Honest and trustworthy. That's what o have to say about this place. My Jeep has an oil leak so I first took it to another mechanic to get it looked at. They quoted me 1200 dollars to get it fixed. Seemed a little outrageous so I brought it here to get a second opinion. Turns out the drain plug in the oil pan needed to be replaced. It was a 11 dollar part. It refreshing to know there are still honest auto shops out there. You just have to search. This place earned my business for as long as o live in Denver. I had a dead car in a nearby shopping center on a weekend night around the holidays. I asked AAA to tow it to HP Automotive because it was nearby and had another positive Yelp review. Also I was new in Denver and hadn't found that gem of mechanic that you'd swear by. Thankfully when HP opened after the holiday and my little dead car was in their care, I not only got it fixed but found my gem - the car servicers I will always use for as long as I can. As the other reviewer said, Don is honest, forthcoming, not out to make a fast buck, and has a well-skilled staff. Don Hunter is the owner of this amazing auto repair business. We first called him on the recommendation of a friend. We thought out alternator was down. (But really, we know nothing about cars, so we had no clue.) He could easily have gotten away with replacing our alternator and we would have never known the difference, yet it was simply the battery. Don is an honest man. He will tell you what he thinks is going on and fix only what is necessary. Most of the time the car is fixed within hours of him getting it at very reasonable prices. He has been taking care of our Saturn and Honda for 5 years now and they are both over 100K miles. Don will even come pick me up when my car is ready!!! Since doing business there, I have not even consider going anywhere else except in a few cases where Don (the owner) suggested I go to a dealer for warrenty coverage or because of specialized equipment they may have access to. My wife and I recently used HP Automotive for changing out the timing and drive belts on our 2004 Mitzibushi Endeavour. Don gave me two estimates - one best case and one worst case - so I would aware of the differences and be financially prepared. Justin was the mechanic who did the work and called me afterwards to tell me exactly what he replaced and why. Suprisingly, much to mine and my wife's delight, the repair cost came in considerably lower than what was presented on the best case estimate!! Justin was very knowledgable and completed the entire job in an amazing amount of time. The vehicle was dropped off around 9:00 a.m. and was ready just after 1:30 p.m!! The entire experience was made so easy and the service was absolutely above and beyond! I would recommend HP Automotive to anyone who is looking for quality work at very reasonable prices.
