Great desserts! Znoud al Sett is a game changer!
Edward K.

My friend and I checked this place out during a Saturday Paterson food fest. (Basically hitting 4 or 5 places and eating the bounty while standing behind my car COVID style) Al Hamadanya was a great place to get the dessert from. I won't remember the names of everything but the Znoud al Sett was incredible! It left cannolis in the dust. Great texture with a wonderful creamy filling. We had it at room temperature, I can only imagine how good it is when it's hot. The kunefe was wonderful, the texture of the topping was perfect. Not dry in any places. The cheese underneath was superb, great level of sweetness. The chocolate baklava was stunning, decadent chocolate flavor with an array of textures. Practically a brownie towards the bottom, with a crispy top layer. We also had the traditional baklava and a cylindrical item with chocolate drizzle, both of those were quite good as well. Really enjoyed Al Hamadanya and will be back!

Spread of baklava's - so many varieties

Wow! So many baklava's. and each is so perfectly crafted. Not too sweet. And moist and fresh. They also serve tea/ coffee I met Assam ( the son of the owner) , who was very courteous and made me try a brown rectangle sweet with custard filling- which is their best seller. Loved it. Amazing customer service. We also got some cookies which is good too. I ordered a to go sampler box- which included a piece of each available variety from their store as I am new to Iraqi deserts. It costed me about 13 $. Will return for sure

A must go and a must get! Super delicious kunafah, the service was great too! Definitely worth it and I highly recommend this store. Will definitely visit again, more sweets to try anyway.

Great store and very friendly, informative staff. We asked lots of questions about the different kinds of products and everything was pleasantly answered. Definitely recommend and we will return.

This spot makes their own homemade Middle Eastern sweets. Soo good yet soo devilishly bad haha. You have to have a real sweet tooth to eat these, because they do use a that sweet syrup. Some are flaky, some are syrupy.

Variety of sweets

I visited Al-Alhamadanya Sweets twice on a recent visit to NJ. They carry a variety of delicious sweets! The Kanafa, chocolate baklava, and lady arm(s) are especially delicious! The service was also top tier. This bakery is run by a family that makes the sweets fresh daily. We got to talk to the owner, Othman, who was very hospitable and sweet. Would definitely recommend and return!

Right of 80 you will find very small place to buy sweets - iraqi knafeh The Kanfeh was amazing very Fresh, I really liked the idea of sweet but not "crazy sweet" ( as you can get in other sweets stores in the area.)

Fantastic Middle Eastern desserts and the friendliness proprietor around. Try the "Ladies' Arms" and the baklava. Excellent all around!

Wish I could give them 10 Stars... A very friendly gentleman at the counter welcomed us and proceded to showed/explain the different pastries. When we said it was our first time there, he quickly handed us samples! Everything was super fresh and it was still warm with pistachio goodness! We are so happy to find this hidden gem (thanks to Yelp!), We purchasing an assortments of sweets and the gentleman gave us a few more to try on the house. -Spotless/Super Clean Cafe -Wonderful Service! -Wonderful Delicacies! Best part of living in the New York City/Northern New Jersey area is the melting pot of cultures and the access to so much great food. This is what makes America Great!!

Box of assorted baklava...you will regret it if you pick up a smaller box. This is from personal experience

Been to this place 3 times in the past few months since I first discovered it while trying out the Iraqi kebab place 2 doors down (a must try there as well!). This is a great family run neighborhood sweets place. The first time I stopped in the owner(?) was so warm and kind and offered me samples. Today, we went with a big box of assorted baklava. Love that they are making this fresh. The Hubby is hooked and has his coworkers hooked as well. While this place is a bit outside of the Main Street area, it's a very quick drive so if you're already in the neighborhood, add this place to your list, ask for a sample (if you haven't been offered it already) and pick up enough super delicious sweets to eat later and share with people you care about (we gotta take care of each other, now, more than ever). You will be happy that you satisfied your sweet tooth AND helped to keep this small business alive. (Note: They have VEGAN baklava).

Znoud El Sitt!

Wow. I didn't think it was possible but Nablus actually has a competitor now in NJ. Owned by an Iraqi American family Znoud El Sett might be my favorite dessert. I normally grab a piece or two of Kunafeh when I go to Paterson. FOR YEARS. However these guys made me re-think my approach. Think (very) thinpastry layer with cream in the inside, deep fried and then buttered and covered in sweet syrup. Delightful and something new to the Arab food scene in paterson. If you are a dessert person from any culture, go and try that very dish out. Portion sizes are smaller so I don't feel as guilty.

Great dessert place and open late! The kunafeh was delicious and not too sweet. Sometimes I feel the syrup makes it too sweet, but Alhamadanya is just right. I also got a fried dough item filled with custard - very delicious. The owner is so sweet! The space is small only 3 table and counter space for 3.

Not authentic sweets. Sloppy and they use mozzarella cheese. Bad customer service, too.
