Usually when looking to satisfy my sweet tooth I head to Nablus but wanted to try something new and so glad I came here! The store front isn't flashy but the desserts are delicious. The area is an odd place for a sweet shop, kinda industrial, but there's abundant parking as a result. The place is small but cute with a few tables to sit. We were greated by thr owner who kindly explained to us each dessert. The knafeh here is DELICIOUS. The cheese is the best I've had in awhile and it's not overly sweet. He does give syrup on the side like usual but it honestly didn't need it. Perfectly crunchy and warm. I've never had chocolate baklava but this one was so good. Flakey, not overly sweet, and crunchy from the pistachios. Ideally I wish they served turkish coffee to sip along side the desserts but I settled for a regular cup or joe. I would definitely give this place a try, don't miss out on the knafeh! It'll be my favorite place for it now and definitely going back. read more

My friend and I checked this place out during a Saturday Paterson food fest. (Basically hitting 4 or 5 places and eating the bounty while standing behind my car COVID style) Al Hamadanya was a great place to get the dessert from. I won't remember the names of everything but the Znoud al Sett was incredible! It left cannolis in the dust. Great texture with a wonderful creamy filling. We had it at room temperature, I can only imagine how good it is when it's hot. The kunefe was wonderful, the texture of the topping was perfect. Not dry in any places. The cheese underneath was superb, great level of sweetness. The chocolate baklava was stunning, decadent chocolate flavor with an array of textures. Practically a brownie towards the bottom, with a crispy top layer. We also had the traditional baklava and a cylindrical item with chocolate drizzle, both of those were quite good as well. They also serve tea/ coffee I met Assam ( the son of the owner) , who was very courteous and made me try a brown rectangle sweet with custard filling- which is their best seller. Loved it. This is a true hidden gem. Don't be fooled by the glitz of larger Main Street establishments -- this is one of the only, if not THE only Mid East bakeries in northern New Jersey that hand-makes their phyllo dough fresh and the difference is clear. These desserts are excellent by middle eastern standards. Compared to American establishments, this blows everything out of the water. The attention to detail, the quality of the ingredients, and the kindness and welcoming nature make this a standout. I have a tree nut allergy, and this is a spot that adds the pistachios on the kunafa and other desserts to order, so I can get my favorites without nuts and without worrying about getting a reaction. Long name, amazing results. While waiting for my order at neighboring Almazaq, I stopped in here to sample a few of their desserts. A few of their tray after tray after tray of desserts. Half of which were baklava. Don't like pistachios? Walnut baklava. Don't like nice things like baklava? Wait, there's more! We ended up sampling: * Cream rolls. I've seen these in Middle Eastern restaurants but never tried them until now. They have a unique flavor to them, almost like there's chickpea in the pastry dough or the cream. It's like a cannoli except it's nothing like a cannoli. * "Bird's nest" baklava: Like nothing you've had before. It's pistachios sitting in a nest of shredded wheat, drowned in so much honey that it's stickier than that Chinese White Rabbit dessert that never leaves your teeth. I was literally eating the wrapper to get every last bit. * Chocolate baklava: Also like nothing you've had before. Take baklava and add chocolate, and the flavor profile will expand your mind. I asked if this was authentic or Americanized and the guy shrugged so we ordered it anyway. A must have. * ... it was orange on top and has cheese in it. I don't remember the name or if he even said the name. It's somewhat sweet but also cheesy. You'll want to eat it fresh while it's warm or else heat it up so it gets hot and super-gooey. * "Moroccan dessert" - Sort of like a baklava cake, it's syrup-soaked dough topped with pistachios. This one kept growing on me and I'm glad it was the one I finished the night on. Then again, I probably would have said that about any of the five. You literally cannot go wrong here and I'm really glad we stopped by. Been to this place 3 times in the past few months since I first discovered it while trying out the Iraqi kebab place 2 doors down (a must try there as well!). This is a great family run neighborhood sweets place. The first time I stopped in the owner(?) was so warm and kind and offered me samples. Today, we went with a big box of assorted baklava. Love that they are making this fresh. The Hubby is hooked and has his coworkers hooked as well. While this place is a bit outside of the Main Street area, it's a very quick drive so if you're already in the neighborhood, add this place to your list, ask for a sample (if you haven't been offered it already) and pick up enough super delicious sweets to eat later and share with people you care about (we gotta take care of each other, now, more than ever). I normally grab a piece or two of Kunafeh when I go to Paterson. FOR YEARS. However these guys made me re-think my approach. Think (very) thinpastry layer with cream in the inside, deep fried and then buttered and covered in sweet syrup. Delightful and something new to the Arab food scene in paterson. If you are a dessert person from any culture, go and try that very dish out. Portion sizes are smaller so I don't feel as guilty. read more

Really great spot for sweets! I can't honestly compare it to others in the area since I only eat soft knafa, they only had the angle hair and last time I ate that was years ago. Thing is I never liked angle hair knafa, until now. It was absolutely delicious to have a plate of this stuff. The portions looked small but with the sugar water on top, it was like eating the tastiest brick! Ok that's not the best way to describe it but it really is a heavy dessert. A great night cap if you can handle it too. They open very late, something past midnight? Which is crazy convenient for anyone looking for a dessert late at night. The Kunafa they have is excellent I have had a lot of kunafa in my life and this is one of the best. I like coming here when I miss food back home, it's great coming here and my friend loved it.
