We were very pleased with our meal. We began with a salad nizzi ( think nicoise) that was full of fresh greens, hard boiled eggs, tuna, and olives. You add balsamic vinegar and olive oil to taste with good results. Then my wife enjoyed prawns and shellfish over home made pasta, while I got a so called pizza. It was very good unless you are looking for a traditional circular pizza with mostly red sauce and cheese. This was elliptical, light on the red sauce, with greens, prosciutto, a scoop of burrata, and balsamic drizzle. They were crowded, and deservedly so.

Dessert: Semifreddo

Great service. Great ambiance. Server was kind & answered any questions we had regarding the menu. Specially I am looking for gluten free options due to dietary needs. I found on a bottom part of the menu that there is gluten free dough and gluten free pasta for an additional 2€ per plate. Reading the reviews, I went for the Pasta Alla Forma. Our server was just the kindest, she came to ask if gluten was intolerance or an allergy. Then proceeded to inform that the topping on the pasta plate which included cheese, mushrooms, and truffle oil contained gluten but if we would like it could be made gluten free, which we did. It was delicious. Unfortunately they do not have a gluten free bread option for any appetizers or plates that include it. Also ordered the Semifreddo for dessert. If you're a chocolate lover. Please do yourself the favor and get it. It's so good!

The food was delicious! We loved everything we tried from the bruschetta and meats & cheeses board, to each of our main dishes. I had the linguine with prawns and it was so good!

Spaghetti with shrimp awesome!!

Our first time in Lisbon. Al Garage was recommended by our hotels front desk. We're glad we went. We didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us since we walked a distance to get there. Food was great. The service was excellent!! Would visit them again if we ever come back to Lisbon.

Pasta Alla Forma: The Specialty of the House, Spaghetti made in a Grana Padano form, with Porcini Mushrooms, White Truffle Olive Oil and Ham

Yum!! We were seated quickly and had wonderful attentive service. We asked the server for his recommendations and he was QUICK to show us and talk about the special (Pasta Alla Forma: Spaghetti made in a Grana Padano form, with Porcini Mushrooms, White Truffle Olive Oil and Ham) They made the pasta in a giant cheese wheel it was delicious! Location was perfect, close to downtown, and cute outdoor seating option. There was a ton of indoor seating and it was a great restaurant if you're traveling with one other person or a larger group. Seafood options looked great and pizzas were tempting/a popular order from what we saw leaving the kitchen.

Shrimp app - outstanding

Some seating outdoors and large restaurant inside. The menu is pretty epic. We were extremely happy diners with a sear outside. Three of us had the fried mozzarella app and a shrimp app that we would get again in a minute! In addition the entrees were wonderful. See pics. Really excellent Italian food In Portugal who woulda thought. Definitely will go again before we leave. The staff were nice enough but not overly friendly by any means. Great desserts too. This is a restaurant where you want three or four selections and its tough to make a decision. Something for everyone! Visited a second time and ended up with 4 different wait staff. Extremely annoying to say the least to pay the bill and get out of that joint

Pizza and penguins! :)

Our hotel recommended Al Garage. My meal was delicious but the 4/5 unfortunately was due to my husband's pasta and my daughter's pizza being mediocre. The staff was friendly, though we had 3 different waiters because no one spoke English (which was fine!). Wine selection and food selection was excellent... many choices!!! I wanted a fettuccine Alfredo type dish and although it specifically was not on the menu, our waitress was able to find something comparable. The decor is simple but cute and it's as very busy, which is a good sign! We had an enjoyable time and the people watching was fun as well. If you are looking for some good Italian food in Lisbon, I would check it out!

Caprese pizza

Excellent food and ambiance. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the pizza. The menu is incredible with many choices of pizza, pasta and main dishes. The service was good. Very busy but very attentive. I would recommend.

Great little find on the odd side of town but near a number of international brand hotels. Nice patio in the daytime and surprisingly large dining space on the inside. They have an open kitchen facing the room and nice to watch them prepare things. Food was excellent. My wife and I had two different pastas and they were both great.

They seated me early Ave then announced the kitchen won't open until 7. Having said that, they were very nice and accommodating. They have English menus and English speaking servers. I ordered the berry sangria (rec'd by server), bruschetta, and the saltimbocca with a salad. The food was good to get good - not quite grate. Bruschetta, for instance, the bruschetta hardly had basil and was not seasoned, but the olive oil and tomatoes were lovely. The pork in saltimbocca was a little dry but the sauce was velvety and delicious. I ended with coffee and creme caramel for dessert. The coffee was amazing, which seems to be SOP in Portugal. The caramel (aka flan) was ok and likely not made in house. I saw they have the pasta made in the cheese wheel, but my experiences with that have been underwhelming - it's more show than quality. If that's your jam, may be worth a try. The pizza looked really good. The place itself is cute, tucked into a mall. The tablecloths were a little worn. The staff was attentive and kind. Overall, a pretty good choice.

Plus, my 6-year old just got off our tour bus and needed a bathroom break All of our orders came out in good time and our server was very helpful and friendly. We chatted a bit about his family in California. We ordered two steaks with wine reduction sauce. Very good. One steak was over cooked but it was fine. Clams as appetizer was awesome with the house bread. One order of lasagna and I would give it a 8/10 compared to other restaurants at home. One order of pasta carbonara. It was good but not outstanding. One order of spaghetti bolognese. That one was average. We just arrived from Barcelona a few days before Lisbon and we were missing sangria so we ordered one pitcher. It's not as good as the ones in Barcelona but then again this is not Barcelona. For dessert we ordered 3 ice cream and a tiramisu. The ice cream was over-priced at 8 Euro each. Skip dessert and go get some great pastries or gelato outside around the plaza.i

I had the lasagna and it looked fantastic, it didn't taste quite as good. It kind of acidic, slightly but lacked a lot of flavour sadly. I put lots of cheese on it but is only partially fixed it. We also had a salami pizza and spaghetti boulegnese. Both were ok. Spaghetti was tasty but maybe a little fatty tasting and the pizza was thin crust but not crispy or firm at all. Just alright. We also had the fruit crepes for dessert, they were just ok, not worth having. The ones I had at Josephine up town were miles better. These were the doughy kind of texture which I don't like. Sorry it didn't blow me away as I was hoping so. But I also didn't realise it is smack in the middle of the tourist area, we had spent most of our trip uptown near Alfama and it is way more authentic and real... And way cheaper. I think fish was €50 here, and for a tiny fish. If you go uptown you cms get that for €15 max, and way bigger...

I absolutely love this place!…read more We were walking around, actually looking for a different place when locals recommended this place to us. It doesn't look special from the outside but it's super small and cozy inside. There's an 'outdoor' part with three tables in something like a winter garden and there are about 10 tables inside. The ambiance is great and it's easy I get in touch with your neighbors ( only if you want to of course). The staff is super friendly and they even have menus in all different languages. We ordered the shrimp tagliatelle and it was amazing! For an appetizer we tried Portuguese cheese and bread, also really good. But my absolute favorite and the reason we had to come back is the mousse au chocolate! Unfortunately I couldn't take a picture before I started to eat but I promise is delicious!!!
