Scam Operation - Avoid at All Costs Speedy G Towing is not a legitimate business -- they are scammers. They towed our truck without any valid reason and then tried to charge an outrageous amount of money with no explanation or itemized invoice. When we questioned the charges, they became aggressive and threatening, saying they wouldn't release the vehicle unless we paid in full, immediately. It felt more like extortion than a towing service. There is nothing professional about this company. They exploit people in stressful situations and use intimidation to get paid. ****DO NOT WHATSOEVER USE THIS TOWING COMPANY****AVOID AT ALL COSTS**** I had a vehicle towed 75 miles. I was told the pickup was $125 plus $4 per mile. I had expected it to be around $425 (KEEP IN MIND I HAD MULTIPLE QUOTES FROM OTHER TOWING COMPANIES AT $500-$550 FOR THE SAME TOW). I asked the question to the driver before my vehicle was picked up if the cost would be around $425, and was told yes something like that. Only to find out once I was dropped off the cost was $950+. Beyond frustrating and if I could rate negative stars I would. Clearly a business trying to take advantage of their customers and not assist. FYI - I was able to get some money knocked off once I told the customer service how ridiculous this was. (Still paid $800 for the tow) Customer service then threatened to impound my car and charge me even more if I did not comply. Wouldn't use them again even if my life depended on it. read more

This towing service claims to be out of East Dundee, but then charges you from Barrington and adds outrageous fuel costs extra miles and before you know it you're paying $260 for a 6 mile tow!! Do not use the service! read more

Here it is yet again! I gave the dispatcher addresses to starting point and ending point. I was told it would be $150. I agreed. When we arrived at the drop off the total for the 4.6 mile tow turned out to be $226! I am filing with the BBB and Chicago Consumer Protection Agency. I am also going to contact the attorney general's office to see if they can do something. Boycott this business! read more

Good service but absolute BS towing prices. I had a flat tire on the interstate and my spare was dried out and cracked so I put it on just so the tow truck was able to get it on the truck easier. Had my Grand Caravan towed less then 3 miles and was charged $425 dollars! read more

I had the worst towing experience ever with speedy g from barrington. They quoted me $125 to hook up and $4 per mile which they said would be $150. For a 6 mile tow it was a $256. the driver was very rude. Dont ever use these people , they are dishonest thieves. read more

Warning beware of top page rankings on Google. This towing company prays on people's trust of Google ranking and uses a padding scheme to unhook your vehicle. This is a technique of not up front service charge and the oh by the way crap....way too much of the same ole same ole price padding going on with these guys. Google should be notified of their dishonest practice to reduce their page rankings. My son's truck was 5 miles away got charged for 13 and another surprise $120 at the drop off. Sad part is he's special needs as well...wasn't gonna argue with the driver but this crap and this company is crooked as it goes. I plan on making a complaint to Google and let them know that they are adding this company in a scam that they have priced out a ranking to help keep the scam type service going. They charged me $3575 for a 70 mile tow for 6 1/2 hours and they charged $185 to remove the driveshaft $195 to install the driveshaft in $185 to air the truck up do not use this company they will completely rake you over the coals they are a rip off Well a lot of other tow companies on here have five stars this company has one but you go to their website all day have is five star because that's all they will approve if you leave a one star review for a four star review they will not post it so when you see their reviews on their website they're lying to you go to google and get the real reviews read more

My alternator went out at 5:30 in the morning and I googled towing services near me. Speedy G popped up first so I called them I was in a hurry to get to work so I didn't ask questions because I didn't think it would be more than $200. I should have because I paid almost $100.00/miles when it was all said and done. I was only going 4.5 miles and was charged over $400. I wouldn't use this service again because I feel it's very expensive. Guys at worked said several other places it would have been it would have been under $200. read more

I was quoted $84 for hook up and $4 per mile. When driver shows up with my truck he was charging me $275, should have been $128 for an 11 mile drive. He explained that the miles to drive to the car were also charged. He was also saying that there was a $45 fee for no keys onsite. I told him that when I called in the lady said I did not have to be there as long as I had the keys at the drop off location. When I asked to speak to management we were disconnected, then she called back and I was told to follow up with management the next day and was sent an email. I started reading reviews and seems like this company is notorious for doing this. I don't expect much from management so I will not even waste my time any further than this review. If I could I would give this 0 starts but I can't, I guess the driver should get the star, he earned it. read more

I prearranged this company to Tow a car without keys, the girl on the phone would not quote a flat rate instead she said "port to port" I repeated "point to point" she repeated "port to port". I had never heard of such a thing and I thought it was just a play on words? They were over two hours late picking up the car because they will not show up if they are unable to call you, this was never explained to me? When they dropped off the car they did not have any dollies to help roll the car off the truck we had to use my personal dollies and pieces of wood to get it off the truck? When they presented the bill it was more than the flat rate quotes I had received from other companies. When I called the office numerous times to question this there boss was never there, never returned my calls, or never came to the phone. The girl in the office told me she Had no idea why he would not talk to me and had no explanation for what he does. My husband was stranded and didn't know better we paid $100 for the hook up and $4/per mile from Elgin to Dundee(7 miles!) PLUS a convenience fee for using a credit card! I would highly recommend this company. Polite, professional, and fast. We called a competitor and got jerked around for several hours, finally told them forget it and called Speedy G. They were at our home in 30 minutes, and got the job done without issue. The guy was not only polite, but genuinely a sweetheart and good at his job. Towed our vehicle and delivered it on time.
