Friendly staff, amazing range of foods (fresh and packaged), spices and good value. An adventure worth exploring.

Today while checking out after I put all my items on the belt and waiting to move forward I was using the cart to keep my balance an employee came to collect the single small basket and pulled the cart away from me and I fell backwards smacking my head and arms trying to stop myself. embarrassed I said I was ok. That was my first mistake. the guy picked up the basket and ran off. The head cashier I guess not sure asked if I was to go to security to right a report. again being embarrassed I said what good would that do. I will never shop here again

There's a Stop & Shop in my town that I dig.  (But if we're being honest... I dig this one a lot…read moremore.)  You walk in and there's a cool little Starbucks substation (it doesn't even matter that I'm not even a Starbucks person... this looks really cool and smells even better) and when you grab a cart?  Yeah, a little metal cup holder do-hickey right there for said Starbucks.  (The Stop & Shop in my town is living in the stone ages for both of these 'perks'.) Here in Clifton every department is bigger, better, cleaner and brighter (and most importantly... fresher!) than the one in my ZIP code. (Most noticeable - the seafood department is making the honor roll with an "A" grade but the Stop & Shop in my hometown is maybe - maybe! - a C+.  When this shopping center is firing on all cylinders it's madness all around (good luck driving, parking, the speed bumps and all the people with zero qualms to step in front of moving traffic!) but if you can swing in here early enough... it's not bad at all.

Stopped by the Clifton Stop & Shop recently, and while the store has a decent selection, the…read moreoverall experience was a bit frustrating. I was trying to get information on the "with card" pricing, and it was surprisingly difficult to find clear answers. Asked a couple of staff members for help, but no one seemed too interested in assisting. Also, the self-checkout area felt more like a chore than a convenience slow and not very intuitive. Somewhat terrible, but definitely not the smoothest shopping trip either.

It's very convenient to have right down the street, no need to pop onto a highway. Some of the reviews say the prices are higher, and that may be true. I haven't taken this into consideration when shopping, because it's very convenient so I'm willing to pay more. They are open until 8PM on most days, which is great and unusual for a place like this as well. Grateful to have this place in town!

You may not ever…read morecome across this review because you are busy searching restaurants in NYC for your next first date...BUT, you will be missing out. Lucky Farmers Market is a non-descript bodega perched in a four deep mini-mall on Bloomfield Ave. in Verona (co-occupied by Subway and double Krauszers). Sounds awesome, right? Actually, it is. Inside is where you actually get lucky.* Fresh fruit and vegetables in droves for way less than your not-so-supermarket. From gargantuan Asian pears to three kinds of cucumbers to berries of all kinds, Lucky will not let you down on the fruit and vegetable end. This is not a full market so don't get all, "That dude said this place had everything," because they don't have everything. They just have good produce, a smattering of market items (good, healthy options) and THIS IS WHERE YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION - a full-time sushi chef that churns out the best sushi around, restaurant or not. Yes, a small bodega will give you excellent sushi in a plastic container and you won't have to overpay for it. If you take anything from this, just get the Tuna/Salmon sandwich sushi and thank me later. Lucky is my go-to spot for the items I rely on - fruit, vegetables and sushi. I do the bulk of my shopping at a regular, large and fat market, but I get all my fruit and vegetables here and I get dinner here 2x a week, every week. Everyone who runs this place and works here is super friendly and a pleasure to see every day. In a pinch, you can get flowers here which actually last a while too. What else is there to say? If you don't ever have a reason to go to Lucky Farmers Market, no one will care (not even your Mom), but if you do have a chance to swing by with fruits, vegetables, sushi or something interesting in mind you just might have found your spot. ____________________ *Well, you might not get lucky if you are thinking something other than groceries or sushi, but I get Lucky almost every day.
