Mechanic recommended fixes for the long road trip, we had them completed and picked up the car with seemingly no issues. We were slated to leave the next morning at 5am, so we woke up at 3am to get ready and take the dog out on a walk, where we discovered the splash guard hanging completely on the ground underneath the car (first image + video below). So we had to delay our trip out by 2 hours just to bring it back in. Told them my frustrations with having our travel delayed, and wasn't really met with any sort of apology / compensation. Finally get back out on the road, and when we arrive at our destination the next morning, we noticed a scraping noise when hitting some low bumps. Looked under the car and see that part of the guard underneath is held together with a zip tie! (Second image + video) Absolutely insane work. Well in less the 10 mins they were done charged me $181.00 Gave me an estimate to change a MAF valve ( maximum air flow ) of $641:46 to change a two screws and a clip valve right on top of the engine. What really disgusted with this place was they said they looked at all 4 CV axles but never told me that both front tires were so worn down on the inner part of the tires that metal band was sticking out. Fact is they never looked at the CV axles otherwise they'd of seen how bad these tires were. Tried to talk to the shop owner about it and get a refund , got nothing but bullshit from him .
