If I didn't live so far away (40+ miles) I'd make this THE go to place for my 2019 Honda CRV. I was on the tollway, going with the flow of traffic at about 70mph, when I suddenly heard an awful, terrifying, loud metal screeching sound coming from my car. When I was able to exit the tollway & pull over to a safe side street, I looked at the under carriage & found that the metal skid plate that covers & protects the underside of the engine, had come loose & was dragging & scraping the pavement. Knowing that issue creates dangerous sparks & other problems I decided to call AAA. Lucky for me, the tow truck driver suggested Charlie Car Care, and took me & my SUV there. The staff took my car immediately, reattached the skid plate with new bolts, and had me out of there in under an hour! Their price was very reasonable! I expected to pay 3-4x more, so was super pleased when they told me the price. The waiting area is nice & comfortable too. In addition to all that, the staff is super friendly. Madeline and Moises are excellent at customer service. Just like the other reviewers say...they are really professional & very friendly. All the staff members deserve 5 stars! If I lived 40 miles closer, I would definitely go back again. I HIGHLY recommend this business anyone that needs help with their vehicles. read more

The fuel pump and sensor went bad on my 2014 Kia. I brought it here to be worked on. The parts had to be specially ordered. They got it done very quickly once the parts arrived and at a very reasonable cost. I have been using this shop for years for 2 different cars. I have found them to always be very friendly, accommodating, and the prices very reasonable. They've even gone above and beyond on a couple of occasions. Not once have I had any issues with the work they've done. 10/10 Would recommend, will definitely go back again. read more

We had an UNSATISFACTORY experience with this repair shop. My son brought in his vehicle (2005 Dodge Stratus) on Sat Feb 15 2020 for a routine oil change. He was advised to replace coolant and wiper blades. They also pointed out his dipstick was broken, and they noted that 2 bulbs were burned out over the license plate and center brake light, and replaced those. So far so good, he agreed to have these items replaced. After completing the servicing and paying, he drove off to join us in Wisconsin Dells. Only after driving in the evening did he realize that the bulb in the instrument panel was now no longer working. And after he got to the Dells we realized his tail lights were not working - he had driven 3 hours on the interstate in the dark with no tail lights. We also then realized his car horn no longer operates, and the warning chime to indicate that headlights have been left on also had stopped working. In short, multiple electrical items that were working fine before the servicing are now no longer working. This poor review however is not simply for the repair job itself. Issues like this can happen and we don't suggest these problems were caused intentionally or out of negligence. HOWEVER, after returning to the city, my son went back to the Mobil 1 Elgin shop to explain the problems noted here, and that they appeared immediately after the servicing done by Mobil 1 Elgin. Instead of listening to his explanation and offering to inspect the vehicle and see what had happened, the service attendant became verbally abusive to my son and began shouting at him. He wound up leaving the store with his car still having these electrical problems which we have good reason to believe were caused by Mobil 1 Elgin. He will now have to go to another shop to get them fixed at his expense. We are writing this review as a cautionary notice to others. And we are expecting a reasoned response from the management of Mobil 1 Elgin. If none is received our next step is to report this incident to the Better Business Bureau. We would not have posted this review had it not been for the verbally abusive response my son received on his second visit to the shop to try to get the issues fixed. We are giving them 2 stars to indicate that this is not a typical Internet 1-star cranky review. read more

Stopped in for a quick oil change and found out they had a great special going, only $49.99 + tax for the change, new air filter, tire rotation and safety check. Can't beat that! Was out in about 30 mins. Gave me a reasonable quote for a tune-up and some other things (which at 105,000 miles, I know my car actually needs). The manager and employee working were very nice and answered all my questions. I'll be back! read more

This place is like my own personal mechanic being how close I live to them and how friendly they are! Every month I get an oil change and it's so rewarding. If you get either the top 2 premium choices of engine oil you get a $5 gift card to Starbucks! All you have to do is enter an online code. Sooo, go there. Folks, I can't remember a better oil change experience in my life. I read the ratings and gave them a try. We have an 01' GMC which runs great, and want to keep running that way. My wife and I drove up to the entrance and we were the only ones there at the time (2 pm on a Saturday). My wife (which is temporarily using crutches ) Is slowly getting out of our truck. The owner sees this ,and runs out to help her get out. Then runs to open the door to the building for us. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to our experience there. Our truck has 160k miles, and had the high mileage oil change. New air filter, cabin filters, new fuel filter, and rear differential oil changed. Everything was noted to "Carfax". Just an all around great experience, which will make me come back with our other truck. read more

The staff at Mobil 1 Lube express in Elgin are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to explain what services are recommended. I first went in for an oil change and weeks later went in for an A/C recharge. I love to support a family owned business rather than spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere. I called because my oil cap chipped and it was slightly leaking oil. I needed an emergency oil change, and for someone to look at my oil cap. They immediately told me to come in and they will take a look at it with no hesitation. They were competent, caring, and professional. I was in and out of there within 30 minutes.
