In the past, I would have given this place 5 stars. I've been going there for plenty of years. I personally like the meat combo. One time they mistakenly gave the food to someone else accused me of stealing it. I was thinking they have cameras there. I waited for a long time, but they eventually gave me another order . That is not enough to give them two stars. I'm nervous little by little my meat platter is getting more expensive and the amount of meat in it is getting smaller. When I called them about it, they said they'll make it up to me, but I never got a call back. When you are in Paterson, you can't go without having shawarmas and felafels :) I was roaming around for a good place and landed in Al bashas. From outside it looked like this place was closed but there was a small door and they were taking Take out only . There was. A terminal through which we ordered our food. Price was good. Not too expensive . The only issue was wait time : they said 15 mins to make 2 shawarmas and 1 felafel roll and it took more than 35 mins . It looks like most of them ordered online and then took the food after 30-45 mins . We did not know about ordering online . Next time I'll never order in store .. takes a longggggg time and not much of help around ... Food was good though. After so much of wait , i was satisfied with the quality of shawarma and felafel .. just for the food and price , I gave them 4 stars . Parking is tough in main street . This location has been renovated nicely as I've been coming here for years. I usually stop in for a pick-up order. It has a nice, modern ambiance and usually quiet. The humus, either with meat or by itself, is phenomenal! The service is great and my order is ready in a reasonable time. read more

I called him back and it was a great conversation, I am grateful restaurant owners like this exist. Basha is an institution in Paterson, not only because their food is great, but because they truly care about their customers. My daughter and I decided to venture into Paterson to try Al Basha, which had solid reviews. We ordered the Mezza, which was a generous amount of six or seven different appetizers and, likewise, a generous amount of their homemade pita bread. We brought half of the food home. I can't honestly say which was the most tasty, as they were all delicious. On the way out my daughter purchased a jar of their homemade olive oil. I wish 0 stars was a thing. Extremely disappointed -- this place has gone downhill. I've ordered from here 3 separate times, and each time the meat has been undercooked or completely RAW. I understand kebabs are grilled, but no reputable Middle Eastern restaurant -- especially one that claims halal standards -- should be serving raw meat to customers. This is not just a quality issue, it's a serious health risk. Raw or undercooked meat can lead to foodborne illnesses, and it's shocking that this has been allowed to happen repeatedly. I've never seen a halal religious owned food place, serve such things like this. Horrible. Save your money. If you are craving food like this, close out of their horrible menu and head to Toros! You will not be disappointed nor will you eat raw meat. Honestly, I'm concerned this place is still operating. This review is for the sandwich/take away shop. Came to try some different sandwich (kofta, shish kebab and schwarma). Comes in pita or wrap. Overall quality really went down. I've attached a picture of what the kebab sandwich is like. Full onion cut in 2 thrown in with a couple of pieces of meat. That's not how they used to be at all. The restaurant, the food, the staff and especially the General Manager Wassim Henawi is a Class Act. We are always greeted kindly with respect and professionalism. This five star establishment is truly a beautiful restaurant as well. In addition, we are always met with a smile and welcomed nicely. Wassim (manager) never fails to check on customers. I believe that he is by far the hardest working person on the floor. I say it to him all the time. He is very attentive, genuinely concerned if the customers are comfortable and if the food was prepared and served properly. The servers are always working together and they all have the exact same motivation. To ensure that your dining experience is enjoyable. Because Wassim is a great manager; he has the ability to get along with the entire staff as we have taken notice. Came with a few different meats... I believe a few different beef items, and a chicken dish. Everything was cooked well (fairly juicy) and the spices were really flavorful. We ordered from al basha this past weekend at the recommendation of a neighbor as we were getting tired of the regular restaurants close by n wanted to try a new place. We have no regrets. The food was delicious and the portions huge. For appetizers got the fatah hummus and musabaha Which were really good. The Turkish salad and tabbouleh salad were both excellent.
