From reception all the way back they are the most caring, compassionate people I know. Have always give us the options if there multiple ways to handle something and an honest opinion on what they would do if were talking to their own family. Appointments are scheduled timely. Sometimes the same day! But always with a few days. Even during this time of Coronavirus they are skipping lunches so they can see as many people as possible. Can't say enough good things!!!!

Once I got back to the auditory person and went through the hearing test, it was great. Recommend this place, but bring headphones and listen to your own music. You will thank me later.

She was super helpful and made sure I felt comfortable and knew the process of assessing my several issues. Then, nurse Beth conducted the first debrief of my hearing test as well as a first assessment of my sinuses. Again, she walked me through all of my results and next steps. She also walked me through the follow up appointment and assessments. During my follow up I met with Dr. Marshall. I was blown away by the time he took to go over my imaging and the implications. He is absolutely one of the most down to earth and thorough physicians I've ever seen. I am blessed to have found this location and highly recommend Dr. Robertsons practice for any of your ent needs.

Anyway I set the appointment up for 9:00 and they said nothing to me about there being a bunch of people in front, they just told me 9:00. I actually got there 5 minutes late because I was filling out the paperwork so I wouldn't have to do it when I got there. I handed in the paperwork and they called me back up for the payment. I was there till 10:00 before they called me back. And it wasn't until 10:30 until he finally came in the room. After we went over my symptoms and what he was going to prescribe I made the suggestion about the scheduling and before I could get out I had made an appointment at 9:00... I got a lecture from Dr Walters that basically I should be patient because there's 40 patients per doctor that they're looking at but I seriously doubt that's at this moment!!! They were a little busy but they were not that busy. Honestly didn't appreciate the tone so I'll just let my words go here and start looking for another ENT. It's a shame I really like Dr Lowry though but I know he's in surgery a lot. I've been going to them for a long time but I hadn't had to go to them lately until just now.

I came in through the ER Saturday after my water broke at home with intense abdominal pain, fever,…read morebleeding at the end of my first trimester. This is not my first pregnancy or pregnancy loss. I knew I was miscarrying our child. My contractions were every 2 minutes, rhythmic, that strengthened each time. My BP 150/60. HR 130s. Temp 101 with history of sepsis post loss. Dr. Tinker was on call and dismissed my concerns after a quick report of a heartbeat. The bleeding worsened while in the Triage and the contractions intensified. He blew it off as "cramping from an unknown virus". He said all of my labs "looked great" and told me to go home and rest. I asked to be hooked up on a monitor to look for contractions or test the fluid to ensure my water didn't break. Both requests denied because he said they would be "falsely positive". I was physically in so much pain I could not even walk. He kept reassuring me everything was okay, I was just sick..He said he knew this was scary from my previous loss and insinuated I was just anxious. I assured him this was not anxiety and that I wanted to stay but he said there was nothing he would do for me there. I went home and ended up laboring with my 2 small children. On Monday I called the OB office back with no answer, so I went back in. The ultrasound showed no fetus or placenta. A total loss at home with the false reassurance that this was all due to an unknown viral infection. I logged on to my patient portal later to find my labs were anything but normal that day. My urine culture even worse. He told us my Hct was 44 (well above normal) and it was 34 (less than normal). An eosinophil count of 90% (normal is 1-6%) with a lymphocyte count of 3% (normal is 20-40%). There were clear signs of infection and blood loss that day because I was, in fact, actively miscarrying our child in the ER, but this was covered up by Dr. Tinker's fabrication of my clinical picture. This is not my first experience with loss unfortunately as noted by Dr. Tinker. I had a loss at a different facility and they were able to make a handprint from my baby. It is my most prized possession. While we left that facility without a child, we left with hope from true compassion from those who cared for us during that tragedy. I will never have that opportunity because of Dr. Tinker's dismissive, condescending behavior. He rushed me out of the door and treated our loss like an inconvenience in his day. While no medical treatment could have saved my baby, the callus behavior made our worst day, worse and jeopardized my own life. I was never offered a prayer or a simple apology for our loss. For a Baptist hospital I am genuinely shocked at the lack of compassion and for the value put on a life itself. I pray that this doesn't happen to any other mom under their care. Every child is important and every mother should be heard.

She listens to all of your needs and she generally cares about her patients. I usually do not have that long of a wait to see her and she usually does not keep you waiting in the exam room. She is very thorough and she also chats with you to make you feel more at ease during procedures. I am always able to share all of my concerns with her without feeling weird. She makes great recommendations and I feel like she actually listens to me. If I cannot build trust with my doctor or feel unheard, I will usually change. I have been with Dr. Aultman for several years, even before she was at Alabama Women's Specialists. If I am willing to follow a doctor, then you know they have to be superb. I highly recommend Dr. Aultman because she's a caring doctor, who puts her patients needs first.

She is knowledgeable, professional, and someone I have felt confident following medically. However, over the last couple of years, my annual appointments have consistently been with a physician assistant rather than with Dr. Leong. Unfortunately, my experiences with this provider have been disappointing. I have felt talked over during visits, not fully listened to, and at times treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I raised these concerns previously and was told I would not have to see this provider again, yet at my most recent visit I was scheduled with her again. The most concerning experience occurred when I became extremely ill. My wife called the office to request medication for nausea and was told that if we did not hear back, we should check the pharmacy. There was no follow-up call and no prescription sent. For a patient of more than two decades, that lack of communication and care felt dismissive and unacceptable. I still have respect for Dr. Leong, but the overall patient experience has declined. Long-term patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for -- especially when acutely ill. I hope the practice and anyone thinking of joining takes this feedback seriously.

He diagnosed my weird allergies and gave me allergy shots to alleviate them through college. Then, when I had chronic tonsillitis sophomore year of college, he performed the surgery to remove my tonsils and adenoids. (Note to self- get tonsils out as a small child, this is NOT easy to recover from as an adult!) Every time I go to see Dr. Poynor, I'm met with equal parts dry humor, adept intelligence, and art knowledge. Yes, I did say ART in relation to an ENT specialist. You see, part of the allure of Dr. Poynor is his love of the arts- he is an avid collector and an advocate for the Birmingham Museum of Art. So, when I'm feeling gross and sick, I know he'll make me smile and provide some fantastic tidbit about where to go the next time I'm in London or what exhibit has just been added to the Birmingham collection. Dr. Poynor is probably best known for his solution to infections in his patients: yes, you walk out the door with an antibiotic Rx, but the secret is the two shots you get before you leave. An injection of antibiotics gets to work immediately, and a small amount of a steroid helps the body move past illness quickly. Not the most pleasant thing, being jabbed, but I always know that I'll get better faster. Even when I've lived out of town, or out of the country, Dr. Poynor has always been on my speed dial in case of ear, nose, or throat related illness/issues because he does an amazing job and always makes me feel better. (The lollipops on the way out don't hurt either)... Five stars for Dr. Poynor!
