His professionalism and kindness have made me a believer in GM. It is rare to find service this reliable, and it has earned my long-term loyalty. I could go into all of the many shady things they did--but the bottom line is they are the exact reason why people hate dealerships and are not buying new cars anymore. Price switching, lies, damage they don't disclose, sales manager who can't keep his story straight...all of it true. This was like walking into a hidden camera show where they do and say things so egregious that you actually expect to find cameras and an audience laughing. I brought my in for an oil change & windshield washer recall. I scheduled a pickup with Dennis. They picked up my car promptly. I received a call from JR in the service department. He mentioned other items that I might need to addressed. I agreed to having two other items serviced. When the service was completed JR called to go over the repairs and what was owed. THIS DEALERSHIP ENGAGES IN SHADY PRACTICES. BUYER BEWARE! I wish I could give them a 0 or negative 10. I found the vehicle online and verified that it was still available. I made an appointment for my husband and uncle to see the vehicle. I shared with the online salesperson PATTY that I'm using my credit union for financing. My husband and uncle traveled over an hour to see the vehicle. When it came time to buy and we said we needed a BILL.OF SALE for the credit union, we were told the dealership does not accept credit uniom checks. We were then told by CHRISTIAN the Sales Manager that they don't accept outside financing but they are not a bank so they do accept outside financing. When that flimsy excuse wasn't accepted he flat out said that they could refuse to sell the car. They don't have to sell us the car . STAY AWAY from Al Piemonte Chevy and probably all their other stores if you have your own financing because even if you have cash, they won't accept the deal. After waiting a week to finalize a deal with Al Piemonte in East Dundee to order a new 2026 truck, I contacted them to ask why they are so poor at communications. I still have not heard after three days if my truck was ordered. I was given a rude call from Gracin tonight who did not like being told he sucks at communication! He gave me a bunch of empty excuses why he hasn't ordered the truck yet...they had a Christmas party, he needed help, etc. I could have been more tolerant of his excuses if he wasn't so rude about it. What ever happened to the customer being right or CUSTOMER SERVICE!! He was so rude that I cut the conversation short and asked that he return my money. I told him I will go to another dealer and his response was that he would be happy to lose my business. I certainly hope the owners of Al Piemonte know how rude their so called sales manager is to customers. It started with a simple online inquiry about a specific vehicle. I received an initial response from a representative named Sophia, but after that, communication abruptly stopped. By the end of the next day--with no further reply--I submitted a general inquiry to the sales team. That's when I heard back from Manish. We exchanged a few emails, and I eventually made a fair offer on the vehicle. Manish replied, asking if I planned to finance, to which I responded that my offer was independent of financing. After that--radio silence. Multiple follow-ups to both Manish and Sophia were ignored. At that point, I assumed they just weren't interested in doing business. (Pro tip: don't ignore people trying to give you their hard-earned money.) About a week later, I noticed the same vehicle was still listed for sale. Still interested, I decided to try their "Buy Online" process to see if that would finally get someone's attention. It worked--this time, I heard back from a sales manager named Darwin. To his credit, Darwin was responsive, and over the next day or so, we came to an agreement on purchasing the vehicle. I live in Wisconsin--about two hours away--so I planned to make the drive down that Saturday. Before making the trip, I wanted to double-check the final numbers. Unfortunately, Darwin was off that Friday. I called the dealership to speak with Sophia (who didn't start until noon), and once again, communication dropped off during what should have been the final step. Eventually, I was passed along to another sales manager named Volkan Bulakbasi. By around 3pm, after several back-and-forths, we seemed to finally be on the same page. I had plans to drive down Saturday morning and complete the purchase. Then at 5pm Friday--just as I was finalizing everything--I received a call from Volkan stating that the vehicle had just been sold to someone else. His excuse? "First come, first served." Never mind that I had gone through the GM credit checks, had a cashier's check ready, had switched over my insurance, and we had a confirmed deal in place. To say I was shocked and angry would be an understatement. I sent an email to everyone involved, letting them know exactly how I felt about these shady practices. Then--about 45 minutes later--Volkan called me back, saying the other buyer "was no longer interested" and the car was now magically available again, but only if I put down earnest money immediately. I was already on my way back to cancel the cashier's check. I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I no longer trusted the dealership or its practices. It felt like an underhanded tactic to either drive up the price or pressure me into a rushed, emotional decision. Whether the "other buyer" ever existed is anyone's guess--but I wasn't about to play games. To be fair, Darwin called me the next morning in an effort to salvage the situation. He offered some incentives and asked if I would reconsider. While I appreciated the gesture, it was too little, too late. The damage had already been done--my trust was gone. In the end, I found the exact same vehicle the following week at a local dealership and had a fantastic buying experience. No games, no pressure, no last-minute bait-and-switch. Bottom line: I would not recommend Al Piemonte Chevrolet in Dundee to anyone. The lack of communication, questionable tactics, and sheer disregard for a serious buyer's time and effort made this one of the worst dealership experiences I've ever had. Buyer beware. read more

SOLD ME A LEMON! Purchased my daughter a Chevy Sonic on 7/6/23. This vehicle has been in for repairs 7 times since then, including needing a whole new engine. Thank God I purchased a warranty. They lied about the price of the car. Online price was 9000. When I got to the dealership they informed me that price doesn't include the 1800 service charge they add to all cars. Lied about the finance rate. Was told it would be 8.99%. The finance man had me sign all paperwork on a computer screen. Later at home checked the papers out. Finance rate is 11.99%. Made an appointment. A salesman greets me outside. Checked out the car I was interested in. Then the games begin. They would not tell my how much they appraised my car for. They just wanted a number I was comfortable with paying each month. Then he turns the paper around for me to sign to lock me into a deal! WE DON'T EVEN HAVE DEAL. They deceptively put the price low to get people in their dealership. They say it's the pricing of if you do financing. We wanted to pay cash they were going to charge $7500 more. In the end we financed and they have been very non helpful on allowing us to get rid of the added charges like gap that they forced onto my contract and charged higher than they were supposed to. It took my wife and I going in for them to agree to pay the extra back that they charged, so we will see if they stick to their word. They had my truck with them for over a month in order to fix a massive leak in the differential which they deceptively said they fixed when I took it in prior 2 days after buying the truck and driving it home. Which in itself is unprofessional, as it should've been replaced in the first place. At first it was in limbo because they wanted to figure out who's going to pay for it to be done. Then when they finally figured out that they would pay for it, which at first I was called and told that the miles I had on it were too much to honor the 500 mile warranty which is law. Which the only reason it was higher is because they lied on the paperwork on what the miles were stating it was lower than what they even got the truck with when delivered to their dealership. I was mad and threatened a lawsuit and then got called by Mike stating the other guy shouldn't have called me. They gave me a loaner the Friday before fixing my truck which was done the following Tuesday. So the whole time we were without a reliable vehicle, which is why we went to buy the truck in the first place. This place is a scummy as can be! I really wish Chevrolet would figure this out and either shut down this dealership or fire everyone and start over! My wife literally wants to get a stand and signs and sit in front of the dealership and warn every single person coming there to steer clear. When we came to get the truck once finished, there was even a family waiting who had a similar story where the vehicle had serious flaws and they were waiting for months rather than a month. They were very informative and helped me understand the breakdown of everything. Very clean and professional environment. This is the second truck I have purchased from them. However, YOU CAN NOT TRUST them for their word. I was promised I would have time to move my personal items from my old truck into the new one (it was raining when I bought the new truck, so I could not put everything in the bed). I was told I had 5 days and my old truck would be right there ready for me to take my things. I came back only 2 days later and my truck was GONE. WITH ALL MY BELONGINGS. they sold it to the place across the street, and half of my things are still missing. Recieved a very deceitful piece of mail. Let me explain to those of you who experienced the same thing exactly how they were able to get us all. They printed a fake "winner" on every single piece of those scratch off pieces of mail. They told their office staff to tell everyone who called in about this, that they were a winner after "confirming" their code. Once they get you to hike to the dealership(everyone's emissions and gas is not a worry to them in the slightest!) they have a salesman give you a pitch on trying to sell you a car. They keep you there until they get through their spiel, go to see if your code matches their "true winner" code. But of course you can't contact the federal trade commission on this matter, because they gave you your $2 scratcher that deemed you a winner. They gave everyone winning numbers, but wasted everyone's time in the process. I'm looking into buying a new car literally at this very moment, and I can guarantee you that I will never step foot in this Chevrolet dealership. This is completely FAKE. It actually states on it "No Gimmick" I called the number you're supposed to call. The woman who answered asked what my confirmation code was. Once I told her she said "congratulations you are a confirmed winner of one of our prizes." All I had to do was bring the mailer, driver's license and my insurance card to prove my identity. I asked her "what's the catch?" "There's no catch." She said. I should have listened to my husband who was very skeptical and thought it was BS. So we go over there. We walk in there's balloons and tables set up. We walk over to some guy tell him why we're there. He tells us to sit down. I look over at my husband who's shaking his head with a I told you so look on his face. So the guy sits down and proceeds to tell us we actually won a lottery ticket!! I told him the woman on the phone never mentioned we won a lottery ticket. He tried to actually say I needed to read the fine print! Needless to say I was mad that I was LIED to on the phone. Not a very good trip to the repair section of the dealership. To start: don't expect to pay what they tell you verbally, I had to pay tax and an extra "tax" as it was described to me under the name "shop supplies" which was an extra $14.30. I went in there to get my car diagnosed for two problems that kept popping up on my car dashboard: air bag and tire pressure monitor system. When I picked it up to leave I had a 3rd one come up: the battery light. Next thing I know I'm stranded in a parking lot with a car that won't start. Had to call a towing company. Is it the dealerships fault or coincidence? Not sure but I never had that problem before going to this stealership. read more
