Honestly. They fixed my car a year ago for a water pump and over heating issue and then my car…read moreoverheated almost exactly a year later. I came in to see what happened and they said that the little plastic coolant pipes that go to the water pump were dissolving. I'm honestly quite annoyed because I feel like this is something that should have been noticed a year ago and I highly doubt this wear and tear appeared in a year on a car that already had 170,000 miles. I ended up going to another guy that actually cares about older cars (mine's a 2006) and he figured out it was another gasket in my engine, not a head gasket like they were claiming. Applewood wanted to charge me $4800 in total for a car I paid $3000 for. My mechanic was able to do it for $560 because he just replaced the radiator cap and plastic gasket that gets worn down at almost 170,000 miles each time. I also am a woman so when I called them they used a very sarcastic tone with me and kept gaslighting me on the issue. Sure a head gasket repair may have fixed the problem but I would have wildly overpaid. I added my inspection report that was wildly overstated and would have costed me $4800 for something that they should have already replaced or told me about considering they had replaced my entire water pump and the hose connecting to it.

I had paid for a diagnostic from…read moreanother shop which told me I needed to replace my alternator ASAP because its output comes were too high, and at the time, last year, I didn't have the money to do so. So I asked Autofordable to bring out a new alternator to install, but to check the alternator before installing to see if it really did need to be replaced. Dan, tested my car and said, the output was slightly high, but it was "passing" on his diag, so if it was his car, he wouldn't spend the $500ish on replacing it. I decided to hold off on the replacement, which saved me a ton of money right before Christmas! I also had my driver door handle replaced, and he fixed my issue with the car revving in idle. It was so convenient not having to spend the day at the shop with my little one, and she was able to nap during the whole experience. Why does that matter? Fast forward to now. The exhaust on the car was getting loud and seemed like it was "falling off." We obviously wanted to get this looked at, because the problem certainly wasn't getting any better and potentially breathing in carbon monoxide isn't good. A search turned up automotive evolution, so we went in at 8:30 am today - right on time for our appointment that we set via phone a couple of days prior. The staff were friendly and got the car looked at quickly. As it turns out, it muffler was basically falling off! The exhaust pipe was rusting through behind the muffler. On top of that, the muffler itself also had corrosion perforation / holes in it. No wonder it was sounding like crap and we heard it knock around over the horrible, pothole ridden colorado roads. My car was taken in at 8:30 am, and we had the car back before 11 am, closer to 10:30 am. The price for the exhaust work was reasonable and the quality of the parts and work seems very good. I like that they provide you with photos of the issue and give a report of what they find and/or recommend. Unlike a dealership or big national repair chain, there were no upsell attempts or pressure to pay for things I didn't need. Their price for oil changes appeared pretty in-line with local quick lube shops. The waiting area isn't bad: there are a couple of tables to sit at, a water dispenser with cups, and a restroom. It also sounds like they can make arrangements for rental cars if you need to leave your car for a more protracted repair. While I don't like spending money at a mechanic, that's the reality of having an older car. I definitely won't hesitate to return to automotive evolution in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs a car repair place.

I contacted Stop Shop (Todd) after Jiffy Lube rotated my tires and told me I had a week left on…read morethem. I was stressing out about the cost and expense. Jiffy Lube was going to replace but were unable to for a strange reason. I started doing research immediately and read about how honest Stop Shop mobile mechanic is and also the convenience of having him come out and do the work in my garage/driveway. Todd came out and told me my back brakes are fine and front ones are even better, that I have maybe years left. This was amazing to me, but I have read similar reviews as well. What a good guy and the least I can do is give a stellar review here. I wanted to pay at least a service fee, but it was out of the question for him. I put his number in my phone and will call when my wife's car needs brakes since we drive it much more. Will also tell friends and family about Todd and his company.
