Requested a complete diagnosis on a 2015 Subaru ( check engine lights and I wanted the CV axles all checked . Well in less the 10 mins they were done charged me $181.00 Gave me an estimate to change a MAF valve ( maximum air flow ) of $641:46 to change a two screws and a clip valve right on top of the engine. What really disgusted with this place was they said they looked at all 4 CV axles but never told me that both front tires were so worn down on the inner part of the tires that metal band was sticking out. Fact is they never looked at the CV axles otherwise they'd of seen how bad these tires were. Tried to talk to the shop owner about it and get a refund , got nothing but bullshit from him . I have been a customer for years. I think there's a new owner now but the honest and knowledgeable advice is the same. We brought in an old Honda CRV for a diagnostic. They said the engine is good, we just needed to add fluids. They could have padded their bill but chose to be honest. Mason even called the next week to see how the car was running. read more

Helped us out in a pinch but seemed dishonest so we won't be back. Charged us $86 for checking if my son forgot to push a button, which he did. Took them a split second to do that and I told them to check if it's pushed in. read more

Great service overall! The staff was friendly and explained everything clearly. They fixed my car quickly, and the pricing seemed fair. I'm on a low budget (anyone remember the Kinks song?). The folks at Applewood Service were very accommodating. They let me provide my own parts - a radiator and the required hoses. Billed me for labor only and didn't add any BS charges. They did find a few other issues (I have a 31 year old Ford Ranger!) but applied ZERO pressure. No "hard sell" upgrades or other nonsense. They simply identified the issues and provided a quote for the cost to repair. I chose what I wanted and what I didn't and there was no commentary. Just professionalism. These guys were amazing! My sister was traveling through Denver from Alaska. She needed to get to Oklahoma, so could only stay here one day. Her A/C went out as she was driving through Canada. These guys got her in that morning and had the A/C fixed by that afternoon. The switch had gone out in her 1995 Suburban and nobody had the part in stock. Since she was in a hurry, they fixed up a toggle switch, so she could get back on the road. They were very helpful and the price was very reasonable for the work they had to do to rewire the new switch. Highly recommend this business! read more

I'm a mom of young kids (new baby too) and know nothing about cars and they were extremely kind and helpful. They fixed my car super quickly! Initially I was not going to leave a review but thought others may want to be aware, and overall just left a bad taste in my mouth. I went in for an oil change was quoted roughly ~$60. I had dropped my car off and was at work, missed a call at 11:44am and called back at 12:11pm and was told my oil change was done and that I needed an air filter and cabin filter, I asked how much that would cost ( I am on a tight budget) I was told a bunch of different numbers that amount to over $100 in costs followed with "I already put them in because I didn't hear back from you and was trying to get the car out" , um OK. Shocked I said I would walk over to pick it up shortly. After hanging up I thought about it and realized it was not in fact ok, I have started a new job, short on cash until payday and trying to budget in my head I called back simply to get the exact cost and Rob said that he would work with me because he doesn't normally just put filters in cars without hearing from the owners but again he was trying to get my car out of the line and that whatever I do could cost wise he would work with me to get me closer to my original budget. Which in my mind is a $~60 oil change! Anyway I go pick up and the total is $169, so obviously over budget, I said I could do $100 at MOST, he said ok, did some stuff on the computer and than asked if I could do $121. Proceeded to tell me he would rather lose money on it than put the old ones back in and have me driving around with them. I appreciate that thought but this isn't a ME problem this is a YOU problem. I should not have to wait to have old filters taken out because work was done on my car without my approval that I can not afford. Again, overall I guess decent mechanic especially based on previous reviews alone but unfortunately for me going way over my budget even after "working with me" on an issue that was created by YOU is not my idea of good business. read more

I was having trouble with my car which I originally thought was my starter. I had made an appointment for tomorrow morning but of course it decided to die on me this afternoon at work. I called Applewood and they gave me the number for a towing company they use. I really appreciated this because I already had enough on my plate at work and didn't need the hassle of figuring out what company to go through. He said he would do his best to look at it as soon as possible, and the place is always packed so I don't doubt they are very busy. The tow guy was awesome and really came across as genuinely caring about my situation and my wallet. He dropped off my car about 12:30 pm. It only took about an hour and I got a call that it was the battery. I was able to pick up my car at 4:45 pm. Anytime you have to take your car to the shop it's not cheap but I felt it was reasonable and will continue to take my car and recommend others to this shop Thanks guys read more

Worst service ever. I brought my car in to have the oil changed. This was the 2nd time using the shop since i work next door. 1st time was amazing service. I went back a month later and completely different story. They told me my car would be done by lunch and wasnt. Then I am being told there was no oil in the car and it was making a horrible noise that it wasnt making when I dropped it off. Mind you I have mechanical knowledge and do regular maintenance and oil changes. I have checked the oil last night and it was full. He proceeded to tell me there was no way it had oil and I was stupid. Also proceeded to tell me the car needed numerous parts fixed that after the 1st oil change there i had replaced. I wasnt told about an oil leak 3 weeks ago and now all off a sudden it was leaking from everything. I also havent noticed a spot under the car leaking. I brought this up to him with the respondse of i didnt know what i was talking about. Worst service and I will definitely never return. They kept pushing for things to be done that didnt need to be. read more

This is a really trustworthy place to take your car for repair. I started using Applewood Service Center for just oil changes but soon found out Rob could do anything else for my car and it cost a lot less than the dealership. I'm always a little nervous with a new mechanic since I know nothing about cars and am afraid of being taken advantage of. After working with Rob I have no fear. I took my car in for brake problems and he was super honest and after a full inspection it turned out the brakes were okay, it was just my anti-lock brake system, which I was not used to. He could have taken advantage of me, but instead was patient and explained things thoroughly to me. He even went so far as to find me a patch of ice near the shop to try it out and be sure that he was right in his assessment.
