A great little spot to stop downtown for a quick bite. The menu is limited but the space is typical of a dive that all the locals enjoy. The portions were great and the salads were fresh. Located in a small town, it's off the beaten path so you've really got to be on a mission to locate it. The staff was super friendly and we all shared a few laughs. I love local places like this because it really gives you an insight to the people of the town. I'll definitely be back if I am ever in the area again. read more

What an unexpected discovery! This fantastic downtown restaurant in downtown Greenville, Alabama...wow! Friendly staff, great service, but the star was the Liveakos pizza. A perfectly cooked crust piled high with whole roasted ingredients, each bite is a flavor explosion. It has been a long time since I have had a pie this amazingly fresh and great! read more

The mahi sandwiches were excellent (and all the other food we ordered) but the wait time was ridiculous. We ordered online at 6 and the pickup time said 6:38. We arrived at that time and were told that the food was JUST being thrown on the grill. We didn't get any of it until about 7:15 and without any napkins or utensils for the pasta. The food was great but they need to work on their pickup order timeliness. read more

My wife and I both had the grilled chicken sandwich. It was very good. I was taken back by the fact that nothing came with the sandwich, such as fries or chips. Service was OK. Nothing to write home about! The restaurant was very clean as well as the restrooms. Very limited luncheon menu. I suppose the night menu has more to choose from. We will go back though. Didn't ask us what we would like to drink. Took 30 minutes to take our ice cream order. Then while sitting and chatting the owner asked us to leave. Terribly disappointed. Good food. Awful service. There's a Cracker Barrel down the street which I'm sure will treat you better and have good if not better food. Don't waste your time. Owner was rude. Waitresses even worse. read more

The original Alabama Grill was something out of the 50's! A small, comfortable diner with good burgers and bottled Coke's. I am so glad to see a rebirth of this spot! We have enjoyed it two nights in a row! It has been COMPLETELY REMODELED and has become a shining example of Greenville's growing downtown. The decor is absolutely beautiful, complete with the original bar, stools and many of the diner's original fixtures and mirrors. The menu is complete with pizzas, burgers and other entrees! We had a supremo, a Laveakos (named for the Greek immigrant who started the Grill in 1947), a calzone and a DELICIOUS Greek appetizer of hummus, Tzaziki, pita chips and olive with feta. It was DIVINE! I foresee that being my lunch many times in the future. The kitchen is still ironing out some kinks, but the wait was worth it. We enjoyed several Leinenkugal Summer Shandy's and enjoyed a late lunch. We did NOT feel like we were in Greenville. Give it a try! read more

We stopped by on our way home from the beach and we were so happy we did! It was only a few minutes off I-65 and was fantastic. The service and food were excellent. We had a burger, pizza, salad, vegetables and ended with fantastic ice cream. We will return. Thank you for everything. read more

We were traveling through the city on our way back home so not familiar with the area. I found AG on Yelp & decided to give a try. Restaurant was hard to find, not big signage, but worth the hunt. I was travelling through town and stopped here for dinner. The food here is great and reasonably priced. The menu is kind of small with only a few items to choose from but each dish on the menu sounded delicious so it was hard to choose. I ended up ordering a pizza and it was really good all the ingredients were fresh and the dough was homemade. The service was a little bit slow but this restaurant just opened not too long ago so the staff is still working out the kinks. The staff was really friendly and made an effort to check on me whenever they walked by. I would recommend coming here, even if you are just visiting the area. read more

The Alabama Grill has lived up to the high expectations that awaited its' grand opening. Resa is always friendly and makes you feel right at home. Alan is working his magic in the kitchen and the waitresses are all working hard to make sure you are well cared for. The atmosphere is charming but most importantly, the food is awesome! The artisan pizzas are amazing! The sandwiches are large and delicious. The salads are fresh and are extra yummy with all homemade dressings. The fish specials are featured two nights a week and locals are lined up to get the snapper or tuna special. The best part is that they have breathed life into downtown Greenville!! read more

We are staying in Evergreen Alabama from Texas. Decided to make the drive to Greenville to try this restaurant since my husband was wanting pizza. Did not at all disappoint! Walked into a very clean well decorated place. Our waitress Sherry very pleasant. We ordered the meathead pizza and garden salad. It was enough for the both of us. Very tasty pizza. Very cute place, but I ordered pick up and it was a disaster. They were busy and she kept telling us to move but could not tell us where we could stand and wait. Missed part of the order because it didn't print on their side although I could show her on my confirmation order. And, on top of that and a wait, the food was not very good. read more

The Alabama Grill has been beautifully restored! We have been at least a half dozen times since it opened 3 weeks ago, and the food has been amazing each time! The pizzas are delicious and made to order. The burgers are juicy and delicious! We've heard nothing but positive reviews on the steak as well! Definitely try the appetizers, they will not disappoint. The owners have put their hearts and souls into bringing this piece of Greenville history back to life, and it shows in the restoration and dining presentation. Wow, wow, and wow. What a fantastic piece of history rebuilt to serve the current century. We had a reunion of sorts here and it was beyond all expectations. The food was amazing and the rebuild of the entire place is beyond words. There is a pattern here - the harmony in the food tastes coupled with beautiful refurb of this historic restaurant make it a must visit (you will be back) for everyone that reads this post. Don't miss it. They now have homemade style ice cream in a place that has almost everything else (full liquor license included) - the pizza was sooooo good as were all the appetizers but the ice cream sealed the deal for never missing this place whenever we go down I65. We will time our trip to match their hours. Check their Facebook page for specials - they will be special. Snapper- can't wait to try it on a Tuesday.
