My regular stylist is out due to surgery and some medical issues so that is why I was looking for an alternative. I had a 9:00 appointment (when they open) the following day and I had to wait about 10 minutes before Caroline, my stylist, came to get me. I found Caroline to be very pleasant and eager to please. She was very concerned about my comfort and was so easy to talk to. Other Yelp reviews that complain about the length of time, need to remember that this is a school and you are receiving services from a student that is learning how to provide the services you are receiving. The price reflects this. Where else can you receive a shampoo, haircut and blow dry for $12.00? I thought that Caroline did an amazing job and took great care to give me an excellent haircut. My hair is very thin and fine, so it usually takes awhile to get all those layers cut. I found the instructors to be very kind and helpful and provide instruction without being condescending to the student. One thing that tickled me was all of the mannequin heads that the students work on to learn from. They are a rubber head with various hair types that slip into a tripod holder. They even wear a cape. Every time I turned my head there was another one! I asked the girls next to me if they named them and one said "Manny Quinn"! :-) I was there probably about two hours, but the time went by so fast. She took great care to put into action what she just learned in class that week. She was very open to learning from the instructors that shared a technique to try. How awesome to be able to help someone gain skills and get a great haircut in the process!?! She will no doubt become a little faster with more practice and experience. We all start out doing things a little slower in the beginning and become more efficient with experience. Please show some patience and grace with the student stylists. I also bought some product, if you bought 3 items you received 20% off their price. So the total charge for my haircut and 3 products came to $40 plus tax and tip to the stylist. I paid for a cut and partial highlights, but she damaged so much of my hair. She told me halfway she was trying a new method she saw on TikTok and when I brought up to her a partial highlight is 10-15 foils she kind of disregarded that. (She ended up with at least 35 foils) Her highlight job was just overall bad. she reassured me multiple times that she was taking thin sections but they ended up super super chunky. I asked for light brown cool tone highlights and she said she could do it, but tell me why I left that salon Blonde? I talked to her after and she got defensive and said the salon didn't have the proper toners to get me to my desired color. Then WHY even touch my hair in the first place? Some other complaints are she was complaining about how long my hair was the entire time. My hair is Yellow! She was talking about how she hates cutting hair which made me extremely uneasy when it came time for the cut because a supervisor was no longer in the building and after seeing how bad my hair looked I couldn't trust her. The aftermath of this experience has left me feeling deeply embarrassed and self-conscious about my appearance. As the establishment responsible for this outcome, I believe accountability should be held. Ultimately, I did not pay for a service to leave feeling awful.

She is the only one you will come in contact with - she has 1-2 other teachers who are only on-line. Despite this, I never ONCE saw her perform an esthetics basic.
