at least 10 minutes talking to Mike on the telephone. The focus of the company is obviously to upsell hardware, not to provide service. A competing company replaced the faulty blower motor the next day. I paid a thousand dollars less than what All Temp quoted. Again, never going to work with this company again. read more

He explained and answered MY too many questions-but now I understand so much more about AC..and appreciate the knowledge. All repair people are spotless when they work...appreciated... as I seem to have 'collected' tools from other companies over the years when I didn't see them before they left. ("Don't return it; he probably has bought another already"..what??) They can't be compared to 'one other company' that advertising ALL the time, has been know to NOT SHOW UP and then not even re schedule. All Temp has been incredible from the day I first called them. My previous company told me they serviced all of the units in my home but had not. I called All Temp and they came out immediately. Serviced all of the units properly and efficiently. They are incredibly easy to work with and very responsive when you have a problem. Usually, I'm quite flexible about service calls. However, when something is urgent, you want someone to come out immediately. All Temp does that. While we were out of town, our kids stopped at the house briefly. They called me late at night to say that the house was 61° in the midst of the intense cold that we had a couple of weeks ago. They stayed over and called All Temp who came out the next morning, serviced the unit, got it running and ordered parts. Because of the age of the unit, I opted to replace it instead of repair it. The estimator called me immediately. The unit was installed the day after we arrived home. So thankful to have them as our service provider. We could have walked into an icebox of a house and a disaster with the pipes. Instead, our house was warm, safe and secure. So grateful!! read more

The Installation of a new AC unit went well but they did not get a zone panel installed - this apparently required another team and 'missing parts'. No issue here aside from the installers being late and never providing a courtesy call. The guys who installed the new AC unit get an extra star. The issue I ran into with All Temp is that the AC unit was installed in June and they have yet to finish the job FIVE months later. There is no accountability from anyone at this company. The sales lead in my area (Berwyn area) claimed he was waiting on parts from the manufacturer for the panel. A Honeywell trueZone kit, (we already had the parts for install from the start) and also available anywhere online and in hardware stores. When I asked what specific parts were still needed there was never a clear answer as I got frustrated hearing the same excuse. At one point he said he was going to be at the manufacturer and would check on parts and get back to me. I still never heard anything back... I have been messaging the field lead and calling the main office weekly to get an update and schedule the install. Each time, I get "That is not my department" or some excuse from someone that they'd give me a call back (never happened). Currently my phone seems to be blocked for their 800 number - we used a different phone to call them, which went through. Seriously? It has been months of unanswered messages, calls and promises of call backs. Now we enter the cold months, with the new excuse is "heating emergencies". The deal seems to be that once All Temp get's your payment, they don't care about finishing the job and just ghost their clients. In reading other reviews, it seems this is all too common and I wish I read all reviews more in-depth. At this point, I simply want the job done but am going to work with an actual professional. I would not recommend working with this company. read more

Our basement heat stopped working in the middle of winter. We would get heat upstairs but not in the basement. This issue occurred two times before and the repairmen were able to fix the problem. This company sent a guy who said we need a piping guy to come out to figure out why it isn't working. He had no clue what to do. read more
