He diagnosed my weird allergies and gave me allergy shots to alleviate them through college. Then, when I had chronic tonsillitis sophomore year of college, he performed the surgery to remove my tonsils and adenoids. (Note to self- get tonsils out as a small child, this is NOT easy to recover from as an adult!) Every time I go to see Dr. Poynor, I'm met with equal parts dry humor, adept intelligence, and art knowledge. Yes, I did say ART in relation to an ENT specialist. You see, part of the allure of Dr. Poynor is his love of the arts- he is an avid collector and an advocate for the Birmingham Museum of Art. So, when I'm feeling gross and sick, I know he'll make me smile and provide some fantastic tidbit about where to go the next time I'm in London or what exhibit has just been added to the Birmingham collection. Dr. Poynor is probably best known for his solution to infections in his patients: yes, you walk out the door with an antibiotic Rx, but the secret is the two shots you get before you leave. An injection of antibiotics gets to work immediately, and a small amount of a steroid helps the body move past illness quickly. Not the most pleasant thing, being jabbed, but I always know that I'll get better faster. Even when I've lived out of town, or out of the country, Dr. Poynor has always been on my speed dial in case of ear, nose, or throat related illness/issues because he does an amazing job and always makes me feel better. (The lollipops on the way out don't hurt either)... Five stars for Dr. Poynor!

Robertson, Well actually his nurse practitioner and she gave me the wrong diagnosis. This doctor really listens to you and he doesn't seem rushed. He knew it was related to my acid reflux even though that is not his specialty. He told me what medication to take and what to expect along down the road. When I go to this practice I never have to wait more than five minutes! And they took my temperature they are very careful. The receptionists are pleasant as well.

I tried Everything they asked to stop it. I actually had a NP with me..My daughte finally put me in the car to drive me back to the surgery center. They had all left early because it was Friday. So she went to the office. The lady was Absolutely No Help. She said she would call him and to just wait for Dr Sillers to call me . He had also told me he'd call me later to check on me. I had already bled through 5 towels at that point. My daughter finally took me to the ER. I bled through 2 more towels there while I was waiting to be seen. After we were able to get in touch with someone from SV Hospital, Dr Sillers's partner finally called me because Dr Sillers had left town. So his partner calls as I'm being wheeled in a wheelchair to a bed, and agrees to see me in the office. So we leave the ER. However, he was unable to stop the bleeding so he ended up just packing it. My nose was ruined at this point... The packing made my nose heel crooked. I ve had to have a 2nd surgery to fix what he ruined. I obviously never went back and never will.

Then, nurse Beth conducted the first debrief of my hearing test as well as a first assessment of my sinuses. Again, she walked me through all of my results and next steps. She also walked me through the follow up appointment and assessments. During my follow up I met with Dr. Marshall. I was blown away by the time he took to go over my imaging and the implications. He is absolutely one of the most down to earth and thorough physicians I've ever seen. I am blessed to have found this location and highly recommend Dr. Robertsons practice for any of your ent needs.

This is inside a big medical center so you need to allow for time to park and find your way inside. At level 2 is where you'll need to be from the parking deck to have a walkway either into the hospital or to the medical center for doctor appointments. The staff were all friendly. Dr. Roth (newly married, previously Dr. Hatchett) was very kind and informed me that my insurance doesn't pay for hearing aids. Taking this into account, she let me know the options I had moving forward. We were able to order a replacement battery for my current (older) hearing aids. She called the manufacturer and ordered this. Once it arrives, she'll be able to replace it in office. She also informed me of another program that may be able to assist me with getting new hearing aids. I really appreciated that information. I recommend this office just based off of my first appointment.

The office staff was very friendly and helpful and got me in pretty quick. The audiologist gave clear instructions for her testing and assured me that I'd get answers to my questions. After testing I saw Dr. Clark and his assistant (NP, I think?) in a small but efficient exam room. The assistant was as quiet as a church mouse but present. They LISTENED to me explain all my symptoms in detail. I didn't feel rushed or unheard. Then he explained my results to me, gave reasonable treatment options and a plan moving forward. From reception all the way back they are the most caring, compassionate people I know. Have always give us the options if there multiple ways to handle something and an honest opinion on what they would do if were talking to their own family. Appointments are scheduled timely. Anyway I set the appointment up for 9:00 and they said nothing to me about there being a bunch of people in front, they just told me 9:00. I actually got there 5 minutes late because I was filling out the paperwork so I wouldn't have to do it when I got there. I handed in the paperwork and they called me back up for the payment. I was there till 10:00 before they called me back. And it wasn't until 10:30 until he finally came in the room. After we went over my symptoms and what he was going to prescribe I made the suggestion about the scheduling and before I could get out I had made an appointment at 9:00... I got a lecture from Dr Walters that basically I should be patient because there's 40 patients per doctor that they're looking at but I seriously doubt that's at this moment!!! They were a little busy but they were not that busy. Honestly didn't appreciate the tone so I'll just let my words go here and start looking for another ENT. It's a shame I really like Dr Lowry though but I know he's in surgery a lot. I've been going to them for a long time but I hadn't had to go to them lately until just now.
