Be very careful if you are considering purchasing a new Sienna equipped with rear entertainment. If you do not have a digital rear view mirror, the TV blocks the ENTIRE rear view. The tv actually has a warning message that tells you not to use the TV if it blocks your view! St. Charles Toyota and Toyota Corporation does not not care at all. Side notes: don't expect the wireless charger to work. The front sensors also go out almost immediately when the snow begins to fall. I think it has something to do with the honeycomb grill and the snow accumulates super fast inside of it. read more

I bought my car brand new from Saint Charles Toyota, and my experience with their service department has been nothing short of frustrating. Not long after purchasing, I noticed the carpet in my car was coming loose. When I brought it in to be fixed, instead of addressing the problem properly, they "fixed" it with zip ties. About a year later, the carpet started ripping badly in the same area, eventually to the point where the entire carpet had to be replaced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before this major repair, I had asked them multiple times to properly address the issue. Each time, I was told the car was ready, only to find that the problem was still there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On one occasion, I was even handed my car back with the exact same rip I had originally pointed out -- nothing had been done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of that, my service notes were passed between so many employees that nobody seemed to know what had actually been worked on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time I asked for clarity, I got vague answers or was told "we don't know." I inquired about a car on their website, they said it wasn't delivered yet but I could put down a refundable deposit to have first crack at the car. They send me a quote and I go into the dealership to put down the deposit. I get there they want to value my trade in and go over pricing. Sure, I prepared assuming this would happen. They low balled me on the trade in but said maybe they could do something there when the vehicle I'm putting the deposit on comes in. Next they bring out the price sheet for the car, I try to start negotiation and they say they are a one price dealership they don't negotiate the price, even though the price they emailed me was $1500 less than the price at the dealership. Super shady sending out one price to get you in the door and then raising the price once you are there and won't negotiate. They will not be getting my business now or in the future. read more

Inventory of 2020 vehicles was very limited and forces a potential buyer into spending more than budgeted. Was not willing to haggle and kept on stating that salespeople do not earn commission. SO WHAT? If one is not willing to move on price what correlation is that to earning a commission? Trying to find a dealership closer than Elgin, I decided to bring my Avalon to St Charles Toyota. There was a special for synthetic oil change, tire rotation and vehicle inspection. I was told it'd be about an hour wait. A few minutes past the wait time, Nicholas went over the mechanic notes. 1) Noticed musty smell when AC first turned on. Recommend clean out / clean out duct work. I laughed that one off. 2)Brake fluid was dirty..:recommended flush and replace. Less than 40k miles on car...I said no! 3) 60% wear left on brakes. Might make it through winter. All depends on my driving habits. If I wore them down 40% in four years...logic would say they might last through winter. When I need brakes, might address fluid cleaning! 4) Air and cabin filter were covered in dust...in the yellow / warning range. Less than 6 months and 6000 miles, they were replaced at different dealership. I called him out on that...said a little dusty, not necessary. 5) Tire tread at 60 % on all four. They neglected to notice the maintenance sticker from Costco on the windshield, tires less than three months old. Still have the brand new nubs. Needless to say...the trust factor between customer and dealer is non existent and I will not return for any kind of work here. The way to build a customer coming back is to be honest. Don't try to up sell to the point where I felt like I avoided being scammed! read more

Update: Had to go back for a big engine issue. Needed injectors. Kudos to the service techs for repairing the car. I got a loaner car for "free". But, on inspecting my bill I discovered the price I'd been quoted included injectors that we're priced higher than their parts website quoted... at $188 10% higher than Toyota MSRP of $171!!! I'd be surprised if it weren't for my previous experience here. As it is I think I'm completely done with Toyota. I was extremely pleased with our used car purchase experience at St Charles Toyota. Our salesperson was Rick Carlson, and he was superb. We came on a Saturday to test-drive a specific vehicle, and I was impressed. But it wasn't until after we test-drove another car at another dealership a few days later that I realized just how valuable Rick's test drive was. He knew a lot about the car. He answered all of our questions expertly. He spent about thirty minutes with us IN the car. Not four quick right turns around the block like the other dealership. He was also simply a warm person. And did I mention that he knew A LOT about the car? He encouraged us to test everything--gas, brakes, music, navigation, any other feature. He told us everything that we needed to know about the Toyota certification inspection and the remaining warranty on different aspects of the car. Long story short, we chose that car, in large part due to how thoroughly we got to know it during Rick's test-drive. We traded in a car here as well. Rick and the manager Rich were completely transparent about their estimation process, and their number ended up being identical to Carmax's, so obviously we went with the dealer trade-in. On top of everything else, Rick rescued our garage-door opener from our traded-in car seconds before we drove away. St. Charles Toyota offers their best price up front so it's not hours of back and forth. Now you might be thinking, "how good is that price?" I went to two other local Toyota dealerships and had the usual experience - hours of negotiations, giving me garbage pricing hoping I hadn't shopped and had to deal with one very rude GM who thought he could bully me into his price. St. Charles Toyota best price (offered to me immediately) on a 2021 Toyota Camry XSE was very competitive. In fact it was better than another local Toyota dealership price on a 2020 Toyota Camry SE (lower model). I will note, the 2020 Camry did have several dealership add ons, which bumped the price up but I found those to be a waste of money anyway. I also want to mention I worked with Brittany's manager (Rob) and Roger in finance, both of whom were also easy to work with. Roger had all the paperwork ready to go, explained everything to me and made the process painless. My experience at St. Charles Toyota was refreshing from start to finish! Emma has been absolutely amazing over the past several months. I moved to the area over the summer and was in the market for the gen 5 Prius. I have been to at least 5 other Toyota dealerships in Illinois and I would never recommend any of them. St Charles Toyota is a gem. St. Charles does NOT markup any of their vehicles, all packages are optional, Emma collected my documents and got me pre-approved for a loan before the Prius even came... I was in at the dealership for about an hour before driving away in my new car- that is how quick and painless my experience was. Other Toyota dealerships had me sit there for over an hour wasting my time just to discuss the possibility of putting a deposit down on a car (ex. said MSRP and I filled out paperwork and then when I was going to put my deposit down, there was suddenly a 3k markup with a required 3k package for more oil changes and windshield protection). Will not even go back to that dealership for service; there is no way someone who has worked at a dealership for 18 years does not know that they mark up their cars-so she was trying to get me excited and hope that I wanted the car bad enough to throw down another 5-6k. Another Toyota dealership stated that they did not markup their cars, so I asked if there was a required package and the women said yes-4k.. so they mark up their cars. Overall, St. Charles was the nicest, most honest, to the point dealership. I never felt like I was being scammed or forced to buy anything extra; they simply told me my options and I said yes or no and we all moved on. I will drive 30 miles to St. Charles for anything I need even though there are at least 4 Toyota dealerships that are closer to me. Went to pickup car and service associate did not disclose that they ended up repairing the harness by splicing wire. Spoke to Shawn service manager and did nothing about concessions on price.
